Chapter 5 The Man Under The Tree of Death
I wiped the words off, after I got rational looked at the clothes on the table and eyed them. How did they get here it’s not fucking possible! I looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was 3 am. I decided I had enough of this crap and went back to sleep. When I woke up I saw that both John and Luna were gone so I decide to check the other rooms. I found Lauren sleeping in her room and Celestia sleeping on the couch. I went to the kitchen and heard some voices so I went to investigate. It was just John and Luna cooking eggs and talking about space, the internet, etc.
“So you’re telling me your people willing went to moon, why the hell would you want to do that?!”
“Well Lulu no one was on the moon before so we didn’t know what minerals it possessed or if there was anything living on it. From what I’ve heard and seen you have different sentient species on your planet, now say that ponies were the only intelligent life on your planet wouldn’t you be a little curious of the planets around you?”
“Well I suppose that you’re right with that, but why not create a massive airship and explore your own planet to see if there is anymore sentient life here?” John slammed his hand on his head.
“Luna, we already have explored our entire planet. Well pretty much all of it that can be explored.”
“You mean there are places as horrible as the Everfree forest here? “
“Well Luna this whole planet is like the Everfree forest but there are places we can’t live in like underwater.”
“Oh so you mean that in some places there could be sentient life but even if there was you couldn’t reach it anyways.”
“Yes.”
“Okay I think I understand now, thank you John.”
“You’re welcome sweetie.” John kissed Luna on the cheek. I left the room and Luna followed me she turned me around to look at her.
“What the hell was the dream you had last night about and why did I wake up to you crying?”
“That was my past Luna I have that dream every so often and I was crying because most of those people died in front of me when I could have done nothing to help them. Do you know what it feels like to be so useless? I have never waked up to the actual apparel of that man before so that made me fear for my life even more.”
“No I can never say I have felt as useless as you felt in your dream but listen if you need to talk to somepony about this then remember you can always talk to me and Jonathan about it.” My eyes were starting to tear up.
“Thanks Luna not just for this but for everything.”
“You’re welcome James.” She nodded and headed off to the kitchen to join John again. I felt happy for them they seem to make a great couple.
I heard a clip clop of hooves and Celestia looked at me.
“Love is beautiful isn’t James?”
“Yes I also miss feeling it.” I walked away leaving a confused Alicorn behind me. I go back to the dining room and picked up the knife I eyed it and put my hand on the handle. I did a few jabs and slashes with it, I put it back in its holster. I picked up the gun and looked at it; it was quite an old revolver intricate design on the handle and ‘The Grave Maker’ was etched on the barrel in smooth handwriting. By the size of the revolver I could tell that it was signalling that its bite was worse than its bark, I put the gun back in its holster and put everything in the trash.
“Breakfast is ready everypony!” Yelled Luna. She had a strong voice but unlike her sister it had a casual tone to it. My stomach growled and I went to the kitchen, I could see John handing out the eggs and toast Luna didn’t touch any of her because she seemed to enthralled about the kitchen to even notice her meal. She put her head in the flour bag; we heard a sneeze and Luna’s head came out totally white. Everyone in the room started to laugh hysterically and Luna shot everyone an anger glare.
“What’s going on?” Celestia said as she walked in, then she looked at Luna and started laughing as well Luna shot her a glare. “I’m sorry Lulu but the situations your curiosity gets you in are always so funny and quite adorable.” Celestia chuckled.
“John what is this stuff? The bag says ‘flour’ but it’s too fine to be flour made by hand and the colour isn’t right either. So what is it really?” As Luna said flour she underlined it with her hoof.
“Luna that is really flour but it’s not made by hand but machines in a factory.”
“Can you please elaborate dear; I still don’t get what you mean.” John sighed and put down his fork.
“Okay first they harvest the grains need for the bread and then they deliver the wheat to the factory. The machines at the factory clean the wheat and scrape of the shells, and then the machines shake the shells off the assembly line. Then they go through a grinder until it is as fine as the product we have here after that that they use some kind of food grade bleaching agent to turn it white,”
“And that is how they made this flour.” She put her hoof on her chin in thought.
“I’m pretty sure. You know I could be wrong about this because this is just a rough guess of how it works.”
“Well I still thank you John for trying to explain it to me. It cleared up a lot of my questions.”
“Lulu you haven’t touch a bit of your food and it’s getting cold. Are you not hungry?”
“No sister I am not hungry.” Ironically when she finished her sentence her stomach let out a loud growl. Luna chuckled and slightly blushed. “Hmm it would seem that my stomach is disagreeing with me.”
When Luna and everybody were done with breakfast we all said our goodbyes to Lauren (All of us except Luna) and teleported back to the house. Twilight rushed up to us.
“Where have you all been?! I was alone here for two days straight worried sick about everypony!”
“Be calm my student I need to tell you things that will affect your Friendship and all of Equestria.”
