Chapter 1

Chapter 1

(Perspective: Orion)

"Ugh. I need a holiday."

I had been laying in a crater for the past two hours, doing nothing because... well, I couldn't. Aside from the fact that I could not properly feel the vast majority of my body, but every time I tried to move, a wave of pain shot through every fiber of my being, causing my to want to vomit. I couldn't even attempt to turn my head.

How I was still alive in the first place... '?'

So because of that, I was just content to lay still and stare up into the sky that was above me. It was a beautiful sight... the sky. It must have been late afternoon because she sun was sending golden rays over the horizon, making the sky have a orange appearance.

I closed my eyes and let out a sigh. Take away the fact that I was crippled and the fact that the Earth was most likely in trouble, the sight seemed breathtaking... Not literally, but...

... Yeah.

I felt my heart beat slowing down ever so discreetly. I may have been alive, but I knew for a fact that there was no way I would have gotten out of Omega's attack without any sort of injury. My shots and twinges of pain that I felt occasionally sided with the strange feeling of warm sticky wetness underneath my back, which I presumed to be blood, confirmed what I already knew.

I was alive, but unless I could move and find some medical attention, I wouln't be for much longer.

It wasn't all that bad. Dying. I mean, I tried to save Earth, but...

'What am thinking? I'm a failure.' I thought to myself as tears came to my eyes. 'I tired. I tried so hard to save the world. But instead I just ended up making history repeat itself. I made one mistake with my stupid wish and ruined everything.'

I wanted to cry at my failure, but I was too tired to even do something as simple as that. Instead, I just thought about all those people I failed, the souls that died and will most likely die again.

I felt my heart continue to slow down even further which was followed by an excruciating cramp in my chest area. On instinct, I tried to put a hand on my chest, but the sudden movement sent a scorching burning pain through my arm that spread through my shoulder and my chest. I wanted to scream out in pain, but I couldn't.

I relaxed tried to relax myself as best as I could in an attempt to quell the pain, but doing so made my eyes feel so heavy that I didn't think I would ever be able to open them again.

My breathing began to slow as well. I knew what was happening, my body was slowly beginning to fail. Sadly, I had accepted it. I felt that this was reasonable punishment for failing.

I felt my mind beginning to drift and...

"Hurry! I'm loosing him!"

My mind came back as I heard the female voice, but only just. Maybe, just maybe, I will live through this after all.

"Tia, we have found him! He is inside the old castle!" I heard the female voice call out. I then heard what sounded like larger-than-normal footsteps beside my head before I felt myself being lifted up off the ground by a pair of arms as whoever was calling out cradled me in their arms. "Tis alright young one. We promise thee will be alright."

'Uh what?'

I heard a weird jingling sound before a soothing sensation washed over me. I felt my mind beginning to slip, but this time was a lot faster, as if I was being put to sleep.

I wanted to protest, wake up and open my eyes so I could find out who was putting me to sleep. But I was loosing.

