From Riki to Pony – The Complete Storyline
[My FOV, First-person]
I was a newcomer to the Riki Village. I was confused about the fact of if I was going to fit in or not. I am only 16 and yet have new things to learn about. There was a knock on my door. I got on my feet and ran to the door. I looked through the peephole. It looked like a blue bunny with a happy attitude. I opened the door and the bunny said: “Hi! I’m Pogo Riki! Welcome to the neighborhood.” “We’re not even neighbors if we don’t l don’t live next to you.” I said. “Oh.” Pogo replied, “But anyways, it’s great to have more people in our village.” “Thanks.” I said back. I invited Pogo to come in and he stepped into my house. It’s nothing fancy, with only 2 windows, a desk with a computer on it, a bed that has its covers messed up, and an empty dresser. I excused myself to use the bathroom. I turned on the faucet and splashed my face with cold water, since I wasn’t awake. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was an owl Riki with pointy ears and had a reddish body. I had purple hands and feet and my beak as 1x bigger than usual. When I came out of the bathroom, Pogo was sitting in a chair, reading one of my books that were packed. The book was labeled “Cross-dimensional Possibilities”. Then as soon as Pogo made it to half of the book, he looked up and asked: “Is there really such a thing? Cross-Dimensional Worlds?” “No. Don’t be silly. There’s no such thing.” I replied. Just as I said that line, there was a knock at my door. I looked through my window this time and tried to see who it is. It’s a purple owl Riki like me only this one had a red and purple stripped hat. “Hello in there! It’s me, Olga Riki. Can I come in?” She said. I opened the door for Olga and she started talking. “So I hear you’re new around here.” “Yea, it’s true.” I said back. Olga spoke again: “Well, since you’re a riki of science, you should head over to Otto’s place, by the beach. He’s trying to make a teleportation device, whatever that means.” “Wait? He’s making a Portal Gun?” I asked. “Yep.” Olga said “That’s easier to say.” I got my bag and asked Pogo if he wanted to come along. He said yes. So me, Olga, and Pogo walked down the trail to the beach. “By the way, I never got your name.” Pogo asked. “Oh, how silly of me to not say my name. It’s Nicki Riki.” I said. “I used to be in the big city, but I moved because of the tension.” “Don’t worry, we’ve been through worse.” Olga said.
We arrived at the beach and we saw Otto’s workshop. We went inside and we saw Otto trying to work on the Portal device. “You must be Otto, right?” I asked. “Ya. It’s nice to have new people around here.” He said with a German accent. I was beginning to wonder why everyriki kept saying that. “I keep having trouble with this Portal Device. It won’t accept my location code.” “Location Code?” I said. Otto stared at me and said: “Location Codes help tell the portal device what portal to open to a specific universe.” “I’m SORRY?! UNIVERSE?!” I shouted. Otto looked at me with a smile: “The Device can open portals to 3 locations that I assigned…” then he pulled out a list from his pocket and read it out loud. “…”Dimmsdale”, “Dreamland”, and “Equestria”. I haven’t been to these places, but they do sound non-evil.” “I agree.” I said “This could be a latest breakthrough in transporting technology. We can finally get that contract with Black Mesa!” Otto finally typed in the right Location Code. 716. According to the list that I picked up, the code is for Equestria. The portal Device rattled and Otto dropped it onto the ground. Now worried, Otto backed away from the Device and Pogo and Olga hid behind me like a shield. Then the Device popped a portal on the ground and came to life. Then three ponies came flying out of the portal. One was sky blue and had a rainbow hairdo. The second pony was purple and had purple hair and pink bangs. The third pony was also sky blue, but had a hat and cape on. They all groaned and got on their hooves. Me, Pogo, Olga, and Otto looked in shock and Otto said quietly: “It actually worked….IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!! HAHAHAH!” He then danced around until one of the sky blue ponies crashed into Otto and then grabbed it by the hand. “Who are these round things?” Otto replied with a question: “More importantly, who are YOU?” The three pones lined up and the sky-blue pony stepped up first: “I’m Rainbow Dash!” Then the purple pony stepped up: “My name is Twilight Sparkle.” Then the other sky-blue pony stepped up: “And I am The Great and Powerful Trixie!” “Yea, I’m just going to call you Trixie, ok?” I said. Trixie got silent for a moment. Then Rainbow Dash said: “So what are your names?” Pogo, Olga, and Otto introduced themselves. Then I started to introduce myself: “And I’m Dr. Nicki. I came here to research cross-dimensional machinery with Otto.” “Oh, so you’re a scientist?” Twilight asked. “Sort of.” I replied “I don’t do any open hazard experiments. I just do the usual math and analysis.” “Oh background work, huh?” Twilight asked. “It’s ok…at least I get to try out these types of experiments.” I said. “Does it work?” Rainbow said. “Oh yeah. It sure worked if you three are here.” I replied. Otto decided to see if he was dreaming. He reached toward Rainbow Dash to touch her hoof. He felt it and it was real alright. “Oh my god. I successfully brought people-“ “Ponies.” Twilight corrected. “-Ponies into our world.” Otto finished. I was in shock too. Not only was it a success, but also bringing other life forms into the Riki world was a history-making moment. I decided to give it a try myself. I walked towards Trixie to feel her. “What are you doing?” Trixie asked. “I want to believe your real.” I said. “HOW’S THIS FOR REAL!” she shouted. Trixie’s horn started to light up after I replied and she threw a blue energy ball at me and I flew across Otto’s scrapyard.
