The Elements of Affinities

Seeing the Future

(Rarity's POV)

So much screaming...killing...violence...tragedy...I don't...I can't "AAAAHHHH!!!" I jolted up. I then smoothed my mane back and sighed. I can't keep living like this! The visions, the tragedies, and the violence. So brutish. Why did it have to be me!? Why did I have to get the headaches and the tragedies. As I shook my head, my head throbbed and my vision whited out! Oh no! Not another one! It came hard and fast, overpowering me to my knees and onto the carpeted floor. I screamed in agony.

Me and my friends were sitting there, laughing, talking, practicing our affinities. All was so serene and peaceful I almost assumed this would be a good vision. That no suffering and murder would be involved. Almost. Then, danger came hard and fast. It was...Discord? He charged toward us and Pinkie Pie rushed up in a roar of water. He smacks her hard on her cheek, catapulting her into the mist. Twilight next, followed by Fluttershy. Discord punches her stomach several times, pushing her into the mist. Discord moved in on Fluttershy, breaking her foreleg and throwing her onto the ground, the earth engulfing her.

Rainbow Dash next. She charges at her full speed, fire trailing behind her. Discord grabs her foreleg and delivers punches to her stomach. Rainbow bit back a scream and instead groaned. He then kicked her, catapulting her into the eery mist that crowded us. I assumed Applejack was next, but I didn't have time to see, because Discord burned her! She screamed and went up in flames. Discord moved to me. I crossed my forelegs in front of my face, but he kicked me away, me falling hard onto my back. I moan in pain, then he towers over me and dangles his claws into my personal space. I screamed. Loud and painful as he inched closer. Then, Discord backs away. I ran into the mist. Nothing. Only blackness. I screamed in agony.

I didn't really know what happened, but then I blacked out and my face hit the floor. The last thing I saw was a lock of my tamed curly purple mane glowing magenta.

I opened my eyes to see Rainbow Dash, her burgundy eyes filled with concern, multicolored mane hanging over her eyes. I felt my heart squeeze when I saw her. No freaking way I could tell her that I saw her die in the future. But, if I tell her, then we might be able to prevent our deaths in the future. If only I knew what day the vision took place.

I can see i'm weirding Rainbow out, so I smile and try to get up. I bumped into her, our muzzles touching accidentally. I pulled away and blushed. Her eyes widened and she blushed, but she soon shrugged it off, her foreleg still wrapped around me, pressing my cheek against her chest. I smiled. She could be so comforting when she wants to be.

She was so cute, and pretty when she smiled...Oh god, I have to find Twilight and tell her about my vision. Then, as my luck would have it, I had another vision. This one hurt my head and heart. I screamed, causing Rainbow to wrap her forelegs around me tighter.

I sat by the coffin, which was cyan and read:Here Lies Rainbow Dash. No. No. NO! She dies!? Can I stop it? Actually, since it's a vision, my thoughts are more along the lines of 'I could've saved her!' Here's how vision Rainbow Dash died. But I really don't want to tell ANYONE. Oh, well. Guess I have to.

I screamed a very high and terrified scream. The dragon inched closer, licking his lips and breath heated. I took some deep breaths, then screamed. Just then, I heard Rainbow shout "Step away from the girl!" She yelled. She fought the dragon, and won! Then, when she flew over to me to check on me, the dragon retaliated with a hiss and fiery burp, sending Rainbow up in flames.

The flames continued to lick at her fur and skin, Rainbow refusing to scream, no matter how much I knew she wanted to. She then fell to the ground, her body charred. I ran to her wrapping my forelegs around her charred remains. She stirred stiffly. "Hiya, Rares." She choked. I choked-sobbed and rubbed my cheek against hers. She then went limp in my arms. The remaining sprites of fire in her skin flickered out, and one of my best friends died.

Then it was just a confused mess of a funeral. Some comforted me, some glared at me, as if I did it. As if I killed her. That's when my vision self locked herself in her shoppe and never came back out. I shuddered. Then, I heard a voice that sounded familiar. Oddly, and faintly familiar. "Rar~ity" I heard someone sing-songed. They sounded a lot like Rainbow.

My vision self lunged out of bed. When she got to the top of the steps, she stopped. There, she was backing up fearfully. I didn't know why, then I saw what she was gawking at, and that's when I gasped for air. There, trudging toward my vision self, was Rainbow Dash? "Rar~ity? Come find me, Rares." Not-Rainbow sing-songed. I shuddered in fear. Vision Rainbow Dash had mud all over her, she wasn't charred, which was weird, seeing as she burned to death, she had cracks running down her cheeks to her chest.

Vision Rainbow Dash tilted her head to the side. "Come play with me, Rarity." Not-Rainbow sing-songed. Vision Rarity screamed, then fainted. Then the Not-Rainbow Dash that was just standing there disappeared in a flash of ember and dust. I gasped.

Then, my real self blacked out again, with me falling into Rainbow's forelegs.