Soon, my mind slipped and I fell into a deep sleep.

~~~~~
"Tis going to be ok dear sister. Thine child has survived his ordeal and is now recovering." I heard the female voice from before I passed out say.
"I know Luna, but look at him. He looks like he has suffered so much pain. What kind of mother am I to allow my own son to be harmed in such a way?"
'Wait, I swear I have heard that voice before.' I thought to myself in confusion. 'No, I must be imagining things. Loss of blood can do that.'
"No Celestia. We shall not allow thee to blame herself for events beyond her control. Thee were not the one responsible for thine child's condition." this so called Luna said sternly.
"But..." Celestia began, but was cut off as I heard a door open.
"Ah, Doctor Goodcare. Mine sister needs to be reassured that this one will be fine." Luna said.
"Oh, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, I can guarantee that the patient will return to full health soon. I will admit that during his checkup three days ago, his magic reserves were alarmingly low for anypony let alone an Alicorn, but his condition has improved significantly since then and is making a remarkable recovery." I heard a male voice say.
'What the hell is going on? And what the hell is an Alicorn?' I asked myself. I was confused... No, I was beyond that. There isn't even a word for how lost I was at that moment.
"Doctor, when do you suppose he will wake up?" Celestia asked in a quieter tone than before.
"Let me see here." he said before I heard what sounded like hoofsteps on a tiled floor. I felt something that was definitely not fingers touch my face and carefully open my eye.
My eyesight was blurred. All I could see was a giant blob of brown in front of me. I tried to blink to clear my vision, but I couldn't. It was as if I was too weak to do that.
"Hmm. As far as I can tell, he is in a semi-coma. He body is still as if it is asleep, but his mind seems to be functioning as if he is awake." the doctor said.
"S-So he can hear and see us?" Celestia asked.
My eyesight faded out again as the doctor let go of my eyelids. "I'm sorry Princess, but I truly do not know for certain. As far as I can tell, he seems to be in some sort of trance. But this is all just theory. I cannot no for certain of what is fact to an Alicorn because no doctor has ever needed to heal one before."
"What does thou mean by that?" Luna asked.
"Its faint, by along side his magic, there seems to be another form of energy, something that is not natural to any other sub-race of our kind. I do not know if it is to him or not, but whatever it is, it seems really weak."
"Can you describe the energy you picked up on?" Celestia asked.
"My best diagnosis is... well, we all know that natural magic comes from the mind. But whatever this energy is, it seems to be seeping from every fiber of his being, especially his heart. Aside from that, I cannot really describe it. I'm sorry" the doctor said with a shameful tone.
"Do not be sorry Doctor Goodcare. It is not your fault. Besides, even though I am not 100% certain, I might have an idea to what the energy is. If it is, you need not worry for it is a gift he inherited from his father. But just to be sure, I would like to do a scry myself if that is ok?" I heard Celestia ask.
"By all means Princess. If you think that he is going to be fine with this energy inside of him, that I wont worry about it any more."
With that said, I heard movement before hearing the same jingling sound as I heard before I passed out last time. But this time, instead of passing out, I only felt my body go numb for about a minute before returning to normal.
"It is ok Doctor. The energy inside him is fine." Celestia said.
"With all due respect Princess, what is it?" the doctor asked.
"That particular energy type is called 'Ki'. It primarily has one purpose, but with the right soul to wield it, it can become a beacon of hope to all those who need defending." Celestia explained.
'Hu, By that explanation, I dare say that this Princess knows more about Ki than she is letting on. But I wonder how she knows so much about me in particular, or my father for that matter? I didn't even know him.' I thought to myself. But thinking that led me to other thoughts.
I tried to remember back to the earliest thought I could. My mind stopped at the memory of me being in my first year of training in martial arts. I could not remember past the day I had my accident. I was only 9 years old when that happened. I strained to try and remember past that point, but I couldn't.
I sighed internally and gave up. There was no use giving myself an aneurysm trying to remember something I couldn't, not when I was in a limbo of consciousness of sorts and had others talking about me in weird ways. If I did, I might have missed an important piece of information.
"I have one final question doctor, about his injury that he suffered to the head?" Celestia asked.
"Oh... that... Well, we wont know what kind of damage has been done until we can asses him after he wakes up. But I don't think that that will be for a while yet." the doctor said before letting out a hum of thought. "I need to roll him over soon. Just so he wont develop bed sores."
"Would you like some help?" Celestia asked.
"Ah, yes. Thank you." the doctor responded.
I heard the jingling sound start up again before I felt my body begin to lift off the bed I was on. Strangely enough, I didn't feel anything touch me. It was as If I just began to float up on my own accord. But I was more limp than a balloon filled with water so I knew I wasn't the one floating. They had to be doing it.
I soon felt myself roll over so I was stomach down. I was laying on my back before, so I guessed that they were doing to lay me on my stomach now. I felt myself being lowered down and I prepared to try and get comfortable. But something happened. The moment I was back down on the bed, I knew something was wrong.
'What the hell? Why does my bodys joint's feel all wrong?' I asked myself. My neck felt longer than it should have, my elbows felt... backwards and I'm not even going to describe how my legs felt.
My heart rate began to pick up as the truth dawned on me. I knew my body and how it worked, but this was not it. This was something else entirely. I was in the body of something else.
"Doctor, what is happening?" I heard Celestia ask worriedly.
"I-I don't know. His heart rate seems to be picking up for no reason. He must be having a bad dream or something." I felt something jab into my neck before my mind began to slip again. I also heard the sound of a heart rate monitor slowing down. "There we go, he is stablizing now."
'What is happening to me?' was my last thought before I passed out again into sleep.
~~~~~

