The Gala

Applejack couldn't help but wonder how nice it would be to be able to teleport. She could go anywhere, anytime, without having to worry about the trip there. The rush of magic was something she always wanted to experience, but knew she couldn't. Well, she loved her connection with the earth much more than magic. She turned to the next chapter, titled The Gala.

Princess Celestia had invited me to the Grand Galloping Gala. Of course, I was flattered by the offer to go to the fanciest party in Equestria, but I was nervous. I have heard that there were many high class ponies that attended, and that I wouldn't fit in because of my farm labor. I ignored that thought and flew to Canterlot, wanting to get more flight practice in.

I soon arrived. Even though the Gala was later that evening, Princess Celestia wanted me to help earlier. I went into the castle and was given a checklist. I then had to go through the castle and gardens, and make sure everything was perfect.

Soon, the sun began to set. It was almost time for the Gala to start. I knew Applejack and her friends were going to be there, so I would have at least somepony to talk to if things get awkward.

I soon saw a big line of ponies walking in. Suddenly, a song was being sung. I soon heard Applejack singing. She had told me that she wanted to go to sell things for the family, but I honestly didn't expect her to make a song out of it.

Soon, the song went by, fireworks were set off, and the party officially begun. Princess Celestia was on the top of the main stairs, greeting everypony who walked in. I didn't see Princess Luna, but I figured that Celestia put her on night watch.

I walked into the main room, where an orchestra was playing. They were really great musicians. I was then approached by three fine looking mares.

Well, I'm happy that is over and done with. All the mares wanted were autographs and to flirt. Well, I guess that's what mares do to princes these days. Man, I'm getting real sick of being called "Prince Charming".

Oh well. They took away most of the time for me. Now, I had only about a half hour left. As soon as that thought crossed my mind, I saw my sister walk in the room with a gigantic cake, that honestly looked really good. When I was about to walk up to her, her pink friend hopped off the stage and landed on the light side of the cart, flinging the cake towards Rarity and another stallion. The stallion blocked himself with Rarity, which caused the Element of Generosity to get real mad. She flung cake all over the stallion, causing him to back into a statue, which fell. Rainbow Dash made an attempt to catch it, but it snapped in two as she was holding it up.

I couldn't believe what just happened. I didn't believe it could get any worse.

Well, I was wrong. Momentarily, Applejack's shy friend came bursting through the door, letting the animals from the garden in.

"You're... going... to LOVE ME!" She shouted, causing the animals to cause chaos in the Gala. Princess Celestia soon came in, silenced everypony, and moved the animals out.

I had donuts with Applejack and her friends afterwards. It was mighty embarrassing to tell them that I was surrounded by mares the whole time.

A few minutes after we sat down, Princess Celestia walked in. She helped the six realize that tonight was their best night ever.

Well, it certainly wasn't mine. It was fine; none the less. They all then started laughing, causing me to laugh along as well.

After our little giggle fit, Celestia told me that she would see me in Canterlot the next day; for I was needed somewhere. I nodded and gave her a friendly smile, ready for the next day.
