The pilot episode, the Creators thought I was a mistake... The Fandom was born along with me.
The Creators call me Ditzy Hooves, but the Fandom, and everypony else now, calls me Derpy, or Derpy Hooves. I soon liked eating muffins and would often visit Sugercube Corner and Pinkie would help me bake some... although I have a hard time not messing something up.
The day felt like hours since I accidentally made a mistake and destroyed the town hall... oops.
The fan-art I have been receiving in the mail, I was able to talk for the first time for the Fandom to watch. Just a few lines, nothing more. I just hope Rainbow could forgive me...
"Hey Derpy!"
"Huh? Oh, hello!" I replied. Speaking of Rainbow Dash...
"You gotta come down here and see the board! It's the Fandom!" She exclaimed, an excited smile on her face.
The Fandom?
"I'll be down there in a moment Rainbow Dash... woah~!" A strong wind knocked me over as I fell to the ground... or what I thought as I felt somepony catch me.
Rainbow's face was "Can you be just a little bit more careful next time?"
I just simply shrugged, smiled and embarrassingly blushed at my actions. It was not exactly my fault I am such a klutzy pony...
I flew out of Rainbow's grip and we made it to the ground, behind a large crowd of other ponies including the "Mane 6".
At first I panicked, thoughts of being rejected for my weird appearance and klutzy movements... I did almost fully believe it until others started whispering, then moving out of the way as I walked up to the board.
The board was about a normal-pony's height, with red borders and a metal-glossy look to it. Everytime a new "episode" was released to the Fandom, everyone in the area, our area, Ponyville, being Area #1 according to the "Creator's Notes", would gather and see if anyone was knocked off the list. Over half the time, someone would not, although most of the time those who were released often came back by the next episode.
The two lists have indeed changed, the Cannon not by much; the Cannon list rarely ever changes. However, there was a new list, a third one... the Episode List, this one titled with "The Last Roundup".
I looked at the lists, wondering what was so important that Rainbow wanted to show me.
As usual, I was #2 on the Fandom list, with Pinkie being first? That was confusing...
The second list to the right of the Fandom list was the Cannon, or Creator's, list.
"Wow!" A orange-coated pony came up beside me, who I recognized as Applejack, the main pony of the recent episode. "Ah never knew that tha Fandom would appreciate ya this much Derpy!" I saw her face change from joyful to terrified as she looked over the list, only to be relieved again. I looked at the list on the Fandom, and saw that she barely made it to the Fandom list.
"I have to admit AJ... I have a feeling you broke your element..." Rainbow Dash stood beside Applejack, giving the orange mare a worried glare. "What do ya mean?"
"I mean that you lied to us multiple times... and yet your'e assigned as the Element of Honesty..."
"Oh Applejack~! You got some 'splaining to do~!"
"Pinkie..." Rainbow facehoofed and sighed, with Pinkie being her normal-not-normal hyper self.
"Ah have no explaining to do Pinkie... I already told ya'll. And with the new lists already up, the episode must be over."
I found myself in a daze, yet overhearing the conversation beside me.
I was the Fandom's favorite!
Pinkie Pie finally caught up with the others as mostly everyone dispersed from the board.
"I think this calls for a party!"
"A party?" I grinned as Pinkie spun me around by the hooves.
"Party for being best pony this episode~!" She laughed, eventually putting me down again. I fell down face-first
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered as we raced to Sugercube Corner.
We partied from that moment to the moment the moon has risen high in the sky. It seemed like everyone had a good time...oh who am I kidding, it was a Pinkie Party! No-one can simply leave one Pinkie Pie's parties and not feel happy and energetic.
"That, was, awesome!" Rainbow said, flying in loops in the air.
"I must admit Derpy, this is simply amazing!" Rarity commented as they left Sugercube Corner, followed close by Twilight and Fluttershy.
"I don't know why this is such a big deal though..." I said, looking down at my hooves.
Twilight apparently noticed and added in her two bits, "The reason why everyone is celebrating is because no-pony before now has reached #1 on multiple lists. It's a honor!" She said.
My only reply was a nod and a reassuring smile.
"Hey Fluttershy, remember when you were voted Best Pony?" Rainbow asked.
Fluttershy let part of her mane cover her face as I looked and saw her slightly blush. "Y-Yes... everypony was excited, probably as much as everyone is now for Derpy."
"You both earned your title, and maybe one day Derpy will be voted Best Pony! Darling, I know the perfect dress for you to wear when that happens~!" Rarity giggled in joy as I could see those dress-making gears in her mind metaphorically turn.
"Thank you everypony... really, I'm happy that I got on two lists..." My voice drifted off as I stopped, staring at the sky.
"Derpy?" Rainbow landed beside the depressed mare. "You sure you're alright?"
I nodded, smiling. "I'm fine. There is no need to worry about me... it's probably just from getting so much attention in so little time from everypony-"
Twilight was the one to break the awkwardness... but not before she noticed something off. "Um, girls? Where's Applejack?" Everyone looked but could not find Applejack anywhere around them.
"Maybe she went home already? She's not exactly the party-type... like me..." Fluttershy suggested, as she often was not part of parties herself due to how loud and obnoxious they could get.
"Why would AJ miss out on such an awesome party? This is Derpy's big breakthrough!" Rainbow said in a tone that had no-nonsense written all over it, still walking beside me.
"I think she might of mentioned that she was going to help Pinkie clean up." Twilight said after thinking about it for a moment, "I'm sure she will be back at her barn in the morning." A yawn escaped me as I suddenly realized I probably needed to sleep.
"We better get you home then." Twilight looked at me, and was going to speak again before I shook my head, knowing the next words were going along the lines of me being guided home.
"I can get there myself... But thank you." I replied, smiling slightly. "I-I'm getting slightly better at flying on my own." I hoped that I didn't offend anypony as I quickly flew off and landing on a soft cloud high above and out of the normal passerby's view.
As I slowly fell asleep I smiled at the fun time I had, and the joyful party everyone had for me for getting to the top of the lists. Its one of those things, I guessed, that you don't realize how important or life-changing it is until it happens right in front of you.
Speaking of life-changing, I wish I prepared myself for what was happening later in the story.