I awoke again to the steady beeping of the same heart rate monitor as before. Except, I had control of my body this time.

My eyes fluttered open slowly and and took in their surroundings. The first thing I saw as my senses returned to me was the roof of a dark room.

'It must be nighttime.' I thought to myself before slowly bringing a hand to the side of my head.

*Clunk*

"Ow." I hissed as I pulled my had away swiftly from my head. My hand seemed harder than normal. I turned to look at what was with my hand and my heart froze.

My eyes widened in shock at what I saw. My hand... was not there, it was a hoof. A hoof covered in cobalt blue fur.

'W-What is this!? What the hell is going on!?!' I shouted in my head. Fear began to wash over me.

I sat up and threw the blanket off of my body, but only to find my entire body was now different. Cobalt blue fur covered my entire body that had dramatically changed shape. I was no longer a saiyan, or even humanoid any more. The more I looked over the body I was in, the more I realized what it was.

I was in the body of an equine.

My guess at first was a horse, but my legs seemed too short for a horse so I came to the conclusion I was in the body of a pony. A cobalt blue pony?

The curious part of my mind had taken over me. This sort of transformation was definitely not natural, but I wanted to know what I really looked like. I could panic later when I knew it would be safe to do so.

I rolled over into a sitting position on the edge of the bed and carefully pushed myself up. On instinct, I tried to stand on two legs, but I ended up falling over onto my stomach on the ground with a thud. I groaned before remembering that horses and ponies walk on four legs, not two.

I mentally slapped myself before trying again, but this time properly as to the bodies norm and making much more success.

I knocked off the leads that led to the heart rate monitor and tried to walk, but only to fall over again. I pushed myself up again before trying again, but much more carefully and making even more progress.

As I wobbly made my way towards the end of the bed I was resting on, I took a moment to look around. I seemed to be in some sort of hospital, that much was obvious to me by the somewhat outdated hospital machines and sterile surfaces.

I got to the end of the bed and noticed a clipboard hanging off the bottom of the bed. I made my way over and wet to pick it up, but only succeeded in putting a hoof against it. I forgot I didn't have fingers any more.

I rolled my eyes and bent my forelegs to take a closer look at the clipboard.

'Well, first things first. They got my name wrong.' I thought to myself as I looked over the clipboard one more time. I rolled my eyes and looked around fora mirror or something, I wanted to know what I looked like to be exact.

I saw a door way that was open and walked over to it. Inside was a bathroom which had a shower, a toilet and one of what I was looking for. A mirror.

I walked up to the mirror and my breath caught in shock at what I saw. I was indeed a blue pony. And true to the writing of the clipboard, I also had white mane and tail. However, what caught my attention the most was the horn I had protruding from my head. I was a unicorn?

'No, wait. The voices I kept hearing called me an 'Alicorn'. There must be more to my appearance.' I thought to myself as I moved my head closer and glared at my appearance. Aside from the fact that I looked all wrong for a pony, I noticed that I had silver eyes.

seeing nothing else, I pulled my head away slowly and sighed. I turned to leave, but that was when I saw my other new addition.

Wings.

I had a pair of Cobalt blue wings pressed firmly by my sides. I looked away from the mirror and over my shoulder. Yep, they were definitely there.

