Twilight Sparkle woke up and got out of bed. She made it up, tucking the purple sheets neatly. She looked in the mirror and took off her nightie, put on her white underwear, and pulled on the white button top. She ajusted her grey skirt and pulled up her grey thigh length socks. She put on the sky blue, non sleeved jacket and grey tie, and fastened up her grey shoes. Twilight brushed her long dark blue hair, and straightened up the purple and pink streaks. She gave herself a confident smile, picked up her light purple messenger bag and walked out of her bedroom, locking the door as she knew her brother Spike would probably invade it whilst she was gone.
Twilight walked into the kitchen and made buttered toast, and sat down at the dining room table opposite Spike, next to her mum and diagonal from her dad.
"Are you excited, Twilight?" Asked her mum.
"I'm excited, but I'm nervous too..." Twilight mumbled.
Twilight's other brother, Shining Armour, came into the room.
"You'll be fine, Twilie." He smiled, and Twilight smiled too. "I have to go as well, Cadence is expecting me. So, I wish you good luck, and I got you a good luck gift too." Shining Armour placed a wrapped up gift on the table infront of Twilight and Twilight smiled and gave him a big hug.
"Thank you!" She squealed excitedly.
"Ugh, your such a girl, Shining Armour." Spike groaned.
"I'm only being nice. You should try it Spike, you might get a girlfriend that way." Shining Armour laughed. He left, and Twilight finished her toast.
"Ready to go?" Asked Twilight's mum.
"Yes..." Whispered Twilight.
"What's wrong, hunny?" Asked her mum.
"I feel a bit... queezy..." Twilight groaned.
"It's a bit of nerves." Her mum smiled. The family got ready to go, and Twilight grabbed her black suitcase. "Just imagine you're going on holiday!"
Twilight pulled the suitcase along the front yard's pathment, and got into the back of the car, next to Spike. Her dad drove, and Twilight's mum put in her CD. They sung along as if they really were going on holiday. They pulled up infront of the Canterlot train station, where Celestia, Twilight's teacher, met them.
"Are you ready to go Twilight?" Asked Celestia.
Twilight nodded and Celestia also gave her a good luck gift.
"I'll see you in a year or so then, Miss Twilight." She smiled, and left.
Twilight turned to her family.
"The train should be coming within 5 minutes." Her dad told her. Twilight nodded and turned to look at the train tracks. She was feeling more excited then nervous now, and couldn't wait to start school. New lessons, new tasks, more learning, more studying! She couldn't wait, and she squealed in excitement.
"I think it was mean of Shining A to just leave like that instead of seeing you off." Her mum said, shaking her head, when Shining Armour came running up to them with Cadence!
"Twilight! Shining Armour told me you were leaving! I wanted to say bye..." Cadence said with a shaky voice. Twilight gave her a hug, and the whole family joined in, apart from Spike, who stood and watched. He didn't like hugs.
The train came and the whole family smiled and said bye for the last time. Twilight picked up her suitcase and walked towards the train. Spike ran after her, his green hair flying back.
"I got you a gift too..." Spike told her, giving her a parcel. He looked in case anyone was watching, and pulled her in for a hug, planting a sneaky kiss on her cheek. "Bye... Twilie." He grinned and Twilight did too, and she got on the train. Her family waved to her, and she waved back out of the window. The train began to move, and Twilight sat and faced the other way. She would be on the train for at least 2 hours, so she packed some books.
She picked one up and began to read, but a girl bounced over to her, and she sat down next to her.
"I'm Pinkie Pie!" She grinned. "What's your name?"
"Twilight." Twilight replied with a mumble, and she shuffled away as far as she could.
Pinkie Pie hopped away, introducing herself to other people. Twilight swung her legs as she read, but minutes later she felt sick again, and she knew looking down wouldn't help. She turned to look out of the window. Her reflection looked back at her, and they had an equal amount of sadness flowing through them. How would she be happy without her family for a whole year?
She opened Shining Armour's gift. It was a charm bracelt, it had a book charm, and a charm to represent each member of the family. Then she opened Spike's gift. It had a note in it, and a photo frame of Twilight, Spike, Shining Armour, Cadence, Twilight's mum and Twilight's dad. It brought a tear to Twilight's eye, but she quickly wiped it away. She read the note, ignoring how sick she felt.

"Lots of mistakes..." Twilight muttered.
She shook her head at the note. Spike knew she didn't have any friends, and he also knew that she didn't plan on making any either. She put the parcels in her suitcase, and looked out of the window again. They were passing a town, and they stopped at this station. Two girls got into the train, and sat opposite Twilight. They didn't try to socialise, to Twilight's delight.
The girl with dark pink hair in blue bobbled pigtails bounced over again.
"Hey! I'm Pinkie Pie! Oh my gosh! You have pink hair too!" She gasped, pointing to one of the girls. The other girl with light pink hair blushed, and hid behind her long hair. The other girl had rainbow hair, tied up with a blue bobbel into a pony tail. She took off her blue jacket and tie, and looked so scruffy. She didn't have a long sleeved top like the others, it was none sleeved.
"I love your hair too!" Pinkie Pie squeeled. "It's so cute!"