I landed on some barrels, luckily empty, any I got back on my feet. But something doesn’t feel right on my forehead. I felt something grow on it, like a bump. I felt it with my hand and I started to worry. Surely it could be when I landed on the empty barrels, but hopefully it wasn’t from Trixie’s so-called “Magic”. Twilight found me trying to get balanced, which I did. She walked up to me and asked: “Do you feel different?” “My forehead hurts, probably because I landed face down on the barrels.” I replied. Twilight lifted my hair with her hoof and sees the “bump” on my head. “Your horn is growing. Your transforming into one of us!” Twilight said with shock and happiness. “What?...” I asked. “Your starting to become a unicorn pony. In moments, you’re going to be one of us.” Twilight said. I started to freak out, but then enjoyed the fact because at least I can try out the powers of a pony. The bump finally looked like a horn as it stopped growing out of my head. I felt it and actually wondered how it would work. Twilight dropped a can on the ground and told me to see if I can pick it up without my hands. I focused on the can and my horn started to light up with the color of light gray. I gripped my hands in pain and concentration. Then, the can had the same glow as my horn did; then it started to float into my eyes. Twilight was stunned with amazement. “Oh my god…no one is able to learn that fast.” She said “Can you pick up anything else?” Then I started to look at Twilight and she had the same glow as my horn. Two seconds later, she was floating in the air. “This is amazing.” Said the floating Twilight. “I got to show your friends. Hop on!” Then I let Twilight back on to the ground any got on her back. We went back to Otto’s house and Pogo, Chiko, Olga, ands Otto were still at the yard, discussing random things. They turned around and saw my horn and the four Riki’s were dazzled in amazement. “What a beautiful horn.” Olga said. “Can it do any magic?” Pogo asked. A glow was on my horn and on Pogo and then he was in the air. “Guess that’s a yes.” Said Chiko. I laughed. I thought to myself: I may enjoy this gift. Rosa came running to us screaming: “THERES FOUR PONIES OVER BY MY HOUSE!!!! COME TAKE A LOOK!” Then she saw my horn and the other 3 ponies and she screamed and went back towards her house. Twilight asked me if I can perform a teleport spell. I said that I would try. My horn glowed, then myself. Then within a moment, I was from Otto’s house to the roadway to Rosa’s in a flash. I was starting to get used to these powers. I saw Rainbow Dash flying in the sky and I decided to run to Rosa’s house. I ran a little faster than usual. Last time I did run fast was in New Riki High School. It’s off to Rosa’s place to see the four other ponies that got teleported here.
[Flashback, New Riki High School, Class of ????]
“A Zen Portal emulation? Are you out of your freaking mind!?” said a student. “I’ve been testing the numbers.” I said “I’m sure that the mini-emulation will work.” Some students gathered around my little machine. I went to a block computer and typed in a command to start the machine. It hummed with life. “So far, so good.” I said. The machine was half-charged. I checked the stability meter on the screen. Normal at .07%. I typed in the command to activate the damping locks (deploy_locks) and the Zen portal came to life. The students were amazed. I grabbed an apple on the desk and threw it into the portal. I heard somebody yelp in reaction and say: “What in tarnation…” The portal disappeared after that line. I began to wonder what that voice was. “What was that?” one student asked. “I can’t put my thought into that right now…” I said. Then I looked at the Location Code and saw that the Portal was in a different location.
