Translators group 23 members · 0 stories

So, not too long ago I decided to translate a fic from other language to English. I couldn't find a group where people would help each other with translations, so I decided to create one, as an experiment. So, if you know any languages besides English (or if you don't, but willing to help anyways) you're welcome to join.

Thank you for creating this group. :pinkiehappy:

I'm bilingual (Filipino and English), and currently studying Japanese. As of now, my Japanese proficiency is at an intermediate level where I can understand and translate some anime and manga, as long as I have a dictionary at hand.

I'm Spanish, though I can be considered bilingual if my English CPE is worth anything. My French, Latin and Ancient Greek are rusty, though I can still identify mistakes in the first two. Old Norse is also a language I've been studying (Western Old Norse), but I'm not a fast translator with that one (writing it takes a long time and it's mentally exhausting)

I've been looking for a group like this! Any english to spanish translators out there?

Seems to be the only one translator's group? Welp.

It's a pity I don't speak any Russian at all. All I know besides English was Chinese, German and Japanese.

"--from foreign language to English." I take some offence to the fact that for some reason languages other than English are "foreign". Could you just call them 'other languages' or something?

Allright, I'll change it, but I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, English is not my first language, however this website is in English, so I'm guessing any language other than English would be considered foreign here.

Also, do you have a permission from the original writer of the fic to translate it and post it somewhere (even on a forum rather than as an actual fic file here)? If not, bad you. If yes, then carry on.

The fic we're working on? Yes, yes I did get the permission, don't worry
