//------------------------------// // Gummy // Story: Cotton Candy // by I_AM_OCTAVIA //------------------------------// My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie. Life on the rock farm used to be boring and dull, but I decided to brighten it up a bit by throwing my first party after being inspired by an amazingly beautiful rainbow. Now I go by Pinkie Pie, or just Pinkie. I am a very curious little filly. I don't know much, so that means more trouble. When I don't have to work, I can do anything I want! Literally! So I always spend that time trying new things or adventuring, when I'm not making everypony else smile by throwing a party or something, that is. Today, I decide to go to the swamp. There's always things new and exciting there! So, the minute I get my free time, I'm zooming down there at full speed. The bubbly water is splashing everywhere, and I can hear a noise. Curious about what the source of the noise was, I follow the sound to the edge of the swamp. Small, green creatures are right in front of my face, croaking away. They're hopping everywhere, some on lily pads in the water. I take an immediate liking to them, and scoop one up in my mouth to go and show my sisters and my parents. They taste awful, but I scamper home and run in. Maud is usually the most smart about these types of things, so I go to her first. "Maud! Maud!" I yell, running through the house looking for her. Suddenly, we bump into each other. The green thingy hops out of my mouth. "Maud! Look what I found! What's it called? It makes a weird croaky sound and is green and hops and stuff! So do you know what it is? Huh? Huh? Huh?" The creature croaks as if on cue. Maud blinks. "It's a frog." Maud finally answers. "They start out as tadpoles and live in the water, then become frogs and live near water." To me, she seems like a living dictionary! She is so smart! "Thanks, Maud!" I pick the frog back up and go back to the swamp. There must be more amazing creatures here! So, I look around for another animal. Another green thing catches my eye, but it wasn't a frog. Actually, I had seen one before. I go over to check it out. Two adorable purple eyes stare up at me. It's a baby alligator! Then he opens his mouth. I notice it is clear of any teeth whatsoever. Hey, maybe I could keep him! I also pick him up and race back to my house, thinking of names as I do. Gummy sounds like the perfect name. If I can keep him, of course. Maud is still in the same spot as when I asked about the frog. I guess it didn't take me very long to find Gummy. I ask her about keeping the adorable baby alligator. "Just look at him!" I say. "You can't say no to that face!" Maud considered it for a second, thinking about if she would be in trouble if she said yes. "Fine." Maud replies. "But if you get in trouble, it's not my fault, got it?" I nodded and gave her a big hug. "You're the best!"