[Road to Rosa’s Place, Present]
I walked over to Rosa’s house to see what was going on. Rainbow Dash is flying over me and decided to walk with me. “So wait,…” she landed and started walking. “This machine that sent us here. Can it bring other people here into this world?” I replied with “Sure can, otherwise you wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t get this horn.” Rainbow Dash lifted my hair with her hoof and saw my horn. She smiled and said “It looks great!” I blushed and Rainbow Dash laughed. We arrived at Rosa’s house. There, we see Rosa sitting on the stair near the front door. “They’re inside. I don’t know what to do.” I knew she was scared, but about ponies? It was kind of weird, especially for a lady Riki like Rosa. “We’ll check it out. Come on, Dash.” I opened the front door, and me and Dash went inside. The room wasn’t trashed. Everything was still in place, nothing broken. Then I heard voices in the upstairs room. “…this dress sure does look pretty for a ball-shaped person.” Rainbow Dash suddenly realized something. “I think that’s Rarity.” She said. I opened the door and sure enough, there was a white pony with blue hair and a diamond cutie mark. She turned around and said: “DASH! You’re here!” She hugged Dash and noticed me. “Who’s this little guy?” “This is Dr. Nikki” Dash said “He studies Cross-Dimensional studies using Zen emulation. He’s also….becoming one of us.” Dash lifted my hair again to show Rarity my horn. “How cute!” she said. I blushed. “Anyways,…” Dash said. “A pig riki named Rosa said the rest of the gang was here.” “Oh yeah…” Rarity looked out the door. “Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are downstairs.” I left the room and looked down the balcony. I saw a peach-like Pegasus pony and a pink bouncy pony in the living room. “Oh wow. Would you look at this wallpaper. It’s nice.” Said the Peach-like pony “I think it needs to be more lively, like Pink!” said the Pink pony. They both turned around and saw me. “Who are you?” They both asked. I replied: “I’m Dr. Nikki. Rainbow Dash said that you were here. I’m guessing your Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy?” “Yep.” Pinkie said with an energetic voice. “Yes.” Fluttershy said with a low, hard-to-hear voice.
We started to go outside when I felt a stinging sensation on my back. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy saw me fall to the ground. Rosa and Pinkie started to look. “What’s going on?” Rainbow Said. “My back. It feels like something fluffy coming out of it!” I yelled. And it did. It felt like feathers were growing out of my back. Bones were starting to form on my back and I started to hear cracking, including the fact that I can feel pain on them. *fluff* Finally, the pain stopped and my wings have fully grown. Me and Dash were stunned while Fluttershy smiled and said “That looks nice.” I started to feel my wings and they felt fluffy. Then I started to flap my wings and I started to float in the air. Rainbow Dash smiled with excitement and joy and Fluttershy joined me in the air. “Want to try out your new set of wings?” she said. Just then, we heard a distant scream across the village. “I’ll take that yell as a yes” I said. I started to take off into the skies. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were following me side-by-side. “Want to Race?” Dash said. “You’re on!” I said. Then I started to go faster, a little faster than Rainbow Dash to be exact. I saw Bobo Riki running away from his house. I landed in front of him with a slam; so did Rainbow Dash. “AAAAHHHH!! More ponies!!!!” he screamed. I grabbed his left arm and talked to him. “Relax. They don’t want to hurt you.” “I know that.” Bobo said. “But I’m scared of Talking animals.” “You talk and you’re a bear.” I said back. Bobo was silent. Then we went back to Bobo’s farm and saw an orange pony with ponytail and a cutie mark that had three apples on it. She had freckles and green eyes. “Boy Howdy, look at all these apples. Wouldn’t mind takin’ an apple from another world.” She said with a genuine southern accent. I tapped the orange pony on the shoulder and it got spooked. She turned around and saw me with my horn and my wings. “Boy, you do sure look good with your horn ‘n wings.” She said. Then she grabbed my hand with her hoof and rapidly shaking it. “I’m Applejack. Can you tell me where I am?” “Welcome to Riki village.” I said. “You know…you’re voice sounds familiar…” “How so?” Applejack said. He had a flashback to his high school days. He heard that “What in tarnation…” line in his head. Suddenly, a thought accrued to me. “Did you get hit by an apple years ago?” I asked. Applejack replied with “You know….there was this one time where someone threw an apple out of nowhere.” Oh god. That was my apple that hit her. I felt bad doing it in the first place. “So…everyone’s here. Now what do we do?” Applejack asked. “Well I was thinking we all head to Otto’s house for a meeting.” “Probably a good call.” Apple jack agreed. We started out of Bobo’s yard and walked down the road to Otto’s house. My hand suddenly felt numb and felt like I was gripping a fist. I couldn’t move my fingers. Then a gray glowing ring sparked and appeared on the top of my hands. It ran up my arm and my hand was now a hoof. The same thing happened to my legs. Now I lost my balance and I now stand on my four legs. I whimpered in fear. Rainbow Dash smiled and said: “Almost there. There’s just your body.” I collapsed to the ground, unable to walk. “You ok?” Dash said. I tried to get back on my legs, but I kept collapsing. Rainbow Dash helped me up and started to carry me on her shoulder. “Here, I got ya.” Dash said. “You’re going to be fine. We can get you to this “Olga” person. She’ll help you.” She continued to carry me until we reached Otto’s house. Rainbow Dash placed me on the ground and I got on my hooves. I can now balance perfectly. Rainbow Dash and I went inside Otto’s workshop.
