Magic, Spirits, and Fights oh my
Silver was walking the streets of Canterlot, Trixie right next to him. The annual Equestria-Wide merchant gathering was upon Canterlot, meaning a lot of goods that were hard to find anywhere else were now there for purchase. Trixie was looking for something that seemed to fit her, something that called to her. Silver was there to see if something of interest caught his eye, and to carry anything too heavy.
The many hooves clicking on cobblestone as the ponies around them walked was clearly heard. The voices of excitement from adults and foals alike were heard, as well as the exchange of bits. Many ponies were here, a good number were collectors looking for their next big item to add to their stockpile.
“Lot of Ponies here today.” Silver said as he looked around at all of them.
“Yes there are.” Trixie said before sighing, “I just hope we find something before somepony else buys it.”
“Don’t worry, we will.” He said as they walked. Within a few minutes Trixie saw a store that was off to the side and a little shady, due to the fact it was literally shaded by a nearby building. She trotted over there, Silver right behind her. Once inside a stallion that seemed a little pale in fur color with some gray hair greeted them.
“Welcome patrons! Take a look around, tell me what ya like.” He said, watching as Trixie looked around with interest, they were in a magic shop. Many different trinkets and books lined his inventory, all dealing with magic. There were some things detailing kinds of magic that little fillies won’t learn till they’re old enough, but I digress, there were many things.
“Oooh, what’s this?” Trixie asked, noticing a black amulet with a red gemstone in the center. The amulet resembling an alicorn somewhat.
“That is the Alicorn Amulet, it has the power to make one as great as an Alicorn” he explained, “it’s not for sale” he then added when he saw the look in her eyes.
Trixie felt something, looking at the amulet. Her insides flared up, her body tingled. Something in her wanted it, and it wanted it badly. The shopkeeper noticed something in the center of Trixie’s pupils, a flash of red that faded as soon as it appeared.
Silver’s ears perked when he heard something outside, it sounded like a fight over a collectable. “Aw man…” Silver said before heading outside to break it up. Trixie smirked before laying a huge bag of bits on the counter.
“Would you like that gift wrapped?” he asked, she smiled more, placing it around her neck once the transaction was complete. That very moment caused her eyes to turn red; something wasn’t right about that amulet.
Silver, having broken up a fight between two stallions over a girl’s toy due to the fact they were collecting it for whatever reason, turned and saw Trixie approaching him. She was wearing that amulet and her eyes and demeanor were different.
“Come on Silver, we’re heading back to Ponyville” she said before using her magic to teleport them both back to Ponyville.
Twilight was reading a book, enjoying the summertime air while doing something she enjoyed. This ended however when Rainbow Dash tackled her off the bench.
“Twilight, we have a problem!” she said frantically.
“Calm down Dash” she said. “What happened?”
“It’s Trixie, she’s acting all weird, she wants you and Shadow to meet her in the town square.” Dash said before helping her up and flying off. Twilight used her magic to teleport there, seeing that Shadow was already there waiting. She turned and gasped, Trixie’s eyes were red and her body had red markings from where the amulet was touching her.
“Sparkle…Shadow…” she began, “You two will pay dearly for what you did to me” she said.
“Huh? Trixie, what’s gotten into you?” Twilight asked before she began to sense something, Chaos Energy.
“She was never fully cleansed of her corruption” Shadow said “My guess is that amulet sparked it to rise back up, now it’s fueling it and warping her mind”
“Yes, the alicorn amulet puts my magic on par with that of an Alicorn” she said, grinning. Blaze was there too, along with the other friends who gathered thanks to Rainbow telling everyone.
“Why go after them? I’m the one that finished you off back then” Blaze said.
“Please, a weakling like you only got lucky, since these two weakened me before you showed up” she said. Blaze was none too happy, already covered in fire before dashing forward.
“Let’s see if you can back that up!” she said, before conjuring a whip of fire and cracking it against Trixie’s eye. Trixie laughed, her magic having deflected it before it could make contact.
“Too bad, the cat bit off more than she could chew” she said before using her magic to freeze Blaze solid before tossing her aside. “Now for the main event” she said, turning in time to get hit by a chaos spear, shrieking in surprise and pain as it made contact.
“Stop this, I don’t want to hurt you” Shadow said.
“Too late furball!” she shouted as she conjured one thousand Chaos Spears laced with red crackling magic. “Destructive Rain!” she said unleashing the attack. Twilight acted fast and shielded their group from the attack, her magic shattering just as the last one hit.
“Not bad Sparkle, but I’m on a level you can’t even hope to touch” she said before grabbing them both with her magic and tossing them out of Ponyville before sealing it off, even casting some runic magic to prevent them from teleporting in.
“So sorry to tell you this, but you’re both banished. Until you can attempt to face me” she said with a laugh.
“You know that’s not very nice” a voice said before a green appendage slugged Trixie, the appendage belonging to Jet. Trixie jumped back after recovering from the hit.
“You think you can take me?” she challenged.
“I don’t think, I know” he said before holding up his arm with the brace on it. “Un-gravitify!” he shouted as gravity vanished around him, before he propelled himself forward, slamming into her with a force he wouldn’t be able to replicate with gravity on. He followed up with another strike, slamming her into the ground before the gravity returned and he stood there, sweating profusely and panting.
“Not bad” Trixie said as she stood. Her sclera completely red, her irises now their original color, she looked no different than her previous corruption self from way back when. “My turn” she said, charging up her magic just before something big and gray slammed right her from above, his brace on his wrist crackling.
“Not so fast you moron!” Storm shouted as he held her down, the surprise enough for him to keep her restrained.
“Get off of me!” she shouted before unleashing a pulse of magic that sent him flying before before a purple blur slammed into her side, then the other, back and forth until Trixie managed to catch Wave with her magic and toss her