I sat down at the empty lunch table and observed the pamphlet the pink-haired girl from this morning gave me while taking a bite of my apple. As I read it, the girl from this morning was on my mind. She sure was a cutie. I'm surprised that I have feelings for her, and yet I don't even know her or her name.
"I should've gotten that girls' name." I thought to myself as I read the last paragraph.
Before I could finish up the final sentence, the pamphlet was yanked out of my hands. I looked to whoever took it and it turned out to be Sunset Shimmer. She looked at it for a couple of seconds then back to me.
"Volunteers for the animal shelter, huh? Let me guess, you got this from Fluttershy, didn't you?" she said as she looked down at me with an evil grin.
"Who?" I asked giving her a cocked eyebrow.
"You idiot! Fluttershy! She's the girl with the pink hair and she hands these out every Wednesday." she retorted as she smacked me behind my head.
"So her name's Fluttershy." I thought.
"Why did you get one of these anyway?" she asked as she lifts my head up by my hair.
"I-i-i-i don't know. I t-t-thought it would be nice." I said.
"You couldn't do it. By the time you enter that place and ask for the job, you'll puss out immediately and run home to mommy." she said as she let go of my head.
"Go away." I said softly
"What was that, loser? I couldn't hear ya?" said Sunset as she cupped her ear close to me.
"I SAID,'GO AWAY'!!!!" I shouted out of anger.
Everyone in the cafeteria stared at me, including Sunset Shimmer.
"WHY DON'T YOU GO BUG SOMEONE ELSE, YOU SKANK!!"
Everyone gasped as they looked at me knowing that I've screwed up. I did.
Sunset looked at me with fury in her eyes and raised her right arm.
"YOU LITTLE SHIT!!" said Sunset as she slapped me across the left side of my face, which made me collapsed to the floor along with my glasses flying away to the right.
I fell with a thud. I slowly got back up, but was stopped by Sunset's boot that slammed onto my right shoulder.
"Aghhh!" I yelled out of pain.
"Listen up, you little shit. If you ever call me anything again, I'll make you suffer. Got it?" she said as she rammed her boot harder against my shoulder.
"Y-Y-Y-YES! I WON'T DO IT AGAIN! I SWEAR!" I cried out of pain.
"You better." she said as she took her boot off of me.
I lay there on the ground terrified. I quivered out of fear and waited for Sunset to leave, but instead, as I turned my head, she grabbed ahold of my orange juice and spilled it all over my face.
"See ya, loser." she said as she threw the juice carton at my face and walked off.
"God, I hate her. I hope she burns in hell." I thought as I crawled over to get my glasses.
As I placed them on my face, I looked to my right and some people were still staring at me. I was on the verge to running out of this school, but I couldn't do that. Instead I put my backpack in front of myself so that I can hide my face from everyone's gaze. I then got my phone and ear buds out and blasted out some music so that I wouldn't hear about my humiliation.
As I stood there out of possibly humiliation from what Sunset Shimmer did to me, I felt a hand on my left shoulder and immediately made me jolt out of my seat. As I looked to who it was, it was the girl I met this morning holding out napkins for me. I took my ear buds out and stared back at everyone else who was busy possibly talking about whatever. I then looked back at Fluttershy.
"W-w-what do you want?" I asked.
She stretched out her arm with napkin at hand towards my head.
"Hey! W-w-what are you d-" I was cutoff as she softly pressed the napkin on my face and slowly wiped away the juice that was on my face.
I locked eyes with Fluttershy's as she continued wiping my face with the napkins that she had in her other hand.
"What a meanie she is. I'm so sorry that you were hurt by her." she said as she gave me a sad expression.
My heart was beating quickly again. I didn't know what to say. No one was this nice to me.
"T-t-thank you." I said while I began to blush.
"You're welcome." she replied as she gave me a faint smile.
I can't believe that this girl cares about me. I haven't been this cared for in such a long time. I then began to tear up and cover my face to not let Fluttershy seeing me like this. As I cried, I felt her left arm wrapped around my back and grabbing ahold of my head with her other arm and letting my head rest on her chest. I then felt her head rest on top of mine.
"Don't worry. You're safe now. Go ahead. It's ok to let it out." she said as she rubbed the back of my head tenderly.
