//------------------------------// // Prologue: Sleeping In // Story: Through a Filter // by Omegapony //------------------------------// "Rainbow Dash! Can't you just come in through the door like a regular pony?" said Twilight in a frustrated tone as Rainbow Dash made a unique entrance into her residence. "Sorry Twi, some random winds blew me off course." responded Rainbow Dash rubbing her head. Equestria had been experiencing some weird weather the past month. Weather teams were surprised when they found that they couldn't dissipate the clouds. Equestrian meteorologists speculated that an undocumented type of storm was blowing in. "It's alright, also have you heard about that weird storm? I heard from some ponies that the storm is nearing Ponyville." said Twilight using her magic to fix up the window. "Yeah, I have, it is pretty weird. I heard that a weather pony flew up into the storm to try and clean it up but his wings froze up and he fell about 100 ft before being caught by his friends!" said Rainbow Dash excitedly. "Seems a bit dangerous. Anyways, I was just making some hot chocolate. Would you care for some?" asked Twilight trotting into the kitchen. "Sure would." said Rainbow Dash standing up and shaking off the cold. The two talked for a while about their friends and common matters while sharing a cup of cocoa before hearing thunder in the distance and switched to talking about the storm. Spike finally finished organizing the books on the shelves and started to head up. "Good night guys." said Spike with a yawn. "Good night." said Twilight and Rainbow at the same time. "Well, that storm is nearing and I'd rather not try and fall asleep with thunder crashing outside. I don't think you should fly back home, how about you stay here for the night?" said Twilight deciding it was late enough to fall asleep. "Yeah, I guess not." said Rainbow and the two went to get the usual sleep over gear. "Night Twi." said Rainbow wrapping herself in a blanket. "Good night Rainbow." said Twilight as she blew the candles out. Outside the storm got nearer and as it cast its shadow over the town a sudden downpour opened up.
