//------------------------------// // Story // Story: The Dragon With The Wagon // by Hungrybear //------------------------------// The Sun was not out. It was nothing but rain. So we sat in the schoolhouse And thought how boredom was a pain. I sat there with Applebloom. And with Scootaloo too. And we thought to ourselves, "What in Equestria can we do?" Too wet to go out. Too cold to embark. So we sat in the schoolhouse. Not earning our cutie marks. So all we could do was: Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. But why throw a fit? BUMP! Then something went bump. How that bump made us jump! We turned. Then we saw him come in through the door. We turned and we saw him more! This is true, we are not bragging. There he was. A Dragon! A Dragon With a Wagon! Was it a dream, or a strange day? But he said to us, "Why do you sit there, rather than play?" "It is cold" "It is wet" "And we can't go outside, that you can bet." "I know it rains, and the sun does not hold. But we can have lots of fun, come, let us play and be bold." "I know that you are bored all of today," said the Dragon. "But I know some fun games, they are really great to play." Said the Dragon with the Wagon. "Look at the wagon I have brought, It has all that we'll need. I'll show them to you. You three will all see. Your teacher would not mind, If I do this deed." Applebloom, Scootaloo or I did not know what to say. We were supposed to be watching the schoolhouse for our teacher, for the rest of the day. "No, No, No! Tell that Dragon you do not want to play with him! He'll make a mess of the schoolhouse, the chances he won't are slim! Listen to me fillies, Do not let him stay! Tell him take his Wagon, and to go away!" Said Winona. "Now, Now dear pet, don't be modest. I'm only here to bring fun, That I promise. Why we can all have fun if you so desire. With a little game I call, Doggy Flier!" Said the Dragon as he bragged. It was surely true, he did not intend to make this a drag. So from his wagon, he searched for what was needed. He was determined to find it, But Winona only pleaded. "Oh, Dragon leave now and let us be. You will only cause trouble, that much I can see!" But He did not listen, he disregarded, that Dragon. Eagerly he continued, to search through his Wagon. Items of all kinds he threw out. From diamonds to thread. From books to pastries, And Apples, bright red. "Ah here it is!" Said The Dragon. "Now watch, my crusaders! Winona shall fly, I'm quite the persuader." Applebloom, Scootaloo and I watched and we waited. Could it be true? Or was his act to be deflated? From His Wagon, He held an item in his claw. A small blue pouch, that we saw. "Now watch Winona, and you shall take to the air. You will fly high and soar fast, from here to there! Just hold still and I'll put this on you, this Pegasus Dust. For you to grow wings, It is but a must." "I do not wish to grow wings! You are senile. Now depart now, Miss Cheerilee will return in a while!" "Fear not, Dear dog, that is fine. I will not cross the line. I wish no harm to you, this I swear. I will just sprinkle this dust on you to wear. Now please note, that It might sting a bit, But don't worry, and please don't throw a fit." The Dragon pulled the string around the pouch, and it opened with ease. He saw the Pegasus Dust within, and he was pleased. He grabbed a pinch with his claw and sprinkled it on Winona, who began to shake. Was it the dust, or just a small quake? Bouncing up and down, Winona continued to shake, Still wearing a frown. POP! POP! Two wings, that of a Pegasus Pony grew on Winona sides. She became angry, she would not let this slide. But before she could lecture the smiling Dragon. She took the air, and zoomed over his Wagon. Up and down, side to side, Winona flew. "You crazy Dragon! How dare you do this!" were the insults she threw. All across the room she soared through the air. She was so fast, she went from here to there. We watched in excitement, We watched in awe. It was clear to us today, Nature had no law. "Put me down, Put me down! I do not wish to fly I tell you! What drives you to do this to me, You're departure is due! Why must you bother us? Why don't you run? Are you insane, surely this isn't called fun! " Winona said. "Of course that is what it's called dear Winona, don't you see? The Cutie Mark Crusaders, they smile with glee! But have it your way, if you wish to stop the fun. The wings will disappear soon, on this day of no sun. But don't worry my crusaders, for I can do much more. Just