"Cute?" Gasped the rainbow girl. Pinkie Pie nodded.
"Oh... my..." Whispered the other pink haired girl.
"Cute?" Yelled the rainbow girl. Pinkie Pie didn't get scared, she just nodded. "I'm cool, not cute!"
"I like your hair, too." Pinkie pointed at Twilight. Twilight just muttered thanks, and turned to look out of the window again. She didn't want to socialise.
"So! I'm Pinkie Pie." Grinned Pinkie Pie.
"Rainbow Dash." Announced the rainbow girl. "And this is Fluttershy." She nodded to the light pink haired girl with the big blue eyes.
"You have blue eyes too!" Pinkie gasped. "We are sooooo alike!" Fluttershy just smiled.
"What's her name?" Asked Rainbow Dash, pointing to Twilight.
"She's Twilight." Pinkie Pie smiled.
"Twilight's a book..." Rainbow Dash said.
"Twilight Sparkle." Mumbled Twilight.
"Oooohh!" Laughed Rainbow Dash.
"What colour eyes do you have, Twilight Sparkle?" Asked Pinkie Pie.
"Purple." Twilight replied.
"My eyes are an awesome shade of pink." Rainbow Dash grinned.
Two other girls walked over, and Twilight moaned. One had a blonde pony tail with a red bobble and green eyes, and one had dark purple with light purple streaked hair and blue eyes. They all introduced themselves (Pinkie introduced Twilight and Rainbow Dash introduced Fluttershy, as she lived up to her name, and was, very shy). The blonde haired girl was called Applejack, and she had come with her little sister Applebloom, and had left her big brother, Big Mac, and her Granny, Granny Smith. The purple haired girl was called Rarity, and she had come with her little sister Sweetie Belle, and had left behind her parents. Rarity was very pretty.
Three girls hopped to the table, and Twilight sighed even more, still looking out of the window. One of the girls had light purple and pink hair, and green eyes, she was Sweetie Belle, Rarity's sister. One had red hair and orange eyes, Applebloom, Applejack's little sister. Another one had purple-pink hair and the same colour eyes, Scootaloo.
"This is my new friend, Applejack!" Applebloom grinned.
"She's my new friend too, Rarity!" Sweetie Belle smiled.
Scootaloo waved and introduced herself. The three girls ran into the other carrige, and Applejack and Rarity followed, not letting their sisters run freely, as they were trouble makers. Pinkie Pie went to the other carrige too, wanting to introduce herself to the other kids. Rainbow Dash tried to talk to Fluttershy, and Fluttershy whispered back.
"Honestly, Fluttershy! You're so quiet! You and Twilight Sparkle! I'm going to talk to the others." And with that, Rainbow Dash left, leaving Fluttershy and Twilight.
Fluttershy didn't seem to want to talk, so Twilight was happy. Twilight wondered what Starswirl Academy would be like. She was more nervous then ever.
"Have you ever been to the Academy before?" Twilight asked Fluttershy. Fluttershy shook her head and blushed bright red.
Time passed slowly, but soon enough, they arrived at the Trotport Train Station. Everyone flooded out of the train, and headed towards the school. Twilight followed the crowd, and stared at the huge school. It looked like it had 3 floors, and 5 extra buildings around.
"I'll show you around!" Smiled Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy and Twilight nodded, and so did Rainbow Dash, as she'd never been here either. Pinkie Pie showed them around for most of the day, and Twilight loved the library. It was bigger then any other library she'd ever seen. Rainbow Dash loved the gym, as it had all sorts of nets and machines, and Fluttershy just liked the relax room, where you could just sit down and relax.
Then, everyone had to go outside to hear what dorms they'd be in. Coincedently, Twilight, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity were all in the same dorm. They walked into their room, Room 13, and chose their beds. They were bunk beds, and the sheets were all the same, plaid red and blue and matching pillows. The curtians were the same too, and the carpet was white, and the walls a pale blue. The room was in an 'L' shape and a small square bathroom was attached. One bunk bed was opposite the other, and the other was opposite the bathroom door.
Rainbow Dash dibbed on the top bunk, and Fluttershy had the bed under her. They had the bed opposite the bathroom door. On the other bunk bed, Applejack had top and Pinkie had bottom, and Twilight had bottom on the other bunk bed, leaving Rarity on the top bunk. They unpacked, as there were 2 chests, with 3 drawers each.
Twilight placed the picture of her family on the chest, and sighed, wiping a tear from her eye again.
"It's okay, Twilight. I miss my family too." Fluttershy smiled. Twilight nodded and the girls went seperate ways to class. They only had one class, seeing as it was their first day, and Twilight had science, her favourite.
When they met up in their dorm again, Twilight got into her PJs and climbed into bed right away, even though it was 7.
"You must be crazy tired, Twilight." Laughed Rainbow Dash. Twilight didn't reply, she just concentrated on sleeping. Rainbow Dash just shrugged, got into joggers and hoodie, and went to the gym, Rarity read a book on Fashion, Fluttershy read a book on animals, Applejack went to see her little sister, and Pinkie Pie stayed in the room and listened to her MP3. Twilight missed her family so much, and science hadn't been as interesting as she hoped. But she fell asleep, and dreamt happily.
