What a beautiful day, Twilight thought to herself. It was indeed a beautiful day. Anypony being inside during this beautiful weather would be out of their minds, or, has a good reason to. She lifted the latch that secured her window from opening in the middle of the night and slowly opened it to get a good sniff of the beautiful day. The first scent that hit her nose was Sugar Cube Corner's delicious sweets, then, apple baked products that were sold on the corner store that was only a couple blocks away from the bakery. Everypony walked around Ponyville with a smile on their face, except Twilight. Today was not a day for smiles in her library. Today was a dark day for the princess. She closed the window and locked the latch, ever so slowly. She turned away from the window and started to make her way downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, she saw a folded note on the last step, she picked it up with her aura of magic and unfolded it. Hey Twilight, went out to help Sweetie Belle with her shopping at the market today. Be back soon. -Spike Twilight crumpled the piece of paper and threw it into a nearby trashcan, with her magic. She made her way to the front door and turned the doorknob with her aura. She walked outside to see everypony; either minding their own business, or, looking at her while walking. I better take the short way this time. I don't want anypony following me like last time. Twilight suggested to herself. Twilight's horn started to glow a purple aura. A flash of light appeared and disappeared. And so did Twilight. A flash of white appeared and disappeared. Twilight appeared but didn't disappear with the light. She looked around her surroundings to see where if she made it to her destination. She spotted a metal fenced gate that was wide open. Past the gate, a whole field of tombstones covered the green grass. This was her destination. She made it to Ponyville's cemetery. Twilight looked down at the ground to see fresh hoofprints of somepony who might have just left the cemetery not too long ago. The prints were still fresh. But they didn't go very far, instead, they stopped a couple feet behind her. "Somepony must have had the same idea as I did for traveling." She suggested to herself. She looked back up at the sign and sighed. Twilight slowly approached the open fenced gate. A deep well of sadness slipped into her mind. She started to examine the tombstones. Each tombstone had a birth to death date with their names and cutiemarks above the dates. Twilight winced as she started to read the tombstones; Derpy Hooves, Sparkler, Mayor Mare, Roseluck, Bon-Bon, Lyra Strings, Cherilee, Caramel, Thunderlane, Cloudkicker, Flitter, Cloudchaser, Noteworthy, Raindrops, Berry Punch, Carrot Top, Colgate, Granny Smith, and Big Macintosh. Twilight looked past the tombstones and saw five more that hurt her the most inside. She slowly approached the tombstones. Her legs started to feel weak, tears were starting to well up in her eyes, and her lip was starting to quiver. The five tombstones read; Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity. Each tombstone had a symbol of their cutiemarks like the other tombstones. Twilight laid down onto the spring grass. Memories of her and her friends started to creep its way into her mind. She closed her eyes as she started to remember their voices. "Hey Twi? Did you get any of the new daring do books? Please tell me you did. Because I just got done reading the latest novel and I have to talk about it with somepony." Rainbow voice echoed. A small smile crept up on Twilight's face. "Thank you so much for lending Spike to help me with my shopping today. It would have taken me forever to get it all home." Rarity's voice echoed. Tears started to slip past Twilight's eyelids. "Happy Birthday Twilight! By your favorite pink party pony: Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie Pie's cheery voice echoed. Twilight started to sniffle her nose. "Thank you so much for coming out to my tea party with my animal friends. We all appreciate it very much." Fluttershy's soft voice echoed. Tears started to stain Twilight's cheeks. "Thanks fer helping Apple Bloom out with her science project. I would've gotten nowhere with science." Applejack's southern voice echoed. Twilight lifted her head from her hooves and stared at the tombstones. A smile was plastered on her face while tears were flowing down her cheeks. "We love you Twilight!" All five cheered. "I love you too." Twilight said. "I love you girls so much." Twilight slowly lifted herself up. "I'll come back soon. Next month, to be precised." Twilight looked over at Fluttershy's tombstone. "I wouldn't wanna miss out on your birthday, Fluttershy." she wiped her eyes with one of her hooves. Trying her best not to show any trace of crying for her Ponyville citizens. "Goodbye girls. I'll see you soon." She waved a hoof goodbye and started making her way out of the cemetery. When she walked past the fenced gate, she took in a deep breath through her nose and blowing it all out of her mouth. "Let's go home." She said to herself. Her horn lit up with a purple aura. A white flash appeared and disappeared. So did Twilight. Immortality is something that every mortal wants. But what they don't see is that it's actually a curse for the immortal. ~Cameron. The End
