	5 years have passed, and Star Swirl was taught the basics(how to walk, talk, etc.). Charming was still mourning over the death of his friend. "5 years," Charming said. "I'm worried about the future."
"Maybe our son will fix this later," Dream said. "but how?"
"There's one way," Charming said. "Magic Kindergarten. If he's ever going to use his magic, he should learn from a special school." They decide to take him there so he can be enrolled, then he'll go to another magic school later. Class started, and Star Swirl felt uncomfortable. He was in a new place, it was awkward for him. The teacher noticed that Star Swirl looked nervous. "What's wrong?" she asked. 
"I'm scared. I've never been here before," he remarked.
"I understand, but there's nothing to worry about. I'm Ms. Diamond Dancer," she said reassuringly. She taught the young unicorns their first lesson. Lifting objects. They lifted a block that each of them were given, but Star Swirl lifted his desk without being able to control it. Most of the students laughed at him. Diamond said, "we all make mistakes, don't laugh." Then she had the students introduce themselves. A filly with a mane that had a shade of blue came up and said, "my name's Luna."  Then, wings extended, and everpony was staring at her. The rest of the ponies introduced themselves, and then it was break time. Fillies and colts started picking on Luna.
"Those wings make you stupid!" a filly said
"Go back to Cloudsdale where you belong,  pegaloser!" a colt said.
"Leave her alone!" Star Swirl screamed.
"What you gonna do about it," another colt said. That same colt punched Star Swirl in the face. Star Swirl pushed him 20 feet away using his magic. 
"Star Swirl!" Diamond Dancer screamed. "I'll see you after class!" Luna thanked Star Swirl for standing up against them. Class ended, and Star Swirl had to stay. "I want you to explain yourself!"
"Some ponies were picking on Luna, I told them to stop," Star Swirl said.
"You didn't have to act aggressive," Diamond said.
"One of them punched me, and I couldn't control it," Star said.
"I'm still going to have a word with your parents, and if I ask him about punching you, he'll probably deny it," Diamond said.
"Just ask Luna," Star said. Star Swirl's parents came, and Diamond explained what happened. He then walked home with his parents, and they weren't pleased. After Star apologized, his parents were talking to each other as Star went to his room. 
"He needs to learn how to control his power," Dream said. 
"Once he has control, he will stand up to Lord Demon Shadow," Charming said. "But that will be years later."
The next day, Star Swirl went back to Magic Kindergarten. He saw Luna walking in, saying bye to another pony, only she was white with a pink mane. Star Swirl approaches Luna and they start talking. "Who was that you were just talking to?" Star asks.
"That was my older sister, Celestia," Luna responds, "By the way, how was it yesterday?"
"Ms. Diamond Dancer may need to see you today," he responds.
"Why?" she asks.
"I mentioned how you were being picked on, and that I was punched. I then said you could prove it," he says. They continued until they went to class. Star Swirl decided to sit next to Luna. Diamond Dancer started writing on the chalk board. It read, "Magic 101, your basic magic guide."
"Okay ponies, today you'll be receiving your magic books," Diamond said. She passed the books to everypony in the room. The first lesson was "Levitation Magic," which they tried to learn yesterday. She decided to have the ponies try it again. This time, everypony(including Star Swirl) pulled off levitating the books they were given. Then, they learned how to create light using their magic. It took at least 2 tries for the ponies to create light. After Star Swirl did it twice, he tried a third time. This time, he disintegrated the light in the room. Diamond brought it back with her magic. When it was break time, certain ponies were called. Star Swirl had to go to the guidance office, Luna had to talk to Diamond Dancer. The ponies that picked on Luna also had to come up. "So I heard you were picking on Luna and that one of you even punched Star, is that correct?"
"Um, no I uh, don't know what your talking about," one of them said.
"Indeed they did," Luna said. Diamond Dancer decided to call other ponies up. They each said that she was in fact, picked on. Diamond's punishment was that their parents would be informed. Star Swirl talked to the guidance counselor, and was told he would have special lessons after school. School ended, and Star had his special lessons. Charming had an idea. After Diamond was done talking to the bullies' parents, Charming decided to talk to her. It turns out the friend of Charming that was executed was Diamond's husband. Diamond Dancer, Charming Swirl, and Dream Swirl formed a group. They would secretly push anti Demon Shadow feelings towards the citizens. They would handle it in different ways, with all 3 writing. Charming was going distribute it in Manehattan, Diamond would teach about it in Magic Kindergarten, and Dream would help a little bit, but she's mostly focused on raising Star. The publication would be known as "The Harsh Reality". 
The next day, Charming said bye to his wife and son because he was going to Manehattan. Dream gave her son permission to visit Luna after school. Star went to school, and Diamond taught a special lesson. "Today, I need to tell you something important," she said, "it's about how magic is used. There are ponies that use it for good. However, there are some ponies that use it for evil. Don't tell anypony I said this, but Lord Demon Shadow is corrupt. He kills anypony just for disagreeing." She continued to talk about him. She then used a hypnosis spell to reassure that nopony would tell anypony else about it. Class ended, and Star Swirl found out how to get to Luna's house. After Star had his special class, he walked to Luna's. They talked to each other about Demon Shadow, and Celestia came in.
"What are you talking about?" Celestia asked.
"Nothing," Luna said. Star Swirl went home, and decided to visit Luna everyday.