“Okay sorry for yelling princess but I am just on edge here.”
“It’s okay Twilight you have a right to be on edge now listen have you sent any letters to Spike about the explicit images and the TV show.”
“No I haven’t, why are you asking this? Do you want me to?”
“That’s good Twilight now I have to ask you to do something and feel free to say no.”
“What is it?”
“I want to have your consent to erase all your memories about the explicit images and TV show. Now is this okay with you? Now I don’t expect an answer from you now bu...” Twilight put her hoof to Celestia’s mouth.
“I’ll allow you to do it Celestia; I thought of the consequences of me knowing all this already and decided that it was for the best that I got Luna to erase the memories of every time we talk about those things.” Celestia hugged Twilight.
“I am so glad that I taught such a smart filly.” She nuzzled Twilight on the cheek. Celestia walked in the house and Twilight followed John held the door open for Luna. I saw a mischievous smile crawl on Luna’s face.
“Ladies first Luna.”
“No you go in I’ll hold the door open for myself.”
“I insist.”
“Well if you don’t go in right now or I’ll...” she whispers something in his ear then put on a seductive smile and John blushed heavily, then she proceeded to slowly lick the side of his face.
“Okay I’ll go in first!” she stopped licking and smiled, she held on to the collar of his shirt so he couldn’t run anywhere.
“On second thought dear I’ll go first and can you please hold the door open for me.” She went through the door and I saw her snicker a bit, John was still blushing from what she said when he entered the house. I walked up to my dogs’ food and water bowls, I found them empty so I filled them back up. Walked back in my house and when I entered my kitchen I saw the man for my nightmare, sitting on the right chair in the room. I looked at Luna and back at the chair, he wasn’t there anymore.
“Hey Luna did you see that?”
“See what?” She raised her eyebrow at me.
“Oh nothing must be a figment of my imagination.”
“How dare you call me fake!” He appeared in front of me and lifted me in the air in a choke hold with one arm. He looked at me with his bug eye glasses, it was him alright and he is pissed. “Now listen you don’t know how hard this was to arrange this so I’ll just say it took me 35 years to complete the device and get it running.” He put me to the ground but still held me still so I couldn’t move I saw Luna’s paralyzing spell go around him but not penetrate the shield he had on.
“How did you get here?”
“See that machine on my back that’s how and you should know how it works you taught me how to make it after all.”
“What do you mean?”
“You mean you don’t remember the Tenth Grade Science Fair?” Then the memory hit me and I remember the project.
“Ah yes I remember it was September 19th 1990 and for my project I choose time and dimensional travel. I invented a device that was supposed to take me back to the day of my birth in a different dimension but all I saw was a blinding light and I was back in the gym so I classified it as a failed project and gave up on it.”
“Do remember at what time you begun the experiment?”
“Yes it was an important event after all; it was 12:19 pm”
“But when you came back you forgot to check the time but listen I did check the time. You arrived in my dimension after all you see for me the experiment started one hour after yours, so when you came here and we switched places. I continued my research because I knew it worked but since you didn’t notice the difference you didn’t continue your research and this universe got mixed up and that’s why Luna, Celestia, and Twilight were able to get in this dimension because the barrier between this dimension and the others are thin.”
“Okay so you are a dimensional time traveller warning me about something can I say this?”
“Say what?”
“I want to say this.” I coughed to clear my throat. “Great Scott! I finally did it I created Time and Dimensional travel on a molecular level.” I laughed.
“Ha, ha very funny but listen okay I and you can’t prevent this from happening because it’s a fixed point in time but you can change something in the future.”
“What do I need to change?”
“I can’t tell you, it would reveal too much and also I believe in the no spoilers rule. When you figure out what it is and make the time and dimensional traveling device and please shorten the name to the T.A.D device.” He let go of me. “James of Dimension 6531 please take care of yourself.” And in a blink of an eye he was gone.
“Wow James that was weird.” I sighed.
“Tell me about it.”
A/N Please do not hate on me about the flour making progress and the time travel part of this book since I really don’t know how they make it and I absolutely love the Idea of time travel and dimensional travel as well. This is all part of my predesigned story line and the James story will end next chapter. Sorry about the delay but I had a Fallout 3 induced writer’s laziness syndrome combined with having to delete up to 500 words for the last chapter because it was becoming more generic than it normally is. After this chapter is out I am putting all the chapters together to make a giant chapter and that will be how my book works from here on in. Also here is why Luna got with John so fast if some of you don’t get it: She waited for a man once and it turned out with her lover’s death and seeing that John was as determined as her previous lover she did not want to wait for him to try and complete the same quest only to have her be teleported back to Equestria before he’s done and by the way even if she made him do the Quest it would have just taken a day at the most. He could have gone on the internet and printed off a high resolution picture of it. I also pulled my head out of my ass and changed John’s first name to John