I felt tears coming out of my eyes again and began to sob on her chest as she hugged me tighter as a mother would do for her child during a tough situation.
After sobbing for about five minutes, I was beginning to feel better and the both of us stood back up.
"Are you feeling any better?" she asked.
"I-i-i feel better, I guess." I replied.
"That's good to hear." she said giving me a smile that made my heart beat rapidly.
"U-u-um, is your name 'Fluttershy' b-b-by any chance?"
"Yes. Who told you that?"
"Sunset Shimmer told me about you. She seems to know you."
"Don't worry about her. As long as I'm with you, she won't bully you." she said to me in a protective manner.
"I guess I was right about what I said this morning about her. She really is an angel that came to my side." I thought.
"Y-y-you're so sweet." I said, as I blushed harder than ever.
Fluttershy looked at me with surprise, then looked away blushing.
"Thank you." she said softly.
There was a bit of silence and then Fluttershy looked back at me.
"I was thinking, would you like to hang out with me and my friends? You know, I've notice that you always sit here alone and watch things on your phone. Yesterday, I noticed you crying about something? What's wrong? You can tell me." she said as she placed her right hand on my left shoulder.
"W-w-w-well…. I'm just lonely." I said looking down at the floor.
Fluttershy removes her hand off my shoulder and looked at a different direction. I looked towards where she was staring and saw her friends waving at her to get her attention to sit with them.
"Why don't you hang out with me and my friends? We have room for more on our table." she asked me as she turned her head towards me.
"I've never been asked to sit with a group of people before. I hope I don't embarrass myself in front of them." I thought.
"S-s-sure. I guess." I said while looking at Fluttershy in the eye.
"Oh, good." she said as she grabbed me by the hand and pulled me along with her.
My God her hands were soft. My heart was beating quickly again as my face was getting redder than ever.
"Are y-" Fluttershy was cutoff possibly because she saw how red my face was.
This was starting to remind me of a certain scene from the Monster Musume manga when Kimihito held onto Centorea's hand and she was blushing. I was having that exact same moment with Fluttershy holding onto my hand.
"Oh, um. Sorry." she said as she let go of my hand making a little blush.
"Oh, no. N-n-nothing's wrong." I said as I waved my hand back and forth.
We walked closer to the table and her friends waved at her and me. I waved back shyly without looking at them. She sat down near Rarity and then she looked back up at me.
"Here, sit down." she said as she patted at the empty space where I could sit.
I slowly sat down and looked down at her friends. I especially looked over to Rarity who was looking rather sad for me. She then stood up and placed a hand on my right shoulder. I jumped not knowing what she was going to say to me. I bet she's still angry about what I did yesterday.
"Darling about yesterday."
The moment she said that, I could tell this could end badly. I began to sweat a lot like something out of a basketball manga.
"Don't worry. Accidents happen." she said as she let go of my shoulder.
"So she isn't angry at me? I thought she was gonna go ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA! on me."
"Yeah. hehehe. Accidents happen." I said to her.
"Also, sorry for not having to introduce myself to you when we met, my name's Rarity." she said as she patted my shoulder and headed back down to where she sat before.
"Name's Applejack." said the girl with a cowgirl hat.
"The name's Rainbow Dash, but you can call me Dash for short." said the girl with multicolor hair.
"Pinkie!" said the pink poofy-haired girl as she waved her hand at me rapidly.
I slowly lifted my hand up while quivering.
"N-n-n-nice to meet you girls. M-m-m-my name's Jake." I replied looking a bit pale.
"Oh God. I hope I don't embarrass myself again." I thought as I began to sweat.
"So Fluttershy, how did you meet him?" asked Rarity.
"We bumped into each other this morning and all of my pamphlets went flying. He was nice enough to help me pick them up and taught me a funny phrase called, 'Hakuna Matata'." said Fluttershy as she giggled over the phrase.
"'Hakuna Matata'? What's that?" asked Rainbow Dash as she looked at my direction.
All of the girls stared at me waiting for an answer.
"W-w-well, it means -"
"OH! I KNOW!" shouted Pinkie out of excitement cutting me off.
"What is it, Pinkie?" asked Applejack.