I reached back and poked one of them with a forehoof, feeling the touch as thee nerves of the wing sent impulses up to my brain, telling me that I could indeed feel them. I tried to open them and fly, but failed miserably. I only managed to get then to stretch out, but not make them move in flapping motions.

'Pfft, its not like I need them that much anyway.' I thought to myself, but was then stuck with another thought.

I sat down how a creature on four legs sits down and closed my eyes as I tried to feel out my Ki level. My power was there but... I felt weak. I felt like the vast majority of my power had left me.

"No no! I just got my power high enough to save the world and now it's gone!' I shouted in my head. I worked so hard to get my power level up so high, but I was now right back where I started.

Weak.

I wanted to cry. 'What if Omega attacks again? I wont be able to do anything!' I shouted in my head. I closed my eyes tightly and memories of watching Omega's attack closing in on me replayed in my mind. I began to physically shake at the thought of failing a second time.

'Why? What did I do to be such a failure? What do I have to do to end all the suffering?' I asked myself as I began to break down.I couldn't take it. I had to lay and watch the world be destroyed once, and now I was going to.. have... to... ... ...again?

'Wait a minute. How is the world still here? Did I fail or not?' I asked myself. I needed to know for sure.

I pushed myself up and ran to the window that was beside my hospital bed and gazed out of it. To put it simply, I was confused at what I saw.

I appeared to be in what looked like a stone castle that was situated in the middle of a town I could not recognize. further more, the town seemed to be situated on the side of a mountain.

I was about to voice my concern out loud to myself, but I stopped myself when I head the doorknob that led into the room I was begin to rattle. My head snapped in that direction of the noise and I saw the doorknob moving.

I quickly looked around the room I was in for cover. I had no idea where of even what I was, so I wasn't going to trust whoever came through that door. For all I knew, it was them who made me look like I do.

I looked back outside the window and saw that there was a balcony on the level below the window I was looking out of. I cringed at the thought, but as soon as I heard the door squeak as it began to open, all bets were off.

I vaulted out the window and landed on all fours on the ground below.

"GAH! Ow." I let slip from my mouth before remembering I might be in a bad situation and ducked underneath a table that was on the balcony.

I felt 'my' hooves pulsate from the shock of the landing, but quickly shhok it off as I heard the sound of a commotion coming from the window I had just jumped from.Being mindful of my new horn, I peaked out from under my table and looked back up to the window.

"Guards! Somepony get the guards!" I heard a female voice shout out.

'Darn it. I have to get out of here.' I thought to myself as I scurried out from under the table and to the doors. I tried to open them, but they were locked. 'Damn.' I then ran, or galloped as its called, over the the edge of the balcony and looked down.

'Uh, I don't know about this. Its not that high, but it will still hurt.' I thought to myself as I looked down to the ground below.

"Look, there he is. HALT!" I looked back up to the window and saw another pony looking at me. "Guards! He's on the balcony below!"

'threetwoone.' I counted down really quickly in my mind before vaulting the edge of the balcony and falling to the ground below.

I braced myself as best I could, including tensing my back. To my confusion, my rate of decent rapidly decreased and I gently landed on the grass below.

I looked back over my shoulders and saw my wings had spread out like I had made them do before and that made me land much more gently that I thought I would. I relaxed and my wings folded back up by my sides.

I laughed a bit before beginning to run. I was still not used to this body, but I have to admit. Running on four legs felt so much better than it does on two. It felt more... natural.

I increased my speed further and smiled at my victory. I was getting away, and I knew it.Or so I thought.

My smile faded before a loud rumble emitted from my stomach which was soon followed by a painful cramp. The cramp caused me to yell out in agony before forcing me to wrap both of my forehooves around my midsection. I fell over onto my side and curled into a ball as waves of pain washed over me.

"Quickly guards, he's over here!" I heard a pony call out. I looked over and saw about 20 of them all galloping over to me but my vision began to fade out.

Again, I soon passed out, but this time from exhaustion.