look!" Then all of a sudden, The Dragon was balancing atop a ball! It was amazing, but of course that wasn't all. "Look now crusaders, I am on a ball, Have no fear for I wont fall. I can balance on one leg, While i hold a dish of cupcakes with the other! But that's not all, here's another! Look at me now! I can balance five books atop my head. They wont tumble, that I am sure, And these diamonds atop this ball of thread I hold in my claw. Now watch these apples I'll balance on my nose, You'll be in awe. In my other claw, I'll balance this rake with a cake, It's no trouble at all, this will only need one take. There's no need to worry crusaders, for I won't stumble. It's simple for me when the clouds outside rumble. It's easy to be bold and have fun! It's easy to play, on this day of no sun. But that's not all!" That is what the Dragon said, Right before he plummeted down to the ground hitting his head. And we all watched with dismay as all the things he carried flew through the room, crashing down their separate ways. Winona was still up and about as she soared, Until she fell to the ground her wings were no more. With a thud she came down, And when she turned around It looked as though a tornado had hit a town. "Ah! This is fun you say? Oh no it is not! Just look at this mess, Miss Cheerilee will be distraught! What a fiasco! Look at this look at that! You got diamonds in your cake! And apples on our rake You've got books and thread in your cupcakes! This whole mess is a lake! Leave now with you bragging! And take that wagon you dragged in!" "But I do not wish to go. You must understand that this is so. I enjoy playing with you all, I like it a lot. Do not worry dear Winona, I'll have this cleaned on the spot!" "And how do you propose you do that? Surely, you don't suppose it can done. Are you truly insane? Or are you just short one?" "Come now, Winona, I am no loon. For a clean and tidy schoolhouse, these two are truly a boon." And then, he went back to his wagon. What could be searching this time, that Dragon? And then, quick as a fox, He pulled out a box. A very big box. It was shut with a lock "Now look at this, These two are surely needed when things are amiss." Said the Dragon. Then he got up on top of it And took a bow What could it be, and how? "I have what we need for this mess in this box, But it has a lock Don't worry, I'll unlock, and you'll hear a knock. Inside they'll come out to play, But I won't delay, so with that, Meet Brat One and Brat Two" And out of the box, dashing to us were two fillies. They resemble somepony we knew, it was rather silly. "These brats will not harm you, they only want to have fun. So look now, as there they run." They ran to us fast and said "Hello, how are you, Life is like a good tune, But no more of that, I'm Diamond Tiara and here's Silver Spoon!" We all did not know what to do, without further ado, we said Hello But Winona said "No, No, No! This certainly won't do! Put them back in the box, Away with Brat One and Brat Two! Those two should not be here, they should not be about! They should not be here, While Miss Cheerilee is out!" "Don't worry Winona, these two are good brats. They'll clean up the mess, There's no need for that! The mess will be cleaned up, and then we can have fun! That is what is needed, on this day of no sun." "Now here is a game they like to play, They'll have lots of fun, oh what a wonderful day! These two like to fly kites." Said the Dragon. "No, No, not in the schoolhouse! They should not fly kites in the schoolhouse, oh what a mess they'll make! They'll ruin the place, if those kites you don't take! What a fiasco! What a disaster! Oh Dragon, for trouble, you're clearly a master!" Then we looked at the two, as they ran down the hall, Oh the disaster of it all! They ran around the room. We saw as their kites zoomed! Their kites would hit the walls and oh the things that would fall. We thought they would clean this mess, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. This was not good, Miss Cheerilee would be back soon! They ran up, they ran down, We watched in dismay, and Winona could only frown. They knocked over desks, they threw books on the floor. It was enough, we could not watch anymore. They flinged pencils, they dropped papers, They kicked the walls, they broke the chalkboard, Oh for a big mess, this place became a hoard. The decision was made we did not like how they played. Oh, if Miss Cheerilee could see this, the things she would say. Then Winona said "Look, Look!" She shook