The sound of the running engine was the only thing that was able to keep Rainbow Dash from losing her mind. She had been in this plane for over 12 hours now and they still had at least an hour left on this flying metal deathtrap.
"Are we anywhere near the AO yet Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked as she hit her head repeatedly on the seat.
"No, and stop doing that we're going to need you for this mission." Twilight said as she used her magic to stop Rainbow Dash from receiving some brain damage.
"Remind again what exactly we are all doing on a fucking plane?" Rainbow swore as she attempted to settle her boredom by looking out the window.
"You know why we're on a plane, Cadence was kidnapped and Princess Celestia assigned us the task of rescuing her."
"I know that, I mean why the hell are we on a plane when I can just fly to the Badlands rescuing her all by myself."
"Well Rainbow you seem to be forgetting a few crucial things, like for one us, and your also forgetting there’s no way in hell you can rescue her all on your own." Twilight said as she went over the mission plans in her head for the 15th time in a row.
"Well why do we need to go, can't she just send the Wonderbolts or something?" Rainbow was trying to read the mission plans, but could only understand a few things, like changelings and dragons be here.
"You seem to be also forgetting that the Wonderbolts are with us, Soarin is the pilot of this plane and the rest are in jets behind us incase shit hits the fan."
"Well why can't we just use the Elements against those bastards and smoke their plots to kingdom come?"
Twilight was starting to get very suspicious of Rainbow Dash. She decided to give her the phrase and see what happens.
"What’s the secret password?" Twilight asked as she readied her horn to fire off a magic blast in case there is an imposter of Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash sighed and suddenly remembered that they had a secret phrase to tell if you’re a changeling or not.
"Loyalty"
Twilight sighed in content and released her flow on the magic blast she had summoned. She then when back to the map and studied it carefully. It was a very outdated map from at least 200 years ago. There are villages that probably gone now on there and many different geography changes in the map. Twilight had advised Celestia on many occasions to get her guards to get more up to date maps. That way incase anything like the situation they are in currently happens they will have a better chance at finding their way there. As she read the map she was yet again going through the plan for this operation.
The plan was to get every pony on the plane and get them to the outskirts of the Badlands. From there they would be going on hoof to the estimated location of Princess Cadence. They hoped the intel they got from Luna’s Royal guards were accurate, otherwise they would be in these forsaken lands for who knows how long. Twilight opened the letter given to her about the "support" they would get from the Princess and the rest of Equestria. The few things they had were an entire armory stocked to the brim with guns and specially skinned for covert ops missions. They would receive full air support by the Wonderbolts and Nurse Readheart for medical evacs. They would also have full use of Celestia and Luna's powers over the sun and moon by means of a radio. How they would use that Twilight had only the slightest clue. All she could think was use the moon to stay in the dark. The last thing they had access to was a secret weapon Celestia had dubbed "OFC 9000”. Twilight was still in the process of decoding what OFC meant. She was nowhere near figuring it out, so she went back to the battle plan.
After they landed from the airdrop over 2000m they should be landing in a remote dessert. From there they would be using the jeep they are given in the airdrop to get as far as they can on one tank of gas. After it died they would be walking the rest of the way in a "blind" area courtesy of the radio jamming tower somewhere along that. From there they could either blow up the tower to get air support again, or skip it to save precious time to rescue Cadence. After that they would be flying "blind". That’s as far as the scouts got before being forced to turn back due to the changeling soldiers. The plan was sound up until they went blind. Twilight suggested to the rest that if they took down the radio jammer they may be able to have radio support to navigate them to the Changeling lair. Soarin was the only one to object saying
"It can't be that hard to find a giant spire in the middle of a dessert, besides I have to save my fuel in case you girls get into a bit of trouble with the locals, And that goes doubles for the jets, We can't just waste them on finding out where to go."
Twilight wanted to say something, but was cutoff when Celestia finished explaining the basics and sent them on their merry way to go more than likely die far away from home.
"Twilight how far are we from the AO now?" Rainbow Dash asked as she examined her equipment over to make sure she didn't forget anything.
"Rainbow Dash ask me that again and you going out of this plane and are walking the rest of the way to the AO." Twilight said with her magic horn glowing ready on command.
"You seem to be forgetting things as well so what’s the secret phrase?"
"Magic"
Rainbow Dash uttered a slight curse under her voice. She was hoping that Twilight would say the wrong thing so she could knock her smartass lights out.
"Now what did I forget exactly?" Twilight asked as she put down the map and looked out the window checking to see if the Wonderbolts jets were still behind them. They were follow at a safe distance incase trouble was spotted and they were attacked.
"Well Egghead, you seem to be forgetting that I can fly." Rainbow Dash mocked as she opened and closed her wings rapidly to prove her point.
"and you seem to have also forgotten at this altitude most ponies will pass out from lack of oxygen without a way to breath, and if you go any lower your thermal will show up on their radar like the fourth of July and they'll shoot you down" Twilight waved her hoofs in a wild fashion to imamate fireworks.
"Maybe to pass time you can memorize the code books RD?" Applejack said as she opened and closed the door the to back area of the hanger.
"Why would I go over a super egghead book like that anyway?" RD complained as she held her hoof to her head in boredom.
"Ah don't know Sugarcube, maybe so you don't fuck up a mortar strike or forget a secret code and get shot?" Applejack said in a mocking tone as she threw the code book at Rainbow Dash.