[Flashback, Spring St., New Riki, ????]
“…listen to that groove. Have you ever heard such a thing?” someone said. “It’s amazing!” a second person shouted. I looked through a window to a TV shop and saw a band called “The Doors”. What caught my eye was the Bassist in the band. The notes of that bass sounded heavy. I decided to go to the music store and bought a cheap bass. I walked out with a Fender Jaguar bass. I strapped it onto my back and started to walk home.
[Otto’s house – Front yard]
Rainbow Dash and me walked into Otto’s workshop and decide to see what Otto’s up to. His head was on the desk, crying deeply. Rainbow Dash walked up to Otto and asked: “What’s the matter, Otto? Your teleporter works.” Otto relied: *sniff* “You know, you’re right.” He got on his feet. “I succeeded at building a portal device and I’m going to remember it that wayOH MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, DR.NIKKI?!” Otto saw me and he saw my body still as a riki but have the horn, the wings, and the hooves as a pony. “He’s transforming.” Rainbow Dash said. “Soon he will become like one of us.” Then Otto looked around me. Soon there was a knock on the metal door. It was Olga. “I had a feeling you were here, Dr Nikki.” She said. Then my head started to drill. Then my mane grew out of my head. It looked like Rainbow Dash’s mane only it was dark black hair and one white stripe. The same thing happened to my tail that started to grow out of what was my owl Riki tail. Olga and Otto were stunned while Rainbow Dash just stared. I wagged my ponytail and it started to freak me out. Then a flash blinded everybody. Rainbow Dash, Olga, and Otto were blinded. When they were able to see again, they saw me as a fully-formed pony. I was also no longer red; my skin was changed into a light brown color. I was also wearing a black vest. But what caught my attention is what Rainbow Dash and Otto was starting at my back near my tail. “What’s that cutie mark?” Dash asked. I looked at my flank and I saw it too. It looked like a black circle with the top of what looked like a Fender Bass. Then it hit me: I must be good at playing a bass. I ran out of Otto’s workshop and headed to my house. Rainbow Dash ran for me. “Where are we going?” she asked. “I’m going to see if I can still play the bass.” I replied. Rainbow Dash got confused and asked: “What’s a bass?” I replied with: “It’s an instrument that plays heavy notes. Used mainly in Rock bands. When I unpacked my bass, I stuck it under my couch. I’ll show you how it works.” Dash and I got to my house and I used my horn to open the door. “Come on in, make yourself at home.” I said. Dash found a spot on a recliner. I looked under the couch to see if the bass was there. Yep. I pulled out the Fender Jaguar with my horn powers and used the strap to put it around my neck. I rested the bass on my body. “Well, this is it.” I said. Rainbow Dash smiled with amazement, but also pointed out that there was another instrument under the couch. I got confused, but decided to look under there again, and Dash was right. There was a Fender Stratocaster Guitar under there as well. I started to think: How did that get there? Ah well. Dash looked at it and asked: “Is it ok if I can try it out?” I started to laugh but Dash’s face was still. “…you serious?” I said? Dash nodded. I gave her the Guitar. She then put it around her neck and let it rest on her. Then I decided to test my skills. I looked for a song on the computer and found “Tom Sawyer” by Rush. I opened the file and the music came to life. It opened with the first bass line. I strummed to it and it was flawless. I held onto the note for about 13 seconds. Then something awesome happened. Rainbow Dash kicked off the first guitar riff. It was also flawless. I was amazed. She repeated the guitar riff three times as the song did. Then I paused it. Rainbow Dash looked at the Guitar in shock. “You played very well.” I said. “But how?” Dash asked. “I didn’t have any lessons.” I had a thought and decided to ask: “Got any other Guitar-playing ponies in your world?” “Only one.” Dash said. “Guitar Pick. He’s so awesome with the guitar, just like I just did with that “Riff” as you call it.” I began to wonder. Then Otto came into my house panicked and in shock “YOU GUYS!” he yelled. Rainbow Dash’s mane shocked up and she froze in fear. She regained herself and said: “Calm down, Otto! You almost spooked me.” She said. “Not as spooked when you see what I saw across the mountain.” Otto said. So me, Dash, and Otto climbed the mountain North of the village, and I was starting at a loss for words, so was Rainbow Dash. “Is that….Canterlot?” Dash asked. Riki Village, now next door to….Equestria? I got lightheaded and passed out. “BASS!” Dash yelled. “DR. NIKKI” Otto said. My cell phone rang and Otto grabbed it to see who it is. It was Olga. He answered it and let out a “Hello”. Olga was also freaking out. “I was looking at the telescope at the ocean, and guess what I saw? The statue of liberty, only it’s a pony statue.” Dash overheard my conversation and suddenly said: “Manehatten! This village somehow got to Equestria! I got to find Twilight!” Dash ran back to Riki village to find Twilight while Otto tried to wake me up. It was a matter of time until everything was figured out.