with fright. "Miss Cheerilee is on her way here! Oh when she sees this, Our futures won't be bright! What will she do to us? What will she say? Oh the shame, what a horrible day! She won't like it at all to see us this way!" "Please do something! We can't let her see! We must fix this fast, we can't let this be! There has to be some way, We must be quick! You have to do something, Any kind of trick!" So as fast as she could, Scootaloo went for her scooter to ride. She told us "Get on!" What could Me and Applebloom do but abide? And she zoomed through the room, And she said "We can catch up with them if we go this fast, We can't let them keep playing, we can't let it last. We can catch them, Yes we can get them I bet. Because if we do not, then our fate will be set!" We rode as fast we could to the two, For Miss Cheerilee would come in very soon. So we caught them right there, It was what we must do. We grabbed them and stopped them, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. We jumped off the scooter, we had them at last. But we had bigger problems, we had to be fast. Then I said to the Dragon, "Now you listen to me! You've made a horrible mess don't you see. A big messy mess, Oh how she'll be sad, dear Miss Cheerilee. We must have this cleaned up right away! So leave us now Dragon, so we can crusade another day! Away with you now, for she'll be here soon! And take those two with you, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Go now and depart you Dragon! And don't forget to take them with you, And also, your Wagon!" "Oh dear, oh my. You did not like our game I fear. Then perhaps it really is time, I must say goodbye." So, the Dragon shut up the two brats in his box, and he set the lock, and began to walk away. Away he went, he walked outside, his wagon behind, and shut the door. His presence in the schoolhouse was no more. The mess was large, It was quite the catastrophe. Things thrown here, things thrown there. How would we ever pick it up? There was just too much of it everywhere. The rake that held cake, still lay, with the floor as its bed, still it lay, with the apples bright red. The cupcakes were mush on the floor, and the books were thrown about. But we had to clean it up, There was no time to pout. "The Dragon is gone?" Winona asked. "He has gone away, I see. Oh how I should be filled with glee. But this mess is still here, There's no time for cheer. When Miss Cheerilee gets here, She will see this big mess. But this mess is too big, too large, too tall. We cannot pick it up, there's no way at all." And then, The door opened, we were ready to face the trouble. But when we turned to see who it was, it was clear through the mess that was like rubble. It was the Dragon! He returned to the schoolhouse with his Wagon! "Do not worry dear Cutie Mark Crusaders, do not fret! For I am here to help you, Punishment, you will not get. I had told you before, so that you may heed. I had told you before, that your teacher would not mind if I did this deed. I said I was honest, and I always keep my promise. There is no need to worry you three. For I will clean this up in no time, you will see!" Said the Dragon. "I always clean up my mess after my games and so. So I will show an easy way to clean this up, before I go!" From his Wagon we saw it, it reached out with many claws. It picked up all the mess, We and Winona watched in awe. It cleaned up the cupcakes, and It picked up the rake, And it wiped off the cake, and the apples it took. It cleaned up so fast, Why we could only look! It fixed up the chalkboard, and tidied up the wall. It cleaned up Winona, And then that was all! "Amazing," we thought, It truly was, we knew. The mess was all gone, and without further ado, The Dragon had to go now. So he held the handle of his wagon, turned to us and took a bow. "It's fun to have fun, but you have to know how. It's easy to play and be bold, and have fun. Anything is possible, even on a day with no sun. When it's cold and wet and you can't play in the lawn, Just remember that tomorrow is a new dawn." Said the Dragon, and with that he was gone. Miss Cheerilee had came in, and she said to us three. "Hello girls! How did it go? Were you really bored, or was it not so?" We only smiled with glee, Could we really tell her? Tell her all the fun we got to see? Do we tell her what really happened that day? So we looked to each other, and we all thought, "What the hay." "Hi Miss Cheerilee, It was not so as you say. We had lots of fun, while you were away."
