//------------------------------// // Into The Forest // Story: Gravity Foals: Book 1: Secrets of the Draconequus // by Megasis101 //------------------------------// The beams of sunlight shown on the Mystery Shack of Gravity Falls. On the top level of the shop, Dipper Pines was sitting on his bed reading a book while his twin, Mabel Pines was sitting upside down on her bed doing absolutely nothing. "Gah!" Mabel wined, "Dipper! I'm going to die of boardation!" "Mabel 'boardation' isn't a word." Dipper answered. "To me it is." she answered back. Dipper turned his attention back to his book while Mabel just sat there staring at stuff. She looked at the TV and sat up to turn it on. She grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels. "Mabel, forget it, there's nothing on TV." Dipper said, but Mabel kept on clicking. She finally paused, and squealed, then started to randomly hug the TV. Dipper put down his book and looked at his awkward sister staring at the TV very happily. "Uh, Mabel, what are you watching?" Dipper asked. She squealed again, "It's a new episode!" He looked at the TV from his bed. On the TV, some strange creature was holding a purple unicorn in his arm and started to talk to her. "Just picture it. The chaos capital of the world." He held the unicorn up for a better view. Suddenly day quickly became night and the unicorn squinted. "Well, I can't picture anything. It's too dark." The thing put the unicorn down. "Well, just wait a few minutes and you could see it in the beautiful light of day. Or not." The creature leapt into the sky and disappeared. "Ponyville, the chaos capital of the world?" She looked back at the twisted city. "Not if I have anything to say about it!" A Pegasus spoke to her in a rude manor. "Don't worry, you won't." She laughed maniacally. The unicorn threw her head down and groaned. Dipper watched the expression on Mabel's face as she was mesmerized by the television. How on earth would she be the same age as him? "I told you nothing was on." Dipper told Mabel. "Are you kidding?" Mabel said, "This is pure GOLD!" Dipper rolled his eyes. "Fine go ahead and watch your...stuff, while I get back to reading my mystery novel." Dipper got into a comfortable position on his bed. As he read he heard a strange sound on the TV. "Huh?" Mabel shouted. The colorful screen quickly turned to gray and a loud fizzing sound burst through the speakers. "Ah! What's wrong with the TV?" Dipper yelled, covering his ears. "The satellite! Come on!" Mabel yelled. She started running down the stairs. "Mabel wait! Mabel!" Dipper dropped his book on his bed and ran down the stairs after her. Dipper ran out the door as Mabel opened it. They ran outside and tried to spot the satellite dish on the roof. "Dipper, look at the satellite dish!" Mabel told him. He looked closer. "I-it's completely destroyed. What could of caused it?" Dipper stared at the broken satellite and tried to think. "Oh my gosh! Dipper look!" Dipper's eyes grew, his mouth wide open. A dark creature towered above them on the roof. It leaped to the "s" on the sign of the Mystery Shack and leaped to the ground. "Dipper! Watch out!" Mabel screamed. She pushed Dipper and the S came crashing down on the spot where he was standing. The figure ran into the forest without a trace. Mabel got on her feet and helped Dipper up. "Come on, Dipper!" Mabel said starting to run toward the forest. "Wait! Mabel! Stop!" Dipper grabbed Mabel's shoulder. "Why in Gravity Falls would you go after that thing? There's absolutely no reason!" Dipper shouted. "Dipper, that thing ruined my show! I need payback!" Mabel shouted back. "It's not worth getting payback! It's too dangerous. Come on, we're going back. We're going up there and I'm going to finish that novel." Dipper said grabbing Mabel's hand. She pulled her hand from his grip. "Dipper! Think about it! Why go and read about people solving junk when you could go solve the junk yourself?" "Mabel..." Dipper started. Mabel cut him off. "You know what? I'm going to find that thing myself!" Mabel started running to the woods. "Mabel! Mabel! Wait! Stop!" Dipper started running after her. "Please, Mabel!" Dipper approached the woods. He took a deep breath and took a step forward. He ran to try to catch up. He ran into a few twigs and saw Mabel running up ahead. The forest got darker and darker. After a while Dipper saw light ahead and a clear opening. He saw Mabel come through the opening and Dipper came through after her. He paused for a little to catch his breath. He looked up and saw Mabel. "Mabel!" Dipper yelled. "Don't run off like that!" Mabel didn't say any thing. She just stood there. "Mabel?" Dipper said, walking up to her. He saw her face. Her mouth was wide open. Her eyes were huge. Dipper looked in the direction Mabel zoned out to. Then his expression also changed. The creature was sitting on a rock and stared at them. The red, beaming eyes glared right into Dipper's soul. It slowly stood up. Its shadow got bigger and bigger. The twins started backing away. Dipper tripped over Mabel and they both fell down onto the forest floor overwhelmed. The creature towered above them. They where terrified. The figure leaped off the rock. It lifted its great big head and laughed triumphantly, lightning flashing. The creature stopped laughing and the area became brighter. The two sat in fright. The creature glared at them. The creature had a snake tail, a lion paw, a eagle claw, a lizard leg, a goat leg, a bird wing, a bat wing, a narwhal horn, an antler and a great big horse head! The great creature smiled at the two. The forest was silent for a moment. Finally Mabel spoke. "D-D-D-DISCORD?!" Dipper was confused. "W-what? Y-you KNOW this guy?" The creature laughed again. "I take it that you know me from some where." It said in a strong, deep voice. In a bright flash he disappeared. "I guess I'm a little famous." The voice came behind them. They turned around. It was very close behind them. "Ah!" They screamed. They tried to struggle to back away from him. "Tell me..." The thing disappeared again. It reappeared close to Mabel. "...who else knows about me?" Mabel lowered her eyebrows. "What do you WANT, Discord?" The creature paused. "What do I want? What do I want?" The creature disappeared then reappeared back on the rock. "I want the freedom to be ME! That's what I want!" "Get to the point, goat!" Mabel yelled. Discord lowered his eyebrows. He disappeared then reappeared back on the ground, pretty close to Dipper. "I was just wondering if you two have seen... I don't know, a Chrystal a GEM... Maybe... About as big as your shoe or something. A....Ruby.. A bright, red, ruby?" Discord threw his elbow around Dippers neck. "Well DO you?" Dipper shoved the creatures arm off his neck and shook his head. Discord looked at Mabel and she also shook it. Discord hesitated. "Well then... I guess there's no use for YOU then is there?" Dipper and Mabel started backing away as he got madder. "I mean you know me for some reason, you called me a GOAT, you haven't even seen the gem!?" He got furious. Dipper and Mabel where scared. "Well it looks like this ends our conversation. Goodbye!" The twins were shocked as they were lifted off the ground. Before they knew it, they were flung over the trees. The twins both screamed at the same time. Hey crashed right in front of the Mystery Shack. They got up slowly. Dipper rubbed his head as he got up. "Aw! Gosh! What was that?" He asked. "He's Discord! The king of chaos." Mabel answered. "He was from My Little Pony. The show I was watching. Until SOME body got all up in my business." "What was that gem he wanted do you know?" Dipper asked. "Actually, no! The show had NOTHING about Discord trying to get a ruby." She answered, "Why?" "Because I'm going to find out why. Come on!" Mabel followed Dipper into the Mystery Shack.
