//------------------------------// // Part 3: Change of Events // Story: Saving Derpy Whooves // by Junster00741 //------------------------------// "Hey Fluttershy, Applejack and...uhh...I don't remember you. Are you new?" greeted and wondered Pinkie Pie as she closely examined Derpy. "That’s Derpy." I said quietly as we watched Pinkie’s eyes stretch out of their sockets to examine Derpy. It didn’t take too long for Pinkie’s eyes to launch back into their sockets with a realization, "Oh right, silly me I forgot.” she giggled happily before hugging Derpy tightly with joy, ”I haven't seen you in forever. How’ve you been? Whats up? Do you want some cake?" "I think she's fine sugar cube but what we need to talk about is about her." insisted Applejack who was shuddering from Pinkie. "Oh is it a secret?” wondered Pinkie before her excitement took over, ”Wait don't tell me!” she demanded, “You all are secretly working on something that could change the lives of everypony and possibly change the very fabric of time and space!" There was only utter silence as we all stared at Pinkie with the utmost confusion a facial expression could offer, "Uhh that’s not it Pinkie...” awkwardly muttered Fluttershy. "Oh well why didn't you say so?" argued Pinkie, “Now I look like a fool!” "Not like this is the first..." grumbled Applejack. "Anyway,” I said, trying to get us back on the subject, “we need to talk about something involving Derpy. Pinkie finally settled down and listened to our problem concerning Derpy, at the end I think she understood the problem but it's kinda hard to understand her since she’s Pinkie Pie. "Well that’s just not fair on how they're treating you,” stated Pinkie, “and I don't hate you. I could never hate anypony, you can ask Applejack, Fluttershy and Cerulean!” "It seems like I’ve been misjudging some ponies lately...” admitted Derpy, “But, will you help us?” "I'd love to help!” cheered Pinkie excitedly, “Should we celebrate with muffins? I know how to make your favorite!" "How did you know I like muffins? Are you a psychic?" questioned Derpy. "I wish but I just know everything about everypony, including you." explained Pinkie. Technically that’s sorta the same but to this day I still have a hard time understanding Pinkie logic, it’s nothing logical yet it’s logical at the same time, as Twilight would say. Yet, I always wondered how Pinkie does it, how can she be in 5 million places at once yet still remain as one. Honestly I’ve over thought this so many times I could develop migraines from it but a pony can wonder, right? "If you're making muffins, mind making us some?" I insisted. "You probably won't like the one she eats." Pinkie said awkwardly. "Why not?" Pinkie leaned over and whispered to me the ingredients for Derpy's muffins, it was enough to nearly make me gag but I held it in. I didn't even know you can make muffins with chips, soda and earthworms. How can she even eat those without having to go to the hospital? Thinking about Derpy eating them made my head spin a little. "I'll make you a different batch." Pinkie insisted. "Alright but you mind making it fast. I think the Cakes wants us out ASAP." I urged. “Why’s that?” questioned Pinkie. I explained how the Cakes reacted when they saw Derpy, how they talked to her and how they treated her. At first Pinkie was in a bit of disbelief but when she turned to Derpy that was enough to convince her. Taking action she stormed into the kitchen to have a talk with the Cakes, I followed behind but listened through the door as I knew they wouldn’t want to see me. At first the Cakes were cheerful to Pinkie but seconds after Derpy was mentioned the Cakes were suddenly enraged. Pinkie was then escorted out of the kitchen and we were told to leave. "Well that wasn't very nice. All I said was that I was going to make muffins for you and when I mentioned Derpy they throw me out. How rude though, guess we won't be having muffins." said Pinkie as we followed her outside. "Forget them,” I argued, “lets go get Rarity." Pinkie nodded her head as she began hopping to Rarity’s house. She also began humming some tune to herself seem to make her hop farther and faster with each hop. I find it funny how she’s able to do that for long periods of time without getting tired. It must be all the sugar she eats but doesn’t she eventually crash? This was another one of Pinkie’s defying logic moments, never getting tired. "I'll go in my cloud." said Derpy as Fluttershy accompanied her to a nearby cloud "Know if she's home?" I asked Applejack as I watched them fly up. “We’ll know once we get there,” she replied, “best guess is she’s probably working on a new outfit or something.” I rolled my eyes and began walking, Applejack and I didn’t really talk since the walk wasn’t so long and we were already emotionally spent. When we got there we saw Pinkie waiting at the door patiently like a dog would, by the time she noticed us she actually began barking for no reason. We stood in confusion for a moment, wondering if PInkie hit her head or something but after mumbling, “Pinkie logic.” We then made our way to the door and rang the doorbell. "Oh hello.” greeted Rarity as she opened the door, “What brings you all here today?” "We need to talk,” I said