//------------------------------// // Chapter 15 // Story: Coming to terms with reality........ // by Furstreak //------------------------------// That night had been one that Twilight would never forget, having a stallion to sleep over for the first time, and to do any and everything she wanted just to make her happy. It was a night that would forever remain in her memories. However, upon morning, the lavender mare awoke to the soft snore of the stallion at her side, and a trail of drool leading from his mouth to the pillow. "Ew..." She trailed off for a minute, scrunching her nose in slight disgust. Until she began to smile, wiping the drool away and using a small handkerchief to wipe his mouth, and then close it to eliminate any more of it from leaking out. She continued laying there, smiling warmly toward the stallion that lay next to her. That was of course until she smelled some breakfast being made downstairs and remembered Spike. "Crap, I forgot about Spike last night, I hope he didn't hear anything." She groaned to herself, dreading on having that conversation with the baby dragon. As she was turning over and lifting the cover to get out of bed, she was unceremoniously pulled back in as a pair of hooves wrapped around her midsection and dragged her back under the covers. "And where does my little love muffin think she's going this morning?" Kami chortled as he began to nibble along her neck, making her giggle out. "Oh stop it you, Spike is downstairs making breakfast, and I need to make sure he didn't hear anything from last night." Twilight laughed as he found a particularly ticklish spot. "Can't you stay in bed though? I'd make it worth your while." He purred as he nipped her ear, making her erupt into a bright blush. "Maybe later, right now we've got things to do." She giggled, pushing him away as she moved from the bed and began her way out of the room. "Am I on that list of things to do?" Kami piped up a little causing her to halt in her stride and turn around, wide eyed as she stared at him. He laying seductively across her bed as his tail wagged back and forth playfully. "Maybe..." She grinned. "But for now, breakfast is calling and requires us to eat it." "Oh I can think of something else I'd like to eat right now." Kami chuckled seeing confusion on her face for a moment before her whole body burned red. "KAMI! You need to quite with the innuendos. Spike might hear you, and he is still a baby!" She chastised him only to make him chuckle. "Alright spoil sport, but only until we're alone once again." He grinned, jumping from the bed and trotting up to her side. Gently rubbing up against her and nuzzling her affectionately before heading down the stairs. She trotting close behind as they made way toward the kitchen. Breakfast had been consumed quickly as the two moved on into the library to read through some of the new spell books, as well as a few of the old. That stallion had been very eager to be taught any and all of the new spells so that he could become, not only better at using magic, but now, to have the ability to take care of the pony he loved. Morning lingered on into lunch, and then lunch into dinner before the two had realized that they had spent the entire day together. Much to Twilights pleasure, they had spent that time as an intellectual group of two, learning various things from spells, to alchemy, to Equestrian history. The unicorn stallion had taken to learning everything he could from his new love to the extreme. Every word she spoke would become engraved into his thoughts so that he could pull them up at a later time when he needed them. He soaked up everything she would say like a sponge, holding onto it with every fiber of his being. To bad that was the love potion doing the work, and not his own conscious mind. As the two finished off yet another spell book, a loud gurgle brought them from their revere, and back into reality once again. "Sounds like somepony is hungry." Twilight giggled toward the stallion, he just giving a sheepish smile. "I can't help it is learning new things makes me work up an appetite." He laughed. "How about we go out for something? My treat." "Sounds good to me, but it is awful late." Twilight sighed, looking to the clock on the wall. "I'm sure there is at least one place open, come on, lets go." He chirped happily as he got up from his seat and headed toward the door. "Alright..." Twilight spoke out hesitantly, giving a nervous smile. After several minutes of trotting around, they finally came upon a small diner not far from Sugarcube Corner. It was rather small, and there were a few other ponies there, but overall, it was a nice establishment. Entering into the diner, the two took a booth in a far corner, away from prying eyes so that they could snuggle up to one another as they shared a menu to look through. After a quick glance through the menu, the two had decided on ordering the same thing, but only because Kami insisted that Twilight order first so that he could have some extra time to choose, only to order the same thing she had to look cute. After placing their order, the two began a quiet conversation. "So Twi, what are your plans for the future?" Kami asked as he looked down to her as he nosed her cheek. "The future? Well, I plan on continue studying under the Princess, in order to become a better pony." "But you're an awesome pony! How could you get any better?" Kami laughed, causing her to giggle a little. "Maybe, but I still have a lot to learn. I was chosen by the princess to be her protege when