//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: What one can't have? // by Miralusa //------------------------------// Spike walked through the dark expanses of the Everfree Forest, nothing dared to approach him for he possessed a power like none other. The darkness had quickly overtaken him that day when the mighty Tirek had attacked Equestria. He walked through that forest now not as a stranger to the creatures, but as something far more dangerous. He sat in front of a hastily made campfire and took a neatly wrapped bundle out of his suitcase. He unravelled to reveal a dark Alicorn amulet. It looked like an exact copy of the one Trixie once held, but this one was far more ancient, powerful and dangerous. The creatures around him ran away as fast as they could in fear of the amulet. “You truly are beautiful,” Spike said to the amulet. “Of course I know that,” the amulet replied. “What do you wish of me, master?” Spike asked completely entranced by the relic. “I require my power to be returned to me, your former friends hold the key to that. You will break their harmony, shatter their trust and leave them broken,” the amulet growled. “Of course, my master,” Spike replied with his own eyes now glowing a dark red. “But first we must gather many artifacts to ensure my triumph over them, one of them being in this very forest…” The amulet trailed off as if relishing what was to come. “Yes, master,” Spike said simply and started to pack up the camp and put out the fire. “Their harmony is their greatest weapon, but it can also be their ultimate weakness when twisted to my will!” The amulet exclaimed. “I will break their harmony, and then their disharmony will become my weapon!” It added triumphantly. “Nothing shall stop the return of chaos!” “Master, what about Rarity will she be safe?” Spike asked still holding onto some form of free will. “Of course, Spike. For my plan to succeed no ‘harm’ must come to your friends,” Chaos half-lied. His will is strong, even after my manipulation of his and Twilight’s relationship he still holds out hope for his friends safety. But I am nothing if not patient, just as I will break his friends, I will ‘break’ his will. Chaos thought to himself. “Now we must go, we have a long year ahead of us,” Chaos stated changing the subject. True Chaos will return to this world… I have grown tired of watching these imposters making a mockery of me...