"You have a point there, fine I’ll give the book a shot." Rainbow Dash said with a gulp as she thought of the results of messing up a mortar strike (not pretty folks, not pretty) Rainbow Dash opened to the first page of the book that was made only a few scant hours ago. They had the code names for them and their codes to call in strikes and the "OFC 9000". She started to read all the code names of her friends and the code words for the Wonderbolts air strikes.
Fluttershy: Kindness
Rainbow Dash: Loyality
Applejack: Honesty
Rarity: Generosity
Twilight Sparkle: Magic
Pinkie Pie: Laughter
"Twilight why are our code names so simple?"
"The princess thought our code names being our elements would make them easier to remember, and you better start calling me by that name."
"Fine Magic sucks ass." Rainbow Dash had to hold back the laughter from her rude pun.
"Well Loyalty is worth shit in terms of magic." Twilight said as she raised her head up just a bit to look at Rainbow Dash's reaction, little did she know the joke flew right over Rainbow Dash's head.
"I think she got you there Sugarcube, whoops I mean Loyalty." Applejack scoffed as she checked over her guns
After reading through basic she started to get into the more complex codes to call in airstrikes and medical evacs.
Zulo: Fire Raid via Wonderbolts jets.
Alpha: code word for Luna to raise the moon.
Omega: code word for Celestia to raise the sun.
Wisky: code for Nurse Redheart to med evac a wounded pony via Helicopter.
Ultimatum: code for the one of the three uses of OFC 9000. Rainbow pondered why the OFC would have only three uses, but she could not come up with any logical reasons so she read on.
Tango: Changeling spotted.
Pony: friendly or neutral spotted. Rainbow Dash wondered why they had let this code be so simple while the rest were using old military code.
"We'll be arriving at the AO in 15 minutes." The intercoms crackled to life as they projected Soarins voice.
"Finally we'll get out of this flying coffin." Rainbow Dash cheered with excitement as she put the book down and checked over her gear.
"Whoa there girl, you do know that we have at least an entire days’ worth of driving and then a few more days of walking right?" Applejack said as she tested the engine on their jeep. It ran just fine and even made a purring sound. She then tested the Abrams and tested the cannon on it, they both ran fine.
"Twilight is it possible to change our code names to something less stupid?" Rainbow Dash asked as she made a gagging imitation at their code names.
"Sure, but they have to be easy to say or else Fluttershy or Pinkie may say the wrong thing and fuck this entire mission up" *
"I'm sure I can come up with some more clever than Loyalty and Kindness."
"We'll be at the AO in 10 minutes, have your gear ready to go and be ready to jump." The microphone crackled to life.
"Well at least we'll be on the ground in a few minutes, anymore of this and I’ll jump out that window and fly to the AO."
Rainbow Dash complained as she got in the Abrams and strapped herself in. After a short while of nothing happening she got out and asked why they weren’t in the Abrams already.
"Cause loyalty we still have 5 minutes left before we're there it’s not a big deal I reckon." Applejack said as they heard a loud buzzing sound coming from the speaker meaning only one thing... Some pony told the changelings they were coming.
"Brace for evasive maneuvers!" Soarin yelled over the microphone as the plane took a plunge straight down into the blue sky.
"What evasive maneuvers, this piece of shit can barely do a barrel roll let alone dodge missile fire!" Rainbow Dash said as she was lifted into the air thanks to free fall.
"Every pony in the Abrams and strap your self’s in, shits about to hit the fan." Twilight said as she used her magic to give the room temporary gravity. After the gravity was in place everything came crashing to the floor including the ponies. They scooped up all the guns they could grab and quickly all pilled in the Abrams and closed the door shut. After they were all secured Twilight used her magic to bring the radio to her and turned it on.
"Soarin I got an idea but I don't think you’re going to like it." Twilight screamed into the radio as the entire tank shook all around them.
"I'll give anything a shot once, so what your plan?"
"Can you open the back hanger door from here and unlatch the Abrams with us in it?"
"Sure can, good luck you’re going to need it, I’ll let the rest of the bolts know of your plan so they can back off."
"I'll give a countdown of 3 to 1 so get ready girls."
"Fuck the numbers just let the damn tank go and we'll take it from there." Rainbow Dash yelled loud to make sure Soarin would hear her.
"Fine be that way, good luck and shit releasing lock now."
They could hear the loud sirens of the alarm telling them the back door was open and slowly the sound disappeared as they flew through the sky. After a while they could hear the sound of the chute activating.
"Well it's going to be a while before we hit the ground so is any pony hurt, and do we have all our gear?" Twilight asked as she unstrapped and opened the top hatch to get a look outside.
"Applejack we have a rocket launcher right?" Twilight said as she peeked her back down as her eyes darted around looking for the rocket launcher.
"Yeah sugar cube its right over there." Applejack then unstrapped as well and grabbed the launcher and handed it to Twilight.
"Good cause we have an entire fucking air raid about to hit us, AJ get on the guns and Rainbow you man the machine gun."
A/N well that’s the first chapter of ARMA Pony Assault. For anyone who does not already know AO stands for Area of Operations, meaning the entire field or area the mission is taking place. Also remember that little * when RD wanted new code names? Well you can make your own, just list who is who in the comments, whether you put only 1 pony or all 6 doesn't matter. Final note you can customize the entire load out for the mane 6 just list the gun you want the pony to have and if it’s an actual weapon and it’s in ARMA 2 it may just get picked, if you want to you can also put your reasons for the gun or kit.
