//------------------------------// // An Unlikely Friendship // Story: Two Moons Working Together // by RariDash //------------------------------// Trixie, after Twilight tricked her into taking off the amulet so everybody could see she was just a fraud, had been traveling for days looking for any town that didn't already know about the incident and think she was a fraud. Trixie now found herself in a forest with no light guiding her except for the faint moonlight peaking through the trees. "Hurumph" said Trixie "Everypony already thinks I'm a fraud. It's all Twilight's fault!" She sighed "No...it's MY fault...I'm the one who took that amulet and put it on, I'm the one who tried to show off in the first place. If only I knew as much magic as Twilight, then maybe I wouldn't need to show off and think I'm hot stuff." Trixie's horn illuminated as she took a flask from underneath her cape and took a swig from it. "At least the apples were kind enough to give me some cider before I left." An Owl hooted right next to Trixie, causing her to jump and start looking around, making her realize she was completely lost. "Surely I shouldn't STILL be in this forest. I've been walking for hours...I should have gotten out of here by now." She gulped. "I...I can't possibly be lost...The Great and Powerful Trixie never gets lost..." She lit her horn to help her see but it only revealed trees surrounding her. "Not even a path to follow...It's like no one has even been here before...maybe...maybe I'm in an uncharted part of Equestria! What if I never find my way out!" She started to run. "What if no one finds me and I end up lost forever or worse?!" Trixie, not watching where she was going, suddenly tripped over a tree root and was sent tumbling down a cliff. "SOMEPONY HELP MEEEE" she cried. Trixie was sent tumbling down branches upon branches until she finally hit the ground with a loud thud. She managed to open her eyes, but everything was so blurry she couldn't see anything but a mesh of colors that were the trees around her. She tried to get up but the pain was so unbearable she just stayed on the ground. "S...someone...a...anyone..." She said with a straining voice. She lost consciousness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trixie slowly opened her eyes as she found herself covered up with blankets in a bed. "Where am I?" she asked herself. As she looked around she noticed the room was a dark blue color with some stars painted onto the walls, and a fire raging in the fireplace. Maybe the whole thing was a dream? But that still didn't answer her question. While she was trying to make sense of what happened, the door swung open revealing the princess of the night. "P...p...princess Luna!?" She tried to get up to bow but instantly stopped when she felt the pain again. "I would not recommend getting up just yet. You are pretty beaten up." "How...How did you find me?" "I have the ablility to enter dreams. Yours was completely dark, so I knew something was wrong. I managed to track you with my magic. How did you end up way over there?" "I wish I knew. I was just walking around trying to find a place to stay when I found myself in that forest." "Well you should be glad I found you. If it wasn't for me, you may still be lost." "Thank you..." Luna walked over to the window. "I saw the battle you had with Twilight." Trixie's cheeks went red "Y-you did...?" "Yes. I understand you used an amulet to increase your powers." "Please understand I was just angry that she showed me up..." "I never said I was angry. I wanted to say that I believe you have great potential even without it, and I would like to see what you can do." Trixie laughed. "I would like to, but I can't right now." "I meant when you are healed. But since that will take too long, I will do it myself." "Wha-?" Trixie asked as her body was surrounded by a blue aura. She felt all her bones snap back into place and the pain finally go away. "Let's go, I want to see what you can do." Trixie was about to ask her how she did that, but before she could a glow of blue surrounded the two of them as the both disappeared in a cloud of sparkles. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The two reappeared in an empty field with Canterlot in the distance, and a large pile of supplies to make a house surrounding Trixie. "So what is this?" Trixie asked. "I want you to build yourself a house. Grab the supplies with your magic, and imagine your house. If you do it right the supplies should turn into the house you are thinking of." "Okay...I'll try..." Trixie's horn illuminated along with the supplies. She imagined the house she wanted to build and the supplies started to form into that thought. She was quickly interrupted by a flashback. The house in her head morphed into the house she used to live in as a foal. "No..." she whispered. The memory zoomed into the house where it showed her mother in the kitchen cooking. Her dad sitting at the table with Trixie. "So...what grade did you get in class today sweetie?" Trixie handed her dad the report card which had a big 'F' on it. He stared at it for a bit, licked his lips, and told Trixie to go play with her toys. She happily did so, skipping off towards her room. Her father then turned to her mother. "Can you believe this?" "What?" Her mother replied. "An F! In Magic Kindergarten!" "Look, you are taking this too seriously. It's just Kindergarten, she's a kid, she gets distracted a lot. Calm down." "Calm down? Clam down?!" He slams his hooves onto the table. "I refuse to calm down! Our daughter can't even do good in Kindergarten! I have never seen anything like this! She's worthless! She shouldn't even be a Unicorn!" A sound of a glass cup breaking is heard at the doorway leading into the kitchen. Her dad slowly looks over. Trixie is standing there in front of a broken cup that read "Best Dad Ever". He goes to say something but before he can Trixie is out of the house within seconds. He runs after her, but it's no use. She's gone. The memory fades and Trixie opens her eyes. She built the house in the shape of her childhood house. "That was impressive." Luna said with a bit of excitement in her voice. "Really?" "Definitely. I can tell you have more than enough potential. Let's go inside and talk about what we can do next." The two smile as the enter the newly made home.
