//------------------------------// // No Choice But The TARDIS // Story: Just keeping them safe // by kitkat0528 //------------------------------// "Okay, so the Daleks are out to find our children, and ultimately you, that's a big problem Doctor," I say. The Doctor rolls his eyes. "Derpy, do you still want to go on Adventures?" The Doctor asks me. "Um... I don't know!" I say. He smiles. "Let's go!" He asks. My eyes start to get blurry, but I squeeze them shut, and stop the tears from falling. I smile at the Doctor and kiss him. "What?" I say. I pull my bag and hat off of my head, and gallop out of the door with the Doctor. We gallop down the path that the kids would usually take to get to school. School would have started, so I gallop up into the school door. Stopping right before I hit it. The Doctor is behind me. I open the door to find two rooms. One for the older fillies. One for the younger. The mare at the front desk looks at us. "How can I help you?" She asks. "Um, may we take our children out of school?" I ask. "Sure, just sign here," She hands a clip board with a highlighted mark on the page. I sign the where it's highlighted. I hand her the clap board back. Then she motions for us to go back and take our fillies out. I walk through the open door of Mrs. Cheeraly's class. All eyes are on me and the Doctor. "Um, I need Dinky for the rest of the week. We are... going on a trip," I say. Some kids groan. I hear a few kids say; "That's not fair!" Dinky hops out of her seat and walks out of the room. I open the door to Sparklers class. "We need Sparkler for the rest of the week. Were going on a trip," I say. Sparkler trots over to us from her seat. I smile at how quick she did that. I close the door. We trot out of the school. "Okay, mom? Who is this?" Sparkler asks. She looks the Doctor over and smiles the happiest smile. "This looks an awful lot like how you explained our father looked, and his cutiemark is an hourglass," Sparkler smirks at me. The Doctor's cheeks go red. "It's... just a friend?" I smile at Sparkler. Dinky jumps on top of the Doctor. "Daddy!" Dinky says. The Doctor smiles. "Yes, Dinky. I'm your father," He looks at Sparkler. "Biological, not your mom's boyfriend," He lowers his voice. Sparkler hugs him. I smack my face with my hoof. Why did I tell them? "Derpy, you seriously didn't them anything other than what I look like? Nothing about what we did? Nothing about what I do? Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" He asks. I look away, and nod. "I didn't... I don't know. I was afraid of telling you. I wasn't ready to leave you. But when you thought I was sick, I guess you left for me," I explain, careful not to ad any details about time travel or the TARDIS. "Have... have you told them about what I do?" He asks. I look at him and shame my. He frowns. Dinky ruffles his hair and lays her head on his. He smiles again. "Dinky, why are you already warming up to me?" The Doctor asks. Dinky lifts her head. "Because I always wanted a father. What's a Time Lord? Mommy said that I'm the only one like you, and she said that you can time travel. She also said that your dangerous, like a dare devil," Dinky says. I feel my cheeks burn. The Doctor laughs, looking at me. "Your mother said a great deal of things. She is right. To be with me, your life will be risk almost every second. She is also right about time traveling, you want to come?" He asks. I stare at him. "If mommy let's you, that is," He looks at me and smiles. "Okay, Doctor, nothing more about anything. Remember what I said about keeping them safe?" I ask him. He smirks, then looks at Dinky. "Your a Doctor? Mom, what's so bad about that?" Sparkler asks. I roll my eyes at the Doctor. "That's... just what I call him. What I've always called him. He's not actually a-" "Then why call him that?" Dinky asks, I sigh. "Because of adult reasons. Reasons that you won't understand," I say. Dinky gives my a smug look. "Your going to play the adult card with me? You know very well that I will understand," Dinky says. Sparkler giggles. I smile. "Okay, fine. You-" "Wait a minute!" The Doctor says. "Be quiet," He orders. We all stay silent. I don't hear anything. "Daleks!" He exclaims. I gasp. "How could... They shouldn't be here," I say. The Doctor