After The Fall Formal...


Sora's friends began saying their goodbyes to his new Canterlot High friends, but Sora pulled Fluttershy away from the group, so he could speak to her privately.

"So..." Sora said.

"So..." Fluttershy mimicked.

"I guess we're leaving."

"Then... this is goodbye?"

"No, not goodbye."

This took Fluttershy by surprise.

"I'll come back and visit soon, I promise."

Fluttershy blushed, "I... don't know if... you can—"

"—Keep my promise? Fluttershy, there's a lot you don't know about me, and one of those things is, when I make a promise, I always keep it, and if I break it, I'll remake it and start anew. Whether you believe me or not, the promises I make always help me face the scary stuff that I get into."

"Yeah, you were always known for getting in trouble, Sora."

"Lea! We're trying to have a private conversation here!"

"Oh, sorry about that, I'll let say your goodbyes to your new girlfriend."

"LEAAAAA!"

He just chuckled and walked away, leaving a flustered Sora and Fluttershy to be by themselves. Luckily, Fluttershy was able to regain her composure.

"You'll really come back?"

Sora recollected himself and replied, "Yeah, of course I will."

"You won't break your promise?"

"I won't."

"...Okay. I trust you."

The two of them stood there in silence, staring into each other's eyes. Fluttershy acted on impulse and pulled Sora into a loving hug, which he happily returned.

"Hey, Romeo, can we get going now?" Lea interrupted.

Sora just scowled at him for ruining the moment, but softened his expression and let go of Fluttershy, "I need you to be brave, okay? I might not be back for a while, but I'll be back as soon as I can. Can you do that?"

"Y-Yes. I-I can try."

Sora smiled, "That's all I needed to hear. See ya soon."

He ran off and jumped in the Gummi Ship as it was lifting itself off the ground. It reached a good enough height and blasted off into space. After they left, Fluttershy was thinking of him, the promise he made... and his smile.

Just seeing that smile of his made her think that everything was going to be okay. She awaited the day that they would meet again.

"Hey, Fluttershy," Rainbow called out, "you okay?"

It didn't take her long to answer, "Yes, I'll be fine." I'll be brave... for you, Sora.
