Chapter 7: The End of Voldermare
The next day Twilight walked into the throne room, and saw Medley and Firefly talking with Shooting Star.
Twilight asked “what is going on here?”
Shooting Star Said “we are doing a guards and maids exchange with Canterlot”
Twilight asked “Why wasn’t I informed?”
Shooting star answered “because it is something that just got decided this morning.”
Twilight said “you know we should discuss things like this. We are be Co-ruling this place.”
Shooting Star said “I didn’t want to wake you. You looked so happy asleep. By the way do you know you, you talk and use magic in your sleep.
Twilight blushed “spike told me that. Ok what have you decided?”
Shooting Star smiled “I decided to leave it up to those two to make a list for us to look over.”
Twilight sighed and said “so you’re pawning it off on them to decide.”
Shooting Star smile “you could look at it what way. Or you could look at it as I trust them, and feel they know their ponies better than I do. And so they would make the best decision. We don’t have time to decide everything that goes on in our land, so we need to trust the ones under us to decide what is best in their sphere of responsibility. But everything that happens here are our fault so we will look over the list before sending it. I don’t think your maid spic and span or your daughter’s maid nurse’s corners would be part of the exchange. ”
Twilight said “I not worry about Spin and Span going on the exchange. But that isn’t why I came in there to talk with you. I was looking in a magic book late last night and I find something I think it would fix one of our problems.”
“I would like to see this” Shooting Star said.
Twilight and Shooting Star walked to the library. Twilight opened an old heavy Magic book. “From what the book said there was once ring of transportation system from here to the crystal empire. I don’t see why there couldn’t be one from here to Canterlot also. That way we could travel back and forth from there.”
Shooting star said “That is a good idea; I know Rarity for one would love to be able to trade her goods with Canterlot again. And it looks like any Unicorn can open it with the right spell, so we could also have tourism too. Let talk it over with Celestia, Luna and Cadence.
Day 7 start with Celestia, Luna, Shining Armor, and Cadence Coming with a group of important Ponies for the Moon Festival. After greeting them Twilight went to a window that looked out on the city. She was checking up on the Fair that was going on in the City.
Cadence walked up and put her wing over Twilight. “Are you alright?
“Cadence, I don’t know if it is a good idea to have a fair with what will happen today” Twilight confided to Cadence
Cadence smiled “Twilight, this isn’t the first time you had a fair with evil knocking at the door.”
Twilight smiled “yeah, but this time I am in charge. I am responsible if anything goes wrong.”
“Twilight, are you saying if things didn’t work out back then you would abandoned me?” Cadence teased.
Twilight moved from under Cadence’s wing and looked her in the eyes “no, no I wouldn’t do anything like that. You are my Cadence; I would go to the pits of Tartarus for you.”
Cadence Smiled and moved around so she was standing next to Twilight. While she put her wing back over Twilight she said “I know that, so this time isn’t any different than back them.”
Twilight lay her head on Cadence’s shoulder and think how she is grateful that her old foal sitter is here.
Cadence looked around and asked “Where is Nyx?”
Twilight smiled “Nyx is playing in the fair with her friends.”
“How nice, but I wanted to spend some time with her.” Cadence said
Twilight smiled knowing how much Cadence like Nyx. Nyx is her favorite Niece. “Well, I am sure she will find time to play with you. She loves spending time with you.”
Cadence nodded “of course.” She lifted her wing off Twilight and looked at all the other ponies “should we get going.”
Twilight nodded “the sooner we start the sooner we finish.”
They walked over to the rest of the ponies. The rest of the day Twilight and Shooting Star played host and hostess to their guests.
As the night got close to midnight Shooting Star gathered his forces. “It is all ready now, you five should get ready.”
Rainbow dash said “Twilight? Get ready for what?”
Twilight put on a cheesy smile she knew her friends won’t like this, and that might be the reason she hasn’t told them until now. “Well, to use the Elements of Harmony, after me and shooting star release a great Evil by doing the ritual of the ruler ship.”
