//------------------------------// // Chapter 1: Explanation // Story: Rainy Day // by Grape Crush //------------------------------// "Here it goes," Rainbow Dash said. "Pinkie are you there?" She said softly. "No! Go away," Pinkie Pie said. Even though she knew Rainbow would come in anyway. "Pinkie I want to talk to you," Rainbow Dash said. "What do you want to talk about?" She replied. "I want to apologize for not being able to clear the rain before you had to cancel your party," Rainbow said. "I don't want to talk about that right now," Pinkie said. "Please Pinkie?" Rainbow said. Rainbow cursed herself for not being able to tell Pinkie that she wanted to talk about something else as well. She however could not bring herself to tell Pinkie. "If only Pinkie would open the door so I can explain more," Rainbow thought. "If you wanted to talk about something else as well, I would be happy to open the door for you," Pinkie said. Rainbow Dash blushed as she understood that Pinkie knew that Dash wasn't just here to say sorry. "Pinkie I-I wanted to say that... I-I love... YOUR PARTIES!" Rainbow blurted. Cursing herself for not being able to say what she wanted. She began to think that Pinkie didn't believe where this was going until she opened the door. "Pinkie what happened to your hair?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie stared at her in disgust. "I was crying for hours and had no time to freshen up," Pinkie said in disgust. "Oh Pinkie I-I didn't mean to upset you..." Rainbow started to say. Pinkie put her hoof to Rainbow's mouth. Rainbow Dash stopped saying what she was going to say. "Now," Pinkie said, "What do you love about my parties?" Rainbow Dash's face reddened when she said that. She had no time to come up with a liable excuse. "I love that you have so many decorations," Rainbow said. "I do don't I?" Pinkie replied. "A-and that you talk to everypony like they are your best friend," Rainbow continued. Pinkie shook her head, not understanding why Dash won't simply tell her why she is truly there. "Dash tell me why you are truly here," Pinkie finally said. Dash's face reddened and she finally thought that telling the truth was her best choice. She is the Element of Loyalty, so why not tell Pinkie the truth? She thought about this over and over again and finally decided that she was going to tell her the truth. "Pinkie lets go inside I need to tell you something," Rainbow Dash said. Pinkie moved to the side and let Rainbow Dash pass through. Looking at her curiously. Dash sat on Pinkie's couch and patted the other part for Pinkie to sit down. Pinkie sighed and sat down. "Pinkie I've been meaning to tell you that I..." Dash couldn't bring herself to continue. Pinkie stared at her and Dash winced. "I-I love you Pinkie," Dash closed her eyes and waited for Pinkie to yell at her to get out... Or worse. A few seconds ticked by and Dash opened her eyes only to see that Pinkie had a happy expression on her face. "Dashie," She said softly, "I love you too." She giggled softly. Dash relaxed a bit knowing that Pinkie had the same feelings she had. Pinkie felt that Dash was still very sad. So she closed her eyes and leaned in to give Rainbow Dash a kiss. Rainbow wasn't caught off guard but she was a little scared. She figured this was her only chance so she returned the favor. Rainbow Dash gasped for air when she was awaken by her dream. Knowing all had happened except she never said sorry to Pinkie. "I only wish I had I had the guts to tell Pinkie I loved her," she trailed off sadly.