"....wake up, Bass..." a voice said. Ugh, what hit me? I thought. "Bass, wake up..." the same voice said. Last I remember, I saw Riki Village as a part of Equestria. I thought. "BASS, WAKE UP!" another voice yelled. I started to wake up. I found myself on a bed. I looked around and started to wonder where I was. I got off the bed and landed on...CLOUDS! I looked down at my hooves standing on the clouds and wondered why. Rainbow Dash poked my wing and said: "You're an alicorn. You have the ability to walk on clouds, as well as use your magic." I started to panic because without these clouds, I would be high in the sky and falling would mean SPLAT. I jumped on the clouds and it didn't break up or anything. "Where am I?" I said. Rainbow Dash leads me to a window and said: "Welcome to Cloudsdale!" I looked around and I saw walking and flying Pegasus ponies all over the city. "So this is Bass Groove." someone said. Me and Dash turned around and saw this Pegasus pony that had a red tan color with a black hat and a blue and red mane. "It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Guitar Pick." he said. He reached out his hoof and I shook it. My phone rang again and I checked the caller ID. "It's Wolli." I said. I answered it and I said hello. Then Wolli screamed into the phone: "Where are you? I tried your house but all I got was this note saying that you and this other person named Rainbow Dash went to a city called 'Cloudsdale'." "Well...I am meeting new friends." I said back. There was a long pause...then another scream. Wolli started to hyperventilate. "There's a grey pony in my room!" he shouted, gasping for air. I looked at Dash and said: "Can I go check on Wolli?" "Go for it." Dash said. "I'll follow you just in case. After all, that village could have surprises." “Guitar, Can we meet up later? I do want to talk to you about something.” I asked. “Not a problem, Bass. I’ll be waiting for ya.” Guitar Pick said. I started to spread out my wings and it felt good. I flew out the window and down to Riki Village with Rainbow Dash following me. I saw Wolli's house and I decided to a hard landing. I stopped flapping my wings and I started to fall, then once I was at 300ft elevation, I quickly spread my wings and I was flying again but close to the dirt road. I stopped and landed on my hooves once I saw the house. Rainbow Dash landed next to me and said: "That was so amazing. How did you learn to fly like that?" "You." I replied. Dash blushed a little and she decided to hug me. An actual hug. I haven't had one of those since my parents saw me walking to my dean for my diploma. I started to cry. Dash noticed and asked: "What's wrong?" I sniffed and replied: "I never had an actual hug since my graduation. The day after that, my parents were assassinated." Dash gasped in shock "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." Twilight Sparkle showed up and saw me. She ran to me and said: "Good news, this village is an official Equestria city. The "Riki" people are considered citizens and--" Twilight noticed a tear mark running down my cheek. "What's wrong?" she said. "He got a hug after....wait, how long?" Dash asked. "*sniffle* 10 years." I replied. Twilight and Dash both gasped. "Oh, you poor thing." Twilight said. Twilight hugged me, so did Dash. I felt like I had friends. I smiled and hugged both too. "Hey, guys..." We all turn around to see Wolli and the grey Pony. "Hey Derpy." Dash said. "Mind if we join?" he said. Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and me hugged Wolli and Derpy. "I got an idea!" Twilight said. "Wanna go see Canterlot?" "Sure!" I said. "Let's do it." Dash said. "Why not. I’ve been dying to see a new city." Wolli said. Derpy nodded yes in reply. We all started to walk towards Canterlot. It wasn't far, since Riki village is small. They reached a tunnel that crosses into Canterlot and me and Wolli were amazed. When we reached the end of the tunnel, two security ponies were guarding the gate to Canterlot. "I haven't seen you two people before." one of the guards said. One of the guards saw me and before I knew it, I was pushed onto the ground. Then I heard a rifle cocking and pointed at me. “Who are you?!” one of the guards said. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Wolli, and Derpy yelled. I squeezed my eyes shut, with a tear coming out of my eye, hoping for a miracle. I covered my head with my hooves in despair.

