The New Adventures of Sonata Dusk

by The Forgotten Siren

Time For Ice Cream Sonata Dusk

“Oh my gosh, I am so happy for you Sona!” Pinkie Pie squeed as she jumped for joy. Both Pinkie and Sonata were leaving the cool restaurant and into the blistering heat of the day. “Now you have fun news to tell Adagio!” The pink girl said with a huge smile.

“I know right?” Sonata answered happily as she held her best friend’s hand and started walking down the street. “Hey I should totally tell her now.” The blue siren said.

“Totally!” Pinkie agreed . “But first, we should get you an ice cream cone to celebrate!” She added, not just to reward her friend for a job well done, but because she craved the sweet treat.

“That sounds great.” Sonata smile as Pinkie Pie tugged her along to the ice cream shop.

Pinkie and Sonata skipped down the street until they stopped at a big blue sign with a penguin on it. The sigh read “King Charlton’s Ice Cream Shop” in big bold print. “Yay, we made it.” Sonata said whipping the sweat of her forehead.

As the girls opened the door, a blast of cold air met their sweaty bodies. They both enjoyed the nice chill wrapping around them as they walked up to the counter, were a tall huge man with black hair and ice blue skin was talking to someone. “Son, I don’t care how cold it is in here. If anyone has an issue with the temperature, then let them stay outside where it is hot. I refuse to change the AC because of them.” The huge manager said annoyed.

“Excuse us?” Sonata said, waving her hand to get the man’s attention. “We need ice cream.”

The tall man turned around and saw both girls smiling back at him. He cleared his throat as he stood up straight to present himself to the customers. “Greetings, I am Mr. Charlton. Welcome to the greatest ice cream shop in the world. We have over a hundred flavors for your liking. What would you li-” He was cut off by Pinkie Pie who eagerly blurted out her order.

“I want a triple ice cream cone with vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, with extra rainbow sprinkles on top.” The hyper pink girl said with a squee.

“Yeah and I want a cookie and cream ice cream cone dipped in chocolate.” Sonata added with the order.

“Coming right up.” Mr. Charlton’s son said, getting their order while Mr. Charlton rang up the price. “That will be $6.50 please.” Mr. Charlton stated.

The girls paid him and got their desired treats and left the store smiling.

The girls were then headed to the Museum to see Adagio to tell her the good news about Sonata getting a job. As they were walking, somebody slammed into Sonata, causing her to fall down and her ice cream to fly right out of her hand. Sonata lifted her head to see that her ice cream had splattered all over the pavement. Tears began to fill the blue girl’s eyes as Pinkie helped her up. The person that slammed into her, glared at her. “HEY WATCH WHERE YO-.” The boy soon choked on his words as he saw Sonata’s face in tears. Sonata looked at the boy and saw it was Hoop. Hoop started to break out in a sweat as he remembered the last time her hurt Sonata. Years ago he and his friends thought it would be funny to throw a football at Sonata and laugh at her pain. However, their deeds didn’t go unpunished, because the next day, Adagio and Aria came to put them in their place. Hoop remembered Aria’s tight grip around his balls and how they almost popped. The boy started crying. “Oh my god I’m so so so sorry.” Tears ran down his face as he trembled in fear. “Pleased don’t tell you siren friends.” He begged.

“You knocked down my ice cream.” Sonata said sniffing.

Hoop looked at the ground and saw what his deeds had done. He was skating and not paying attention to where he was going and now he made the siren’s ice splatter all over the pavement. He gulped as he dug into his pockets pulling out money and gave her $2.15 of change. “There take it, take it all. I’m sorry.” He cried as he ran the other way.

“Well that was nice of him huh Sona?” Pinkie asked with a smile. But she soon looked at her friend’s sad face and begin to frown herself. It hurt Pinkie’s heart to see her friends in pain, especially Sonata. “Hey, I know. How about I share my ice cream with you?” Pinkie asked with a small smile.

“For..for realzies?” Sonata answered looking at her friend.

“Yeah, anything to make you smile again Sona.” Pinkie replied back giving Sonata a hug. Sonata returned the hug with a smile on her face. “Thanks Pinkie.”

Finally, Pinkie and Sonata were at the museum. As they entered the doors, they saw a very shot man with a mighty beard and green cap at the front desk. “Hello and welcome to the History Museum.” The man greeted. “My name is Mr. Moochick. I own this wonderful museum.”