simply, “you free right now?” “Why of course!” replied Rarity as she opened the door more for us, “Please come in and make yourselves at home, when you’re ready we can talk.” "We'll talk once Fluttershy and Derpy get here." We made our way to the kitchen where we sat down to relax a little. “Pardon me but who’s Derpy.” questioned Rarity as she closed the door behind her and followed us. "You'll see." I mumbled tiredly, it’s kinda surprising that hardly any of us know her but everypony in town knows and hates her. Around us were some sketches of designs Rarity was working on, the place was in a bit of organized chaos but it’s not like i’m used to clutter anyway. Some of her designs were rather strange while others had me gazing at it for the longest time. Really I was picturing who would look best in it, of course Fluttershy could pull it off on all of them. I couldn’t help but to blush and smile a little at the thought. "Would you like any snacks?" offered Rarity as she placed a batched of sandwiches in the middle of the table we sat in, “I made too many this morning and I don’t want these to go to waste.” "Sure. Pinkie was going to make us muffins at Sugarcube Corner but we kinda got kicked out..." "Oh, why is that?" wondered Rarity. “I’ll explain once the others get here, but thank you for the snacks.” Rarity smiled as she grabbed a sandwich and sat down with us, "So how you liking Ponyville since you came here?" she wondered as she turned to me, “Is it any better than your world?” I couldn’t help but to laugh at her question, "Of course this world is better, it’s practically the best place ever!” Rarity seemed delighted at my response, “I guess the only downside right now is the problem we’re facing, I really thought this world was perfect. I mean, everything was going well up until now.” "I assume this problem has something to do with this Derpy character?” said Rarity. I nodded my head, “So far only one bad thing has happened but I’m starting to wonder what I’ve gotten myself into.” "Before we continue on about this,” urged Applejack, “mind checking if Fluttershy and her friend are close?" “Sure.” I grabbed one more sandwich before heading outside, once I was out I scanned the skies for any odd clouds coming my way. When I saw no sign of such cloud I grew a little worried and decided to go looking for them. I flew back to Sugarcube Corner in hopes of running into them but as the candy shop came into view sounds of chaos were heard near the place. My nerves tensed as my worst case scenarios were starting, I hesitantly flew towards the sound to find an angry mob surrounding two ponies. Those two happened to be Derpy and Fluttershy. Trash, insults and threats were being hurled at them in all angles, Fluttershy was shielding Derpy as trash was thrown at them. This only sparked a fuse in me as I dove towards them, I flew so fast that when I landed I sent a gust of wind that pushed everyone back some. They were silent now as all eyes were on me, I looked around to see the angry faces of the mob. I backed into Derpy and Fluttershy in the process and nudged them to leave. At first they didn’t get the signal but when I motioned my head upward they took off without saying a word. Unfortunately a rock was thrown at them that managed to hit Fluttershy and caused her to spiral to the ground. I watched as she smacked the ground a thump, she was still before showing signs of agony. I rushed over to her next, pushing anyone who was in my way until I reached her. I helped her up and examined her, I almost gasped as I saw a nasty looking gash along with blood gushing out from the side of head. Her eyes were a bit dilated and she seemed delusional, I said her name but she didn’t respond. My body began to tremble next as I held her, I choked on some tears that I was holding back before I set her down. I stood up next and turned to the mob who were just watching with the same expression as before, “Who threw that...” I said quietly, there no response, “WHO THREW IT!!” Everypony jumped at my tone and quickly formed a path to a pony who apparently threw it. It was a stallion with a blue coat and strange looking mane and tail. It’s colors were a lightish blue, it seemed to resemble lightning while his eyes were a type of hazel. For his cutie mark there was a spiralling cloud with sparks coming out in five directions. I didn’t care if it was him or not I marched over to the pony, he had a grin as I made my way over to him. He was just about my height but we were able to look at each other at eye level. “Why did you throw it...” I growled as I grabbed stallion by the throat. His smirk only grew more with my anger, “Because I felt like it, what are you going to do about it?” he wondered as he spat in my face. I pushed him back before tackling him to the ground, we rolled around for a bit but I easily had him pinned down in a few seconds, “What is your name?” I demanded as I smashed his face into the ground. “Heh, why should I tell you?” questioned the stallion as he struggled to break free, “It’s not like you can help that mare, the way I see it she’ll be chased out of town by tomorrow.” he began to laugh as he turned to Derpy who was watching from the air, “Just you wait Derpy, when you leave