“Stupid rifle!” the guard said.
He checked his clip and saw it was full. The guard reinserted the clip, pulled the bolt, and decided to shoot the wall. It fired perfectly and left a bullet hole on the wall. “What the hay is going on here?!” he shouted. I looked up and saw that my horn was glowing a golden yellow, no longer a silver color. I saw also that my mane was glowing gold where my white stripe used to be. “Oh my goodness, Bass. Your cutie mark….It’s golden!” Twilight said. I looked at my cutie mark and it was the same, only it was glowing gold. “Bass…Your eyes…They’re beautiful!” Dash said with excitement. I looked in my pocket for a mirror and got a rectangular piece and looked at my eyes. They were no longer sky blue. Now they are yellowish gold. “Ok. Maybe you are an Alicorn.” The guard stated. “But I got to see if you can get into Canterlot.” The guard went in the shack and picked up the phone. I didn’t notice. I was still staring at my own eyes in the mirror. ‘What power am I meant to have?’ I thought. ‘What talents do I even have?’ Just as I thought that, my eyes turned back to sky blue. My cutie mark also stopped glowing gold and turned back to being black and white. My mane also turned back to its black and white stripe style. “You can pass. Johnson, let ‘em through.” The guard stated. Twilight and Rainbow helped me up, since that “event” that happened caused me to become weak. Derpy and Wolli were following us from behind. As sooner as we reached the end of the tunnel, we saw a town otherwise known as “Ponyville.” “Well, we’re here!” Twilight said. I was placed on the ground and I regained balance. Rainbow Dash began to say: “So about this…” She reached in my pocket with her hoof and pulled out my cell phone. “…what is this?” “Oh, that?” I said. “That’s my PearPhone.” “You’re what?” Twilight asked, confusingly. “I don’t know If your world has technology, but ours do and it’s a lot of stuff to handle our everyday lives.” I said. “Wait.” I used my magic to teleport my backpack from my house to here. It appeared and my magic was keeping it on the air. I opened it and pulled out my laptop. “This is a PearBook. So far, it’s giving me no problems.” I said. “If you want to use it, feel free.” I placed it on the ground with my magic and Rainbow Dash walked up to my laptop. She touched the Power button with her hoof and the laptop hummed with power. The screen showed a desktop, the wallpaper being a blueprint of an old Zen teleportation model. “Wow, that’s an interesting machine.” Dash said. We saw Applejack walk up to us and said: “Whose gizmos are these?” “They belong to me, but if you want to use them, feel free.” I said. Applejack picked up my laptop and she clicked something. Music started to play out of it. “What’s this kind of music?” she asked. “That’s ‘Rock N Roll’, greatest genre of music I know.” I said. “Wait, do rock ‘n’ roll bands use those drums and guitars, basses and singers?” AJ asked. “Sure is.” I replied. “Why? Heard a song before?” “I actually have a favorite band. ‘Bush’.” AJ told me. Wait, “Bush”? I thought. Does she mean “Rush”? I asked: “What album do you like?” “It’s called: ‘Rushing Pictures’.” AJ said. Unreal. A Rush act-a-like band in Equestria. “Let me guess, did they sing ‘Tom Sawyer’?” I asked. “Actually…YES! That’s my favorite song!” AJ said with excitement. Applejack handed me my laptop and I found the “Tom Sawyer” MP3 on my music folder. I started to play it and Rainbow Dash followed the drumline