A Forsaken Symbiote

Twilight... I'm A Jerk!

{Twilight's POV}

'Ugh, what a weird dream...' I groan.

I open my eyes and see a concrete ceiling abundant of cracks and mold. I blink.

"Where am I?" I ask aloud.

I sit up to get my bearings, and see I'm in a small room with old antiques, I throw my hooves off the purple bed.

Questions filled my head, like: what happened? Am I still dreaming? Why are there weird drawing on the floor? Why am I not sleeping?

As these go unanswered, I look at an old bookshelf and see one book not covered in dust. I use my magic to try and levitate it over to the bed. Said book proceeded to fly through the air and slammed into my face, and the force of it sent me off the bed, "AHHH!!!" and onto the floor with a loud thud.

I groaned, 'Magic warm-ups Twilight, magic warm-ups...'

After a couple seconds of catching my breathe, I sat up and look at the cover of the book. The title scared, yet intrigued me. I kept it in my magic grasp, and trotted out. I continued until I realized where I was: The Castle of the Two Sisters. Once I proceeded this, I knew where I was, and how to get out.

I charged up my magic in order to cast the spell, it wouldn't get me all the way out, I'd walk the rest of the way.

As soon as the spell was set, I thought of my home. I didn't put enough magic to get there, just the amount necessary to arrive closer.

It felt... different. Like I was putting more power then I used to, so I held some energy back... at least I tried.

As I pulled it back, it made a sling-shot effect that teleported me and the book to an unknown area. Not pleasant.

I groaned, rubbing my horn and eyes in pain. 'I could have sworn I put just a little power into that...'

I was pulled out of my thoughts but a very familiar voice, "Oh! Um... Twilight? W... What are you doing here... If you don't mind me asking..."

I looked up to find the only Pegasus that could have sounded that held back, "Hey Fluttershy... Why are you doing in the Everfree Forest?" I asked, still rubbing my eyes.

"W-what do you mean?" She asked, "We're not in the f... forest..." I then heard her hoof pawing at the ground. 'Wait...'

"WHAT!?" I shouted, jumping into the air and opening my eyes.

Sure enough, I was on the opposite side of town!

My face went blank after that.

'How did I do that? I've never gone that far before... Maybe that dream wasn't fake...'

Fluttershy backed off a bit, a questioning look on her face. She changed that to a look of concern, "I-is something w-w-wrong?"

I stop. It was probably just a magic surge, there was nothing to worry about... Right?

"I... Its nothing, I thought..." I pause. 'I shouldn't tell her, she'd freak out.'

Fluttershy moved closer, and I shook my head, "See you later Fluttershy!"

I galloped as fast as I could to my library, I had to figure out what that creature was. I then notice that the sun was high in the sky.

"How long was I sleeping!?"

I arrived home and the first thing I noticed was that my statue was missing! "Spike!" I called.

Almost immediately, Spike came running in. He know stood in front of me, "What do you need' Twi!" He saluted.

"Where's the statue Princess Celestia gave me!?" I asked.

"I thought you took it!"

I froze. 'So it is real. And I think I helped it escape...'

I started shivering, I used to tell it everything, and it is most likely a threat.

"Write a letter to the Princess." Spike nodded and grabbed a paper and quill, "Dear Princess Celestia. I fear another statue from the garden has escaped. I wish that you send a squad of royal guards to Ponyville at once. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."

Spike chuckled, "This sounds like the Nightmare Moon thing again!" Just as he finished, he burped out the green fire that told me she replied. Spike read, "My dearest student, though I take this into account, there are no more 'Discord's' in the garden. If there was I'd know. I am sorry to say I will not send any solders on a goose chase. My most humbled apology's Twilight."

Once Spike finished, I felt hollow. She didn't believe me... It hurt...

Spike smiled, oblivious to my pained expression, "Well, that was just like Nightmare Moon!"

I stayed silent. I trotted up to my room, and went to my bed and fell on the matrices. I sobbed till I fell asleep.

I woke up a little bit later, rubbing my puffy eyes and composed myself. I looked to the bed post and found a sticky note on it. 'I went to Rarity's to help out. -Spike'

I glared at the note. He abandoned me too... I rolled off the bed, landing on my hooves. I trotted my way down the stairs and out the door. 'I'm going to prove myself! I'll see what the... whatever it is wants, and show the Princess I'm right!'

