The Life and Times of Sunny Smile

You Can Rely on Friends. If You Don't They Drag You Away To Interrogate You.

I was attempting to read my new copy of Harry Trotter and the Alicorn Prince. It was a gift from Mythic. Attempting being the key word here. I was on a cloud above my house and Jingle Fluff kept yelling at me. I groaned and slid off my cloud flapping my newly developed eagle wings landing in front of her. On my back. "What?" I groaned. "I just got to the part where Harry takes Selena to Professor Slughorn's party!"
"That won't be important in a few minutes!" She levitated my book away from me and put it through my open window. I flapped my wings in a vain attempt to get away. She gasped my tail in her magical aura.
A small time later we arrived at a smaller barn Jingle used to make bells. Mythic, Lightning, and Bubble were standing there looking at me. I was still trying to escape Jingle's aura. She finally dropped me on the ground and I immediately tried to get away. I was then once again wrapped in Jingle's aura. Bubble stepped forward and began speaking. "Sunny, we have all gathered here out of concern for your sanity, well-being, and the same for us. We have been worried about you. The last few days you've been snappy, withdrawn, and scarce. Is something wrong?"
I inhaled sharply and replied, "Absolutely nothing. And now if you'll excuse me." And with that I teleported outside. I spread my wings and shoot off into the sky, breathing so quickly I was almost hyperventilating. I found a cloud pretty far all the others and perched on it. I curled up and closed my eyes allowing my breathing to return to normal.
A short while, judging by the movements of the Sun, maybe 20 or so minutes I heard wings flapping behind me. "What?" I snapped almost not caring who it was.
"Sunny? Look, I know you're upset about something but we can't help you unless we know what's wrong." It was Mythic Blitz.
I rolled my eyes and growled, "Did it ever cross your mind that maybe I don't want nor need your help? That might be how you get over things, but not me. So please, go away."
"Fine." He turned then yelled, "Now!" A small done surrounded my cloud. A magic proof dome. Mythic pushed my cloud to the ground. "Now Sunny we can be here all day. We will wait until you tell us what is going on."
I knew he was serious, so I took a few deep breaths before muttering, tears brimming my eyes, "My grandma Velvet died last week."
I heard the collective gap of my friends as the dome went down with my resistance. Tears poured down my face and Mythic slowly approached and wrapped his forehooves around me. I sobbed into his shoulder and released all the pain from recently. A few minutes after that I pulled away and wiped my face. I looked up at my friend and gave a quiet, "Thanks." before flying home.