with her hoof. From my view, Rainbow Dash is really enjoying the music that me and Applejack like to listen to. “Hey RD!” I said. “This your first time listening to rock?” “Yea! And I’m sure enjoing this!” Rainbow Dash said. Suddenly, the clouds covered the blue sky and it quickly turned gray around. “Oh Nuts.” Dash said. “I forgot about Weather Control changing the pattern.” I quickly put my laptop into my backpack and I used my magic to place it on my back. Then me, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Twilight Sparkle decided to run over to Twilight’s house. It was starting to pour, and I started to get wet. We all saw Twilight’s tree house and we went inside. God, I felt wet. My mane was hanging down, so was my tail. My fur felt heavy, and my glasses were covered in raindrops. I saw that RD, AJ, and Twilight were also wet. Me and the other ponies in the room shaked their bodies to dry themselves. Twilight, then, grabbed me by the hoof and showed me to the balcony. With a view of Ponyville and Riki Village, it did look nice. It was still raining outside, but we didn’t care. “Bass….I wanted to tell you this privately. I think you should move in to Ponyville.” Twilight offered. “That doesn’t seem to be a problem to me.” I said. Having a home in Ponyville helps me think that this could be my true home. “Do you think it’s ok if I have a roommate?” I asked. “Actually…I have a pony of interest.” Twilight mentioned. “He has an ice blue coat, Sky blue mane with a white stripe on the right, same for the tail. His cutie mark is a siver 4-pointed star with diamonds at corners. His name is ‘Luster Glimmer’.” Good. A roommate pony. This can at least make me feel a little less insane. “Well, rain’s lettin’ up.” AJ said. “We should go home.” Everypony, except me went home. “Thanks, Twilight. I can at least feel less nervous.” I said. Twilight gave me a piece of paper that has a drawing of what is, my new house. “612 Maple. It’s just around the corner.” Twilight told me. I left the tree house and went to 612 Maple, just near Twilight’s house. I went in and put my backpack in my closet. I went in the bed that was upstairs and decided to get some rest.
[The next day…]
“Get away….get away….GET AWAY!” I was in a place called Dust2 where I was all alone vs. four different terrorists. I have a m4a1 rifle that has only 10 bullets left in its clip. I had no more mags. A terrorist popped out in front of me and tried to stab me with his knife. I was able to kill it with 2 bullets. “Damn, gun’s jammed.” I said to myself. Then the terrorist’s snook up behind me and grabbed my arms. The one terrorist grabbed my rifle and pointed it at me. *ring* He bolted the rifle. *ring* then he was about to pull the trigger. “NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO---“ “—OOOOOOOOO!” I yelled. I awoke from that horrible nightmare. I heard my phone ring. I used my magic to pick it up and looked at the caller ID. It was Twilight. I answered it. “Hey Bass. I heard that Luster Glimmer just left Canterlot via train. Can you go to the train station and get him? He’ll arrive in an hour.” “Sure thing. Thanks for waking me from that nightmare.” I said. “dust2?” Twilight asked. “Yep.” I replied. I hung up the phone and got out of bed. I made my bed so that I didn’t look like a slob. I got my vest on and I decided to skip wearing my hat. I went downstairs to the kitchen and made myself some hay and coffee. I went out the door and headed for train station.