"It means,'no worries'. I heard it from The Lion King."
"Oh, The Lion King. I haven't seen that movie in a long time." said Rainbow Dash.
"I love that movie!" said Rarity.
"Now that's an animated classic." said Applejack.
"I'm sorry but, what is The Lion King?" asked Fluttershy.
The girls and I looked at Fluttershy out of surprise without blinking once.
"Fluttershy, you don't know what The Lion King is? You love animals and yet you've never seen The Lion King? I might as well give you a little synopsis of what the film is about, darling."
While the girls distract Fluttershy about what the film is about, I might as well sneak out my iPhone and continue watching the top best Naruto openings.
While getting to 2nd best Naruto opening, I noticed a shadow coming from behind me. I slowly turned around and saw Pinkie's head near my left shoulder looking down on my iPhone screen.
"What are ya whatchin'?" she asked with a smile.
"O-o-oh, these are t-t-the best openings of Naruto." I replied without looking at her.
"Ahhhhh, so you're an anime fan. Aren't you?" she said.
"Y-y-yeah. W-w-what about it?" I asked as I began to shake.
"I feel as if she's gonna bully me like Sunset would. I hope she doesn't called me a 'looser'." I thought.
"Oh, it's nothing. I wouldn't care if you were a guy that was into anime girls rather than real girls." she said while giving me a big smile.
"Hehehehehe, yeah. If I was like that." I laughed sarcastically.
"HOW DID THIS GIRL KNOW THAT?!?!" I screamed internally.
Pinkie went back to her seat as the girls sound like they were finishing up about the just of the film.
"My gosh, it sounds interesting." said Fluttershy.
"It's worth the watching, Fluttershy." said Rarity.
"Oh yeah, also, hey, Jake. Sorry about what Sunset did to you over there." said Ranbow Dash.
"Sugarcube, don't worry. We've also been bullied by her." said Applejack.
"You guys too?" I asked giving them a cocked eyebrow.
"Yes, darling. You aren't the only one being bullied by her. She's been like this the moment she came to this school." said Rarity.
"Jake, you are not alone." said Fluttershy as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
"T-t-thanks. I feel m-much better." I said.
"Why don't you smile?" said Pinkie.
"S-s-smile?"
"You should feel happy knowing that got us by your side." said Pinkie as she hopped over to me.
"Yeah sugarcube. A friend of Fluttershy is a friend of ours." joined in Applejack.
"Y-y-you guys wanna be my f-f-friends?"
"Sure we do. You seem like a cool guy." said Rainbow Dash.
"So smile for us. You can't be with us unless you smile." said Pinkie as she grabbed ahold of my mouth to make it look like I'm smiling.
I could help but try my best to smile in front of these girls. I gave it all I got and started doing something that I may regret doing.
"Derishishishishishi!!" I laughed out loud.
I looked over to the girls that had a rather confused look on their faces, except for Pinkie. She looked as if she was gonna burst out laughing.
"What the heck kind of laugh is that?" said Rainbow Dash.
"I d-d-d-did the laugh of Jaguar D. Saul from One Piece. H-h-he had a laugh that always m-m-makes me smile. It was one of my favorite laughs out there. Y-you know what, being with you guys reminds me of a quote from him. I-i-it goes,' There is nothing more ridiculous than being born in this world to be alone. Someday you will meet brave friends who will protect you. Go and live with them.'"
I then began to cry tears of joy knowing that I now had friends who would protect me. I felt Fluttershy wrapping her right arm around me. I looked over to her and she looked as if she was snuggling with me. My heart was pounding again. I looked towards the directions of the other girls who were enjoying the tender moment. Rairty looked as if she was gonna burst tears out of her eyes, Pinkie stood there covering her mouth knowing that she was gonna cry, Rainbow Dash tried her best not to cry, and Applejack stood there smiling.
After being in an embrace for a minute, Fluttershy let goes of me and pats my back.
"Don't worry. We're friends to the end." she said with a smile.
"You swear?" I asked.
"We Pinkie Pie Swear. Cross out hearts and hope to fly, stick a cupcake on our eyes." said Pinkie Pie.
I gave them a smile and another one of Jaguar D. Saul's laughs.