this town i’ll be the last face you remember you hear me!” “ENOUGH!” I shouted as I grabbed a clump of dirt and rammed it into his mouth, “What gives you the right to say such a thing to a kind and gentle mare like her.” I started punching him repeatedly, “She’s done nothing wrong so you have no right to despise her!” I placed my hooves on his neck now and began pressing down on it, “You might’ve been one of her friends, you might’ve been the one who laughed and played with her so why are you doing this to her, why did you decide betray her, TELL ME!” I was shoved aside by a mare, I was too enraged at first to see who it was but when my mind settled I saw it was Fluttershy. She had me pinned down and was looking right at me, blood from her gash was dripping onto my face as she watched me. Her eyes weren’t dilated anymore but they were fixed on me, the look she gave also was one I couldn’t read. It was as if all life had been drained out of her. “That’s enough...” she said quietly as she stepped off and helped me up, “Let’s go to Rarity’s now.” I tried to look around but Fluttershy prevented me from doing so, I had no choice but to leave. We were silent as we flew by, we didn’t bother taking a cloud so we got to Rarity’s in record time. When we landed Fluttershy helped me to the door, as we came in the others jumped when they saw us. “Oh my gosh Cerulean what happened!?” cried Rarity as she rushed out of the room, “I’ll go get an aid kit!” “Sam Hill Fluttershy are you ok?” questioned Applejack as she came to Fluttershy’s side. For some reason I couldn’t respond, I could only look as I watched Applejack examine Fluttershy’s wound. As for Derpy she seemed to be in a sort of trauma from something, when she turned to me she would look away immediately and hide her face face with her wings. I would hear soft whimpers next as I turned back to Fluttershy who was being attended to by Applejack. When Rarity came back she carried with her a box with a red plus on it, she placed it on the floor, popped it open and pulled out some gauze and disinfectant. She hurried over to Fluttershy and took over while Applejack went by my side. She told Derpy she’d be there in a minute before taking a look at my hooves which were drenched with dirt and blood. My eyes widened at the sight before Applejack pulled my head up and made me focus on her. “Can you tell me where it hurts?” she asked as steadily as possible. I opened my mouth, but I only uttered a dry croak before water was given to me. I drank it with no problem but I still couldn’t speak. Applejack sighed and took a look at my hooves, upon examining them she asked Rarity for a box of wipes. Once given she cleaned my hooves and wiped my face from the blood that came from Fluttershy. When she finished she went over to Derpy and tried to examine her but Derpy only screamed and backed away. I jumped when she screamed but no words came out still, I just sat there in confusion and watched as Fluttershy was tended to while Derpy screamed for some reason. Even in my mind I couldn’t utter a word, it was just silent all around me from the inside and out. “Oh no, I think she may have a concussion.” said Rarity over to Applejack, “We might need Twilight’s help on this.” “A concussion!?” cried Applejack, “Shoot ah was hoping it wasn’t that bad.” she took a few paces back and forth before walking over to me, “Look, ah don’t know what happened but can you do me a favor?” she asked, I nodded my head shakily and listened, “Ah need you to fly over to Twilight’s place and get her ASAP. Only she knows a spell that can help with this type of stuff. We could take Fluttershy to a hospital if it wasn’t so far away so we got no choice, can you do this Cerulean, for Fluttershy?” she looked at me with pleading eyes, Rarity too as Fluttershy seemed to be spacing out in the back while Derpy was just curled up like a ball next to a wall. “O-ok...” I uttered finally as I stood up, my legs wobbled a bit before getting a grip on the ground. “Good,” said Applejack, “now then, head East to Twilight’s, ya can’t miss it. It’s a large, shiny, crystal like castle ok?” “O-ok...” I uttered again. Applejack helped me to the door but I was my own then. I still had no idea what had happened, I didn’t know what happened to Fluttershy nor myself or why Derpy was in a traumatic like state right now. My mind wasn’t working correctly also, it was only silent as I looked in the direction Applejack told me to look at. I saw Twilight’s castle next, it didn’t seem too far away and I could easily fly there but my wings were acting strange now. When I unfolded them they were stiff as a rock and kinda dropped to the ground. I had no idea why I was acting so strange but at least I was able to hoof it to Twilight’s. Along the way I stopped when my mind flashed an image of a stallion covered in dirt and blood. My body tensed so tightly it felt like I could explode, my head screamed in agony as my vision blurred for a moment. Part of me felt like it was losing it while the other was in a rampage. I could feel a seething rage building up but it went away just like that. I was finally able to stand but my body was trembling now, tears were gushing out now also as I finally remember what happened.
