//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: The Werepony Project // by Dusk Storm //------------------------------// “Twilight!” Spike called. “Huh?” asked Twilight, just waking from her bookish daze. “Princess Celestia wants to see you at the palace. She also said you wouldn't need to bring anything.” “When?” “Soon.” “Then let's get going!” Quickly, the lavender unicorn used her magic to levitate the dragon onto her back as she ran out the door. It was customary, though Spike still shook his head. He had never quite gotten used to it. They boarded the train to Canterlot, sinking into the seats. Twilight was still fretting about their arrival, though. What would it be about? Why did the princess wish her company? Her mind chugged away more thoughts as they headed closer and closer to their destination. ~ “Hello, my faithful student. I'm glad you were able to come,” Celestia greeted Twilight. Twilight nuzzled her teacher, replying. "It's my pleasure, really!" The two talked about their experiences for some time, with Spike occasionally chipping in. It wasn't a conversation focused on anything on particular, just a chat to exchange happenings. After a while, Luna interrupted them. “Pardon the interruption sister, but I recommend we get on with our project.” “Ah, I suppose we should. Come along, Twilight.” Luna gave Celestia a look, but didn't say anything. Twilight Sparkle followed the princesses into a room she hadn't seen before. It was a small-sized room, though there was enough room for you to comfortably walk through. Upon further inspection, there was already a pony sitting down. “Well, princesses. Welcome back, I suppose. And I see that you're bringing someone with you,” said the mare. “Leave her alone, Lemon Drop.” “Fine, fine. After all, I wouldn't want to lose your respect, Princesses Luna.” She snickered. “Enough. We are here for the final test on Project X, and that is what shall be done.” Twilight looked at Celestia, who just shook her head. She watched as the younger alicorn poured something into a cup, and gave it to Lemon Drop. She made an unpleasant face as she downed the glass.