nods. "Listen, Derpy. We need to draw them out of here. I need to get into the TARDIS and draw them to space. Either we do this or not. I really don't want to go alone, and I can't leave you now. Please, either save an entire pony race, and all four of us go, or we sit down here like cowards, and the Daleks capture us, and let the pony race be destroyed," The Doctor explains. I suck in a breath. "I... I'll do it," I tell him. The Doctor smiles. "I didn't think you were going to say that. Geronimo?" He asks. I think for a second. Do I really want to do this? Yes! Do it! Do it! You should save this pony race. You should also save your daughters. I just hope I get both. "Geronimo," I tell him. The Doctor smiles. "Come on, girls. Let's go on an adventure!" The Doctor starts galloping towards the ever free forest. "I landed the TARDIS in the ever free forest," He says. Dinky and Sparkler look at me with confused faces. I mouth "Explain Later" to them. We run deep into the ever free, and I start to worry. I start hearing EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! DESTROY THE DOCTOR! DESTROY ALL TIME LORDS! EXTERMINATE! Were close to the Daleks. Dinky jumps off of the Doctor. "Mommy, what is that? I've been hearing it ever since we started trotting out of school," Dinky says. I sigh. "Daleks. Doctor? Where is the TARDIS?" I ask desperately. The Doctor thinks for a second. "Just this way, only a little-" "KILL THE DOCTOR! KILL THE DOCTOR! KILL ALL TIME LORDS!" The voices are close. The Daleks are close. Dinky hides behind my hoof. Sparkler hides behind the Doctor. "Dad, what's going to happen, please tell me there isn't any danger," Sparkler pleads. The Doctor strokes Sparklers mane. "I'm going to have to say no to that," The Doctor takes out his sonic screw driver. "Derpy, the TARDIS is that way," He points in a direction. "I want you to grab your children and do one thing; Run." I suck in a breath, before I pick up Dinky, and grab Sparklers hoof. I run. I run as fast as I can in the direction he pointed. I don't even look back, I just run until I find a big blue police box. Daleks are everywhere. I bolt into the TARDIS before slamming the doors shut. I let out the breath. Daleks start pounding on the door. But they won't get in. "M-Mom? What's going to happen to Dad? Is he coming too?" Sparkler asks. I look as Dinky, then back at Sparkler. "I... Yes. I promise, that Daddy will comeback I promise," I say. I don't know if I can keep this promise, but I think it's more for myself than for Sparkler. We wait. One minute. Two minutes. Five minutes. Eight minutes. A full ten minutes. I worry so much. Thirteen minutes. Fifteen minutes. Seventeen minutes. Twenty minutes! This is taking to long. I think I need to- "Derpy! DERPY! Dinky, Sparkler, someone, open up!" I hear. I push the door open, and the Doctor jumps in, closing the door behind him. "Doctor!" I cry. I jump into him and kiss him. At first it's soft, but then I kiss him hard. I have waited for this moment for a while. He kisses me back, with desperation, and I know that he loves me. I pull back and hug him. Tears starting to fall down my cheeks. "Derpy hooves," He says. I can hear that he's smiling, in his voice. "I love you more than anything. I think our little marriage that we had in the small chapel meant something. Now, let's go kick some bloody Daleks!" He says. I smile. Then, I trot to the control panel, and press a few different buttons. "Everybody hold on tight!" The Doctor says. Dinky and Sparkler hold each other to keep stable. The TARDIS shakes and groans. I laugh. I've missed this so much. I can feel us flying up into the air. I can't wait to fight these Daleks and hurt more of them once again. Then we stop. There isn't the usual slam, like when we hit the ground, but there's a small jerk, because we are up in space. I look out from one of the windows, and see the Daleks space ship. I also see Daleks coming up into it. Great. "Now, we just have to kill the head Dalek and let them float off somewhere into space," The Doctor says. Dinky smiles excitingly, Sparkler starts dancing around, and I kiss the Doctor again. Mostly to thank him for saving me from a life of guilt. For saving me from a normal life. And for being my friend. For being my companion.