And so, I set out to understand this black creature, and learn why Celestia doesn't trust me.

I stood outside the forest, readying myself for the journey. Until I heard laughter behind me. I turned to see Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie coming out of a bush, snorting and giggling with apple juice all over them.

"That never gets old!" Rainbow announced, wiping a tear out of her eye.

Pinkie snickered, "Yeah, I wish we could do this every week... Applejack will never let us near another apple tree in months!"

The two continued until Dash spotted me, "Oh! Hey Egghead! What you doing hear!" She smiled.

I sighed. 'I'm going to have to tell them... aren't I?'

I then explain what happened, from the nightmare, to the letter.

"Oh... That's harsh..." Rainbow remarked.

"That's not nice... That's not nice at all!" Pinkie said, then her face contorted into the 'I have an idea' look, "Why don't we come with you!"

My eyes widened, "No! I need to do this alone!"

Rainbow gained a mischievous glint in her eye, 'Uh-oh...'

"Then I guess we'll just have to tell Spike then... and then he'll tell Princess Celestia you're doing this." She smirked.

I glared at her... then I sighed, "Fine..."

The two pranksters jumped into the sky simultaneously high hoofed each other in midair, which I then ruined as I said, "But, if on the slight chance you see it, you can't attack it, I just need to know what it wants." They seemed mostly okay with that. Rainbow had the harder time accepting it, but she didn't argue.

The three of us turned back to the dark forest. Not knowing what could be lurking in it.

There was an uncomfortable silence, that was broken by Pinkie.

"I need to pee."

We reached the Castle in no time. That wasn't the problem.

"Okay," I turned to the girls, "We're going to have to split up-"

Pinkie interrupted, "But you should never split the party!"

Dash burst out laughing, and I just raised my eyebrow.

Once Dash calmed down, I continued, "Because the building is so huge, Dash will take the back, Pinkie will take the front, and I'll be in the middle!"

Pinkie sighed, "Fine..."

"Okay..." Rainbow whined.

I smiled, "We'll meet here after we're done."

The two nodded. Dash flew to the other side. Pinkie hopped across the bridge. And I teleported.

I was looking for that room I woke up in.

'Where could it be! I should have memorized its location!'

I trotted down the hallway I was is until I heard a strange noise coming from close by, 'Gottcha!'

I galloped as fast as I could.

I reached the area that the sound came from. It had that room I was looking for, but that's not what I was looking at. Instead, I was looking at a giant, black bipedal creature, that was looking away from me. 'I can't do this...' I was just about to leave when it turned around quickly. We stared at each other for a moment. Then it said in a slightly deep voice you'd hear from a teenager, "I can explain."

------

{Lee's POV}

I waited for her to calm down. It only took a few minutes for that, so I began to explain, "Okay, my name is Lee. My race is Klyntar/symbiote, a parasitic race that needs a host to live, and if I don't, I'll die."

Ponies didn't know what a parasite was, so that was good. She would kill me if they did.

Twilight looked fearful, "S-so... are you bad?"

I smirked, might as well have some fun, "Yes, I eat children and destroy hope."

She began shaking, 'I'm such a dick.'

I laugh at her. I mean, full blown fall on the floor laughing. She seems to get that I was kidding, "I'll take that as a 'no' then..."

I calmed down, "Yes, I'm not Discord bad... I'm more of a prankster..." I look into the distance, remembering the pranks I used to pull on Starswirl... The geezer couldn't take a joke.

Twilight glared at me, then raised her eyebrow, "You need a host to survive? Like a pony to control!?"

Wow...

Just... Wow...

"No dingus, to live with... How about I show you?"

Twilight hesitated.

"Fine, I'll see what you mean." She sighed.

I walked over to her, "You wont regret this!" I leapt onto her. She struggled, tried using magic to get me off.

I finally attached myself to her, and her relaxed, "This... This isn't that bad!"

I chuckled, 'I knew you'd like it!'

Then, I felt something.

'Damn it!'

A wormhole opened up underneath us. We both yelled in fear.

'This isn't good...'