Pinkie gasped as she saw the man. “Oh my gosh, do you live in a magical mushroom with a pet rabbit? And make weird crap that is useless?” Pinkie asked randomly.

“Ho-ho-ho-ho no ma’am.” Mr. Moochick chuckled. “But I do have a pet rabbit. Oh, by the way miss.” He says looking at Sonata. “You have something on your nose.”

“On no a mosquito?” Sonata panic.

“He-he-he no silly-nata.” Pinkie lean in and licked the chocolate off her nose. “Hehe its ice cream.” The Pink girl smiled.

“Its so nice to see a beautiful couple.” Mr. Moochick said assuming.

Pinkie and Sonata looked at the little man in confusion. “Huh?” They both said.

“We’re just best friends.” Pinkie said smiling.

“Yeah, like our school mates Lyra and Bon Bon.” Sonata added. “We do everything together, like tell stories, go shopping, go parting, and even share food and holding hands.” Sonata squeed.

“Oh.. Um yes, that is what best friends do I suppose.” Mr. Moochick said in confusion. “Um, so what brings you here?”

Sonata soon remembered the reason they came to the Museum in the first place.”Oh shoot, we are looking for Adagio and Sunset.”

“Yeah, Sona here got a job and we are going to surprise Adagio, but don’t tell her because it’s a surprise.” Pinkie added.

“Oh yes, well thats wonderful news yes.” Mr. Moochick congratulated. “Just let me find the intercom switch.” He says as he looks behind his desk moving things around. “Hmm ok where is it? No thats not it...thats the button for...no this is a sock....hmm oh my sandwich, I wonder where that went to.”

“Hey isn’t that the button to the intercom?” Pinkie asked pointing at the red button behind the desk.

Mr. Moochick looked over and saw it. “Oh yes, yes thats the intercom, thanks little lady.” He says as he presses the button. “Eh heem, will Adagio please come to the front desk? Adagio front desk, your friends are looking for you.”

After about five minutes, Adagio and Sunset walked up. Sunset smiled as she saw it was her two friends. “HI SUNSET! HI ADAGIO!” Pinkie screamed, waving at them. Sunset waved back. “Hi Pinkie, what’s up?”

“Sona has some really, really FUN news!” Pinkie said hyperly.

“Really Sonata, what is it?” Adagio asked raising an eye brow.

“I got a JOB!” Sonata replied just as hyper as Pinkie.

“Yeah, isn’t that fun?” Pinkie added.

“Yes, great job Sonata.” Sunset said smiling.

“Yes, congrates.” Adagio said. “What job you get?”

“I work at the Tasty Taco.” Sonata replied.

Sunset looked at her blue friend with a concern look. “Isn’t that place crappy and about to shut down?”

“No, Sonata is so great at cooking that it blew the managers minds and the hippie cashiers mind even further at just how good Sonata’s cooking is, that they decided to reopen and have Sonata work their as their number one cook.” Pinkie answered in one breathe.

“Well good job Sonata.” Adagio said. “Now after graduation we will look for a place for you to live.

“Live?” Sonata asked confused.

“Yes, we can’t stay at the Alternative house forever.” Adagio replied back. “You are going to have to live on your own, just like Sunset and I.”

Sonata started to become sad at he news. Her smile turned to a frown as she looked at the ground. “But... I don’t wanna be alone.”

“HEY, I got an idea.” Pinkie cheered. “Why don’t we I’ve together?”

Sonata soon perked up as she heard those words and looked at Pinkie. “For realzies?.

“Yea, we can live together, that way you are never alone and I will make sure of it.” Pinkie replied enthusiastically.

“Are you sure Pinkie? I mean-“ Sunset was cut off by Adagio.

“I think it’s a great idea.” Adagio smiled. “How about you two go celebrate with each other?” the yellow siren suggested.

“Oh my gosh, yes lets go SONA he-he-he-he.” Pinkie giggled.

“Ok” Sonata answered as both girls went outside to go celebrate.

Sunset looked at Adagio in confusion. “Um, are you sure about this Adagio?” The girl asked.

“Yes, I can just feel it in both their hearts.” Adagio said looking at her girlfriend. “Those two are meant for each other, just like us.” The yellow siren says as she leans in and kisses Sunset on the lips.