A few hours later, I was sitting on a bench waiting for the 9:30 to arrive. I grabbed my phone and decided to listen to a “Bush” album. Just when I did, the train from Canterlot arrived. I saw less people get off this train. Then I saw Luster Glimmer get off and he easily spotted me. Being an obvious alicorn is at least not hard. Luster walked up to me and said: “Hello. You must be Bass Groove.” “Yea, that’s me. Hope you like being roommates.” I said. “Sure,” Luster replied. “We can live in an apartment, if there is any.” I told him about the house Twilight got me and that we are going to be sharing that. “Sounds nice, let’s go!” Luster said. We both left the train station and headed for my new house. We both left the train station and headed for my new house. Me and Luster went to 614 Maples and we both went inside. I noticed something on the wall: a TV with a note on it. “From Twilight” it said on the front. “How did this get here?” I said. I opened the note and it said: “I brought this from your old house. Can you show me how it works later?” I thought maybe this could be a good experience for Twilight to know about other technologies. I found my XBOX in one of the boxes and also Rock Band 3, there was a Guitar and Microphone also in the box for the game. “Mind If I try signing?” Luster asked. “…Sure.” I said. I put the disc in the tray and the game loaded. “Any song you want?” I asked. “Try Random.” Luster replied. I did so, and the song was labeled “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac. While it was loading, I was trying to figure out how to use the bass controller, since I became a pony. I used my magic to try to strum and hold the controller while my hoof pressed the fret buttons. Well that works, I hope. I thought. The song was starting and I got nervous. I was starting to sweat. My note came, and I tried to press the correct button with my hoof and strum with my magic. I hit the notes. Luster looked at me with excitement. Wow. I can play bass like this, but let’s try something different. I paused the game and put the bass down. I tried to stand only on my hind legs. I seemed to balance. Then I picked up the Bass with my magic and put the strap on my neck. Guitar Pick saw me through the window and came in my house. “What are you doing?” he asked? “What? I’m gonna play Rock Band 3.” I replied. Guitar Pick looked around and saw my roommate. “Who is this pony?” He asked. “Guitar, meet Luster Glimmer.” I said. Luster and Guitar brohoof’ed each other. “Mind If I join?” Guitar asked? “Sure.” I said. “Let me get you another controller.” I used my magic to give Guitar Pick a controller. Guitar got on his hind legs and got set up like I did. We were about to start again. Guitar Pick kicked off the song with a sustained note. I hit the bass frets with one hoof on the strum and the other hitting the fret buttons. Luster’s lyric track was starting to have lines scrolling to the silver line, where he has to sing the word. Then all I heard out of Luster’s voice was:

I was stunned at Luster’s beautiful voice. No. I was awestruck! Guitar and I continued to hit the correct notes. Luster was singing the lyrics in a beautiful and awesome voice. The song ended and we Achieved 100% on all notes hit. Then it hit me: Let’s create a band. “Hey, Guitar? Want to form a band?” Luster asked. I laughed in my head because I was about to ask that. “YES! Let’s form our band. All we need is a Drummer.” Guitar said. *Ring.* The phone rang and I checked the caller ID. “It’s Pogo.” I said. I answered it and said hello. Pogo then said: “Hey, Bass. Twilight’s having lunch with me and Rainbwo Dash. Want to join us?” I thought hard, then I asked: “Luster, wanna hang with Guitar for a little?” Luster nodded with a yes. “Sure, I can join you.” I replied on the phone. I grabbed my backpack and used my magic to put it on my back. Then I got on my hind legs and did an air bass riff. Then I got on my fours again and head out the door.
When I got the restaurant, I saw Twilight and Rainbow having a Daisy and Daffodil sandwich. My stomach rumbled. Good lord, I need to eat. Then I saw Pogo come out of the door with a plate of….hay? “Uhhh, Pogo?” I asked. “What?” Pogo said. “I like to try different things.” I snickered a little before sitting with Twilight and Dash. Pogo sat next to me. “Mind if I try some hay?” I asked. Pogo gave me a handful of hay and placed it on my hoof. I took a bite and….wow. It tasted like a French fry back in New Riki City. “So, Bass,” Dash started. “I was wondering if you need a backup Guitarist for your band.” “How did you know you were starting a band?” I asked. “I didn’t.” Dash said suddenly. “I thought maybe on ‘Rock Band’ or something.” I smiled and said: “You can join as rhythm guitarist, Rainbow Dash.” Then Rainbow Dash walked up to me and offered a hug. Another in a week, I…. I felt appreciated. I got up and hugged Rainbow Dash. She squeezed me this time however. A tear ran down my face again. When I opened my eyes, I saw a blue Pegasus pony with a green vest and sweatbands. He is wearing a watch and has a red and orange-striped mane, same color on the tail. What caught my attention was his cutie mark. A drummer! I thought to myself. Rainbow Dash stopped hugging me and turned around. She also saw this pony as well. “Hey, so I heard you have a band forming.” The blue Pony said. Rainbow Dash and I looked at each other. Finally, Dash said: “I sort of told him about your new band. Bass, meet Drum Sticks.” Drum Sticks. That name actually fits his style. “Thanks, Dash. I think he’ll fit in.” I said. I lead Drum Sticks with us to our home. Dash followed in the back. When Me, Drum, and Dash went inside our house, Guitar and Luster looked at Drum at confusion. After I told them both about who Drum Stick’s is, they all cheered with excitement. “YES, we got ourselves a band.” We all said. Then I mentioned: “Practice on Rock Band?” They all nodded in agreement, so did Dash. I handed Rainbow Dash another guitar controller and we all practiced for that day.