Rarity grabbed Twilight “you are going to release a great evil…. why?”
Twilight said “If we don’t we could never go back to Equestria.”
Fluttershy said in a soft voice “I wouldn’t mind staying here if it means you’re safe.”
Twilight assured her friends. “Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Shining Armor and Shooting star will protect us. So we will be safe. And I am not just doing this just for us but for all the ponies that live here in this land.”
Rarity Said “We understand now that you thought it through and you will do it if we like it or not. I just wish I could make you a dress for this ritual of the ruler ship thing.”
AJ put her hove on Twilight’s Shoulder. “Sugar cube, just tell us what to do.”
All her friends smiled and nodded. Twilight ran to her friend and hugged them.
Shooting Star said “I hate to break up this love fest, but it’s time for us to get started”
They stood in front of a Dark glowing boulder; each different pony leader pledge their loyalty to Twilight and Shooting star. Then Twilight and shooting star pledge to rule fairly. As they finish a dark Shadow come from the boulder and took the form of a young Unicorn mare.
Voldermare glared to Shooting Star and Twilight “you foolish ponies, you think you can take this land from me.” Voldermare lite her horn and dark Clouds rolled in. “you will have to defeat me to have this land, and I cannot be defeated that easy; as the last pony found out. “
Shooting star smile, Raise his Wings a lit his horn. “She tried it alone but we are together in this one. You’re no match for all of us.”
Voldermare ran at straight at Shooting star and Twilight. “Then I will have to take you down one by one.” Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and Shining Armor used their power to hold her, and then the six Friend use the Elements of Harmony against the Voldermare. A rainbow snaked toward Voldermare; she fought to get free as it came closer. As it hit her a bright light illuminated the city square. All you can hear is the screams of a pony in pain. As the light faded all that was left of the once evil pony was a small Crystal that Shooting Star picked it up. All the ponies cheered, well all but Luna. She walked off to get some air. She remembers the pain of getting turned back to herself. And she didn’t wish it on any pony Evil or not. But it had to be done.
Celestia walked up and put her wing over his sister and said “Luna, you can cry if you want.”
Luna looked over with tears in her eyes and said “no, I cannot. I have to be strong like you and Shooting Star.”
“I Cry sometimes. Like when I was force to seal you on the moon. Strength isn’t about not crying; it is about what you do after you stop crying.” Celestia said.
Luna laid her head against Celestia and cried.
Cadence and Shining were talking when Cadence felt a small hove on her leg. She looked back and saw Nyx. “That was so Cool what you guys did!”
Cadence scolded Nyx “you know you shouldn’t be here. It isn’t safe.”
“I was worried about you and my mom.” Nyx said looking at her hooves.
Cadence knew she couldn’t stay mad at Nyx. “I guess it is fine now, but you better not do something like this again.” Cadence thought this is perfect “Nyx I am free now, do you want to play around at the Fair with me?”
Nyx smiled she haven’t played with Cadence ever. Every time she saw Cadence she was busy with royal business. “You mean it. We can play together!”
Cadence smiled she didn’t think Nyx would be this excited. “Yes, I mean it.”
Nyx bounced “ok there are so many places I would like to show you.”
Shining Armor asked “should I come?”
Nyx frowned. Cadence said “this is going to be girl time with my favorite Niece.”
Shining Armor felt all alone. Twilight went to get ice cream with Shooting Star, Celestia and Luna went to look around the Fair and Cadence left with Nyx. He had no one to go around the fair with so he went back to the castle. When Cadence came back to the castle she found Shining Armor passed out in the dining hall with pie on his face and he was lying next to a stack of pie plates.
Later that night the Moon was in the middle of the sky and the streets of the city glowed as the moons power flowed to the Boulder. When the light faded and the Boulder shined brightly, Luna stood in front of all the ponies and proclaimed “the Moon have given its power to us.” There was a cheer from all over the City.
Celestia, Cadence and Shining Armor had business back home so went back to their Castles, while Luna stayed the night.
