Dash's Lifestyle

"That's right," Sweet said. "Stand straight, smile, and don't forget to prance."

Rainbow Dash groaned. "Mum, do I have to? It's so uncool!"

"Of course you do, my dear, you're going to appreciate to ways of Canterlot," Sweet Treats said.

Rainbow groaned again and stood straight and smiled. "Oh and head up darling," Sweet said. Rainbow put her head up into the air. "Yes, that's exactly what I want you to look like, tomorrow we can work on etiquette!" Sweet squealed. Rainbow groaned. "Mummy, I don't want to it's uncool, besides I wanna learn how to fly!" Rainbow squeaked. "All in good time, my dear," Sweet said. "Now off to bed."

Rainbow Dash went off to bed, wishing she could be with her father in Cloudsdale, but he had left her with her freaky Mum. "It's okay daddy, if I were you I'd leave this fashion loving freak too, but that doesn't mean I still don't love her," Dash whispered to herself as she looked up at the stars.
She didn't have her cutiemark yet, she wasn't good at anything that her Mum had made her try. She let her mane fall into a messy state, which she liked it that way most of the time, and got into bed.

She fell asleep instantly.

In the morning her Mum had her put on a frou frou dress. It had pink frills and it was mostly pink.

Her Mum tied her mane into a ponytail with a pink bow. "Etiquette is very important here in high society, you must always state a pony by miss or mr and if you are answering a yes or no question it is upmost importance that you say, yes sir or no sir or if it is a mare you must say yes ma'am or no ma'am," Sweet said. Rainbow barely listened, she hated all this frou frou stuff. "Now lets practice."

"Fine," Dash grumbled. "Isn't the weather simply divine? How do you answer?" Sweet asked. "Looks good enough for flying, ma'am," Rainbow said. "Rainbow Dash that was a simple yes or no question," Sweet said. "Well maybe I wanted to say that!" Dash argued. "Young lady, I will not tolerate shouting in this house," Sweet said, calmly. "Well - well maybe I don't want to live with you!" Dash shouted and walked out of her house.

Rainbow walked the streets of Canterlot, crying. She didn't ever want to see her Mum ever again.

She walked past boxes with foals without homes in them. She sadly looked at them. She wasn't exactly like them, but she was now homeless.

Rainbow Dash bumped into a white hoof and looked up, it was the Princess of Equestria. The Princess looked down at the little filly. "Who are you little one?" Celestia asked. "I'm Rainbow Dash ma'am," Rainbow said, she knew when to be respectful. "Where is your mother, Rainbow Dash?" The Princess asked.

Dash looked away from the Princess, sadly. The Princess thought Rainbow had lost her mother, but was relieved when the filly said otherwise. "I ran away from home, she wouldn't respect my passion for flying and she won't let me practice," Rainbow said.

Celestia looked at Rainbow Dash in pity. Princess Celestia felt that Rainbow Dash had to learn to fly or else something terrible would happen. "Maybe I could persuade her to let you go to Cloudsdale," Celestia said. "My Dad lives in Cloudsdale, he left my Mum," Dash said.

In the end Princess Celestia convinced Sweet to let Rainbow Dash follow her dream of flying and Rainbow Dash got to school just in time to save Fluttershy and even though she had no experience in flying she still challenged those bullies in a race and beat them!
If she hadn't went to flight school then she wouldn't have met her friends and none of them would have met and to this day Rainbow Dash remembers her life. That's why she told her friends, right after they found out Rainbow Dash just happened to help them get their cutiemarks.