I was still a foal, and I don't plan on letting her down." She smirked. "Well, that's all well and good I guess, but what I meant was, what do you have planned for us?" He smiled warmly toward the lavender unicorn causing her eyes to go a little wide. "W-well, I don't know... If everything goes well, then maybe we could move in together, get married, maybe have a foal or two." She blushed bright rubbing her cheeks a little in embarrassment. "Now that sounds like a nice plan." He purred, leaning down a little to nibble on her neck. "Ahem." Came the voice of the waitress as she strode up to the table and began to place their orders down. "Here you two lovebirds are. Fresh from the stove." She smiled warmly to them, only to cause Twilight to burn ten shades of red as she pushed Kami away. "Th-thank you." The lavender unicorn smile sheepishly, Kami only rolling his eyes a little in annoyance. "Twi, what is up with you? It's like you don't want anypony to know we're going out. Can't I even neck with you a little in front of others? I mean, I know it makes other mares jealous, but it also shows that you're comfortable around others enough to show some affection with me." He sighed as he leaned back a little in his seat. "Kami... I am comfortable around you, but I've never done this before..." She trailed off for a moment as she levitated a fork from beside her plate and idly began to poke at her food. "It's just... new to me is all. I mean, I want us to stay together, but... Can you give me some time to adjust? Please?" Kami rolled his eyes once again giving a laugh as he nosed her cheek again. "Sure thing love, I'll go easy on the PDA until you're more comfortable. But when we get home...." He trailed off for a moment as he leaned over and began to whisper into her ear. Each word he spoke causing her eyes to go a little wider and her face to flush even brighter. "Kami!!!! Oh my Celestia!" She sputtered in disbelief. "I never imagined you to be so....." "Naughty?" He grinned playfully as he wiggled his eyebrows. "Yea, I can be that, or something else if you prefer." He purred again as he nipped her ear. "But then again, I could be anything you want, as long as it makes you happy." At this moment, Twilights heart was racing with excitement, for more reasons than one. When she first met Kami, he seemed so demur when it came to talking. In many ways, just like Fluttershy. After a few days, he had opened up a little more to show her more of his personality, and what he was like personally. Now however, he had completely obliterated all of his boundaries and showed her exactly what he was like when it came to being in a relationship, and it was nothing like she imagined. After a short time, the two had finished their meals and headed back from the diner toward the library. All along the short trip, the stallion rubbing up against the young mare and trying to get her to lighten up a little. She on the other hoof, was trying to figure out a way to make the stallion, less affectionate. She admitted to herself that she did enjoy the past twenty four hours, but now she was getting a little sick of how clingy the stallion was being. Silently cursing herself for giving the love potion to the stallion that was trying his best to arouse her as they walked along. As the two finally made it to the library, Twilight paused just outside the door as she caught Kamis attention, which at that moment, wasn't hard to do. "Kami, I really enjoyed our time together today, and last night. But I think you should head home and come by the library tomorrow." She paused, seeing the look of horror across the stallions face. "B-but Twi, I thought we.... us.... why do you want me to go home?! Don't you want me here? With you?" He sputtered in shock, his eyes at pinpoints and his breath turning a little ragged in worry. "Yes, I do want you here... But I need some time alone to think about all that we studied today, and I can't do that while you're constantly loving on me." She sighed, facehoofing. "I'll just sit to the side, I won't do anything! I'll be a statue! You won't even know I'm there!" He continued his protest, feeling panic set in. "Kami, stop it. You don't need to worry so much." She groaned. "Are you.... dumping me?!" He squeaked out as his eyes threatened to erupt into a fountain of tears. "NO! No.... I'm not dumping you. But you're being to clingy right now, and that's...." She paused as he raise his hooves waving them in front of himself quickly. "Say no more! Say no more! I completely understand. I'll see you tomorrow morning." He forced a worried smile onto his face as he turned, bolting down the path toward his home. Twilight gave a confused blink before sighing happily as she turned and went into the library for the night. Kami on the other hoof had a million questions running through his mind as he galloped full stride toward his home. It had taken the better part of ten minutes at full gallop, but Kami had reached his home and gone inside, breathing hard as he trotted into his bathroom and jumped into the shower to cool off. "Oy! I can't believe Twilight made me go home." He groaned, thinking of that sweet little lavender unicorn. "But, the sooner I get to sleep, the sooner I can wake up and be at her side in the morning." He smiled happily thinking about having a wonderful breakfast with the librarian of his dreams. No sooner had the young stallion gotten into the shower, than he had jumped out, dried off and headed to bed. The thoughts of a seductive librarian mare dancing through his head.