"Derishishishishi." I laughed.
"Derishishishishi." laughed the girls along with me.
As I noticed everyone around us, they all looked at us with smiles on their faces. I bet they think we're funny doing this, but right out of nowhere, everyone in the cafeteria went:
"DERISHISHISHISHISHI!!"
"Hehehe. I just thought of another quote from Jaguar D. Saul,' When you have a hard time, just laugh'." I thought as I made another laugh.
As everyone laughed for five for minutes with my new friends and me, the bell rings. Everyone got up and through away their lunches and headed to class.
"Well, looks like lunch is over. Well, see you around, Jake." said Fluttershy as she got up and walked out the cafeteria doors.
"See ya, Sugarcube." said Applejack as she walked away.
"See you soon, darling." said Rarity as she ruffled around with my hair and walked away.
"See ya." said Ranbow Dash.
"Bye, Jakie! It was fun laughing with you." said Pinkie as she stormed out the cafeteria.
I was the only one left to leave the cafeteria. I got up and placed my backpack straps over my shoulders and walked towards the door.
Before I left, I looked back at the cafeteria with a smile on my face.
"You know, today's been my best day at school ever." I said to my self as I left the cafeteria heading towards my next class.
The final bells have rung and I went through the doors of the school entrance.
As I walked down the sidewalk, I then heard a honk coming from behind me. As I turned around, I notice a hand waving to get my attention.
"Who would want to offer me a ride?" I thought as the car pulled up close to me.
As the car came to complete stop, the window closes down and it turns out to be Rarity on the drivers seat and Rainbow Dash is on the seat next to her.
"Hey, Jake! Wanna lift?" said Rainbow Dash.
"I g-guess so. Why not." I said as the door behind Dash opened up to reveal Pinkie, Applejack, and Fluttershy waving at me.
The girls squished into each other trying to make room for me.
"You know, these girls are the sweetest." I thought as I entered the vehicle and shut the door.
We drove around the neighborhood as one by one of the girls left the vehicle to their homes. All that was left was Fluttershy, Rarity, and I.
"So Jake, where do you live?" asked Rarity.
"Just a few blocks down here." I said as I pointed up ahead.
We drove for about two minutes and then I told her to stop.
We came to a complete as they looked at my house and house nice it looked.
"So this is where you live. I have to say, this looks like a cute house." said Rarity.
"Thanks." I said.
"Looks like your folks aren't here." said Fluttershy.
"My mother usually isn't." I said while looking back at Fluttershy and Rarity that were quite surprised.
"Then how are you living here? Do you have the money to live here? Where do you work? Darling, tell us. We're your friends" asked Rarity.
"Well, w-w-while my mother is away, she does pay for the rent and sometimes send me money for groceries. I usually warm me up something from a can or eat whatever I have around the house. I can't cook. Whenever I do, I always end up screwing things up."
"Do you have a job?" asked Fluttershy.
"B-b-because of my s-social anxiety, I'm t-t-to scared to do that." I replied.
"You know what darling, I'll be back here at this spot tonight around 7 and we're gonna give you the best dinner you've had in a long time." said Rarity as me and Fluttershy looked back at her with our mouths gapping wide open.
"WHAT?!" shouted both me and Fluttershy.
"That's right darling, me and the girls will come here at 7 O'clock to make you a special dinner in honor of becoming our new friend."
A dinner? For me? I haven't had any good cooking in such a long time. Plus, this is also a special dinner.
"S-s-sure. I'll be w-w-waiting for you girls tonight." I said with a nervous smile.
"Ok, darling, see you tonight with the other girls. bye." said Rarity.
"See you, tonight." said Fluttershy waving at me.
"See you girls tonight." I replied as I opened up the door and walked towards my house.
I looked back and waved to the girls as they waved back and drove off.
I turned around and entered my quiet home. As I headed towards the kitchen, I smiled bigger than I had in a long time.
"I'M GONNA HAVE SOME DINNER MADE BY MY NEW FRIENDS!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs out of pure happiness.
"First things first, I need to wear something spiffy." I said to myself as I looked down at my school clothes.
"Good thing I have an issue of 'Long, Tan, & Handsome'." I said as I grabbed ahold of the magazine and looked through it.
