Max shot awake; his nightmare had made him begin to cry. He looked outside and saw the sun had reached mid way up the sky. Lucky for him he had the weekends off so this wasn’t a problem. He wiped his face with his hands and then began to remember the previous night. It was clouded but there was something that he needed to confirm. Max got out of his bed and looked to the front of his bed. There were the covers from last night. Max walked over to them and they were empty. When Max looked closer there was a cyan blue feather on the bedding. He then looked to the door that had been opened, somehow. Max walked out of this door and walked down the stairs. Down stairs there was no sound, just silence. When Max arrived downstairs he saw Rainbow Dash there with a book from his shelf. Max didn’t know what book it was but when he thought about it she does read in the series. She looked up and when she acknowledged Max’s presence she smiled. “Good morning” she said and then she went back into the book. Max watched her and then knew that this wasn’t a hallucination. It was too real to be false. Plus those men were unusual to be in black suits and come with a battalion just to tell Max about something. Anyway who transports sewage in cargo containers anyway? “So what do you eat, except for carrots” Max asked, because if she was staying then he would need to get her some more food. She looked at him and thought for a moment. Then she put a hoof to her head and continued to think. “I eat hay, cake, vegetables. It’s kind of hard to name all of it” Rainbow Dash said. Max then began to think about where he could get hay. He knew about where to get cake, the humble supermarket. Maybe there was hay there too. Max went to the window and shut the blinds. He didn’t want those men coming by his window and seeing Rainbow Dash. He turned back to Rainbow Dash and he said “I will leave the back door unlocked so you can go outside.” “Ok” Rainbow Dash simply said and then she continued to read the book that she had. Max then went and unlocked the back door. After this he put his shoes on and he grabbed his coat. He then opened the door and walked outside, locking the door when he was out. He walked down the pavement and looked back to see Rainbow Dash then fly off into the sky. Max eventually got to the super market and looked down each section in search of hay. Soon he came to the animal section and there was a bag of it. So Max picked this up and put it in his basket. Then he went to the vegetable section and began to pick some vegetables. Then all of a sudden a hand placed itself on Max’s shoulder and Max recoiled. Looking up there was the man from the previous night. “You ok son, you not experiencing any problems since last night” the man said as he examined Max’s eyes. Max was becoming suspicious of this man so it was time to bend the rules a bit. “I’m fine, nothing has gone wrong since we met” Max said. The man then flicked a mini torch into his hand and scanned it in Max’s eyes. “You’re not experiencing any hallucinations or sick symptoms are you?” the man continued. His voice was slightly droned but sometimes had a bit more effort put into the main parts of his sentences. Max took a few steps back and then blinked to regain his vision. “No, I’m fine. What’s your problem?” Max was becoming annoyed and his eye was stinging. “Why vegetables and hay, you don’t own an animal” the man said. This ticked into Max’s mind. ‘You don’t own an animal’, he would have to know Max to know that. Max then started to walk away. The man then smirked to himself and watched Max walk away. Then the man pulled a phone out of his pocket and clicked a button. “It’s him, mission extraction is a go” he spoke and then he put the phone back into his pocket and he walked away. Max had now paid for the goods and he was walking home. He looked to the sky and thought about it for a bit. Rainbow Dash could be sitting in a cloud just watching him. Then that means that anything could be up there just watching the people on the ground living their normal lives. Plus if you really think about it like that, then it becomes possible. Max came to the door of his house with a bag in hand. He placed the bag on the floor and he got his keys out of his pocket. He unlocked the door and went inside the house. After he was in he looked around the immediate area. “Hello?” Max called out. There was no reply. Max then went into the kitchen and placed the bags on the unit. Once he had done this he went upstairs and turned on his laptop. While it was loading he looked out of the window and watched the clouds. They were puffy and rounded. The shapes that they made gave them unique traits and different to anything else on the planet. Max had life take place on the ground so much he forgot about how the clouds were. His computer had then loaded and Max clicked on the news. He looked at the local news again and there was still nothing of importance. The world was so blind when something like this happened, but when small thing happens they are all over it. But that’s the world and that’s how it’s going to be for a very long time. A slight breeze came up the stairs and caught Max. A shiver went down Max’s spine but it was just the wind. Max then pressed the off button to his laptop and he went down the stairs. He got to the bottom and there was Rainbow Dash in the living room. She was a little cold as it was the middle of winter. Max thought it was about time that Rainbow knew his name. “I don’t think you know my name yet, I’m Max” Max said. Rainbow looked into Max’s eyes and then all of a sudden her stomach rumbled. Max then thought quickly and walked past Rainbow, who now was more comfortable around Max. Max got the hay out of the bag and put some of it on a plate. He then put it in front of Rainbow Dash and watched. Rainbow Dash looked at the hay for a moment, then she shrugged and took a bit of the hay. She began to crunch away. She didn’t seem to hate the hay but neither did she have any expression to say that it was delicious. But it would have to do for now. Max’s stomach then began to rumble, he hadn’t eaten this morning so it was a good idea to eat something now. He laughed to himself for a moment and then he went into the kitchen. He looked into the fridge and there was some leftover pasta from a couple of nights ago. He got this out and grabbed a fork from the cabinet. Soon he was eating away at this pasta and it too wasn’t bad, but neither was it especially tasty. But all the same it was energy waiting to be used.
