Quiver Episode 1: The Portal's Open!

Quiver the Adventurer
Editor
Ability: Writing Force

"QUIVER! THE PORTAL'S OPEN!" Sunset screamed to his roommate, causing Quiver to get disrupted on his book.

"Wha-what? Yes, I just heard! Will you enter?" Quiver asked back.

"I'm going to wait for the perfect time Quiver, the perfect time." Quiver quickly packed up and went to the statue where the portal was.

Having only his backpack, he quickly wrote a small letter to Princess Celestia requesting access and threw it to the portal. A scroll went back from the portal, and he opened it.

Dear Quiver,

I'm glad you've come to visit this very occasion, having wondered why this mirror opened coincidentally a day before the Summer Sun Celebration. Since it seemed that you've like to return, I'm giving a yes.

From,
Princess Celestia

Quiver considered this a go and looked around. No one but Fredrick Arrow. Good. He leaped into the portal, and everything went in circles.

Quiver then found himself as a pony, a yellow earth pony with a green mane and a stack of papers as cutie mark, and had let his hooves fall into place. He checked his items.

A sonic screwdriver for Dr. Hooves, check. His writing quill, check. A few pieces of paper, check. Princess Celestia's letter of approval, check. His favorite picture of a dancing Twilight Sparkle, check. I think I'm not in the mood for blackmailing Twilight... this is strange. He continued checking his items, then something caught her eye and he carefully pulled it out.

"How did a crystal globe end up back here?!" he asked, before he pulled out a bag and placed it and pushed it over the portal, being picked up by Arrow who was relieved to see his crystal globe back.

Quiver then packed off and went to his house, a townhouse near the Train Station. He was interrupted after seeing a notice from Princess Celestia that he has to live in Ponyville, again. He groaned, having trolled by Celestia for the fifth time. He was about to swear when he noticed a small note included in it.

"Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape..."

Being stuck in history class once, Quiver decided to actually follow her instructions and went there through train. After arriving, he found Twilight Sparkle but decided to act normal and ignored her. She's this year's Summer Sun Celebration overseer, according to the messages Quiver had. After she met almost the most fabulous five ponies who were assigned in various positions, he decided to pay a visit to one of his favorites; Rarity!

Apparently, I've nearly forgotten where she lives, but luckily her place in the Celebration does quite remind me... Quiver went to Carousel Boutique and spotted Rarity making final touches on her new dress. He knocked, then she looked at me.

"Oh, dear goodness, I didn't see you there, sweetie!" Rarity said, "welcome to Carousel Boutique, anything I can help?"

"Hmm... let's see..." Why did Quiver went to the boutique again? Ah, yes. "Anything you make me a fabulous gentlestallion, perhaps?"

"While on a break? Sure," Rarity levitated a few combs near Quiver, "it'll be my pleasure."

After buying a hat and leaving the Boutique smiling, he next went to Fluttershy, who was also at break, gently resting. Quiver decided not to disrupt anything from Fluttershy, so he went off again and accidentally stepped on a twig which made a loud "snap!" sound, waking Fluttershy. She blinked and looked at Quiver.

"Oh, hello," she shyly greeted.

"Hi Flutters." I waved my hoof and went off.

"See you at the library?" Fluttershy asked, but she noticed that Quiver was already far off. "Hello?"

Quiver bought one cupcake and quickly left as Pinkie Pie hopped to the Golden Oaks Library, not wanting to get pulled into any parties she might brought up. Luckily, his house in Ponyville is being used by a very very very VERY good friend, and he was simply shocked to see Quiver enter the house.

"Oh, Princess Celestia sent you for real?" she asked.

"No, but I had a bad feeling about today though," replied Quiver who just dropped his items on his sofa, "besides, will the Princess even try to remind me of the old Mare In The Moon prophecy?"

"Oh." She picked up her quill and placed it beside her ear. "See you later."

"See ya," he said back as Quiver went for a nap.

Quiver woke up early enough to get on the Celebration on time. He quickly packed, went to the said location, and positioned himself near the local newspaper community of the ponies, and out of them all, Photo Finish noticed him.

"Quiver? Iz that you?" she asked. Quiver stared back at Photo Finish who just took a picture of him.

"Uh, how are you holding up?" I asked.

"Good, good, not much work, not much work," Photo Finish pointed to the stage, "the Prinzess is near!"

As they waited, Quiver noticed something. Where is Princess Celestia?!

"She's gone!" shouted by one of the ponies.

Quiver felt odd as Mayor Mare calmed them down and a very mysterious dark alicorn arrived at where Princess Celestia was supposed to be.

Impossible! It is true! Quiver looked at her and hid as soon as possible. He then listened to the conversation.

"Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?" asked the dark alicorn.

Twilight replied. "I did. And I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon– Nightmare Moon!"

Quiver heard gasping.

"Well well well," said Nightmare Moon as Quiver took a peek, "somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I'm here."

"You're here to... to..." Twilight gulped in realisation as Nightmare Moon chuckled.

"Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!"

Quiver felt shivers running up from his spine. This is not going good. Not at all. Somepony must stop her... he thought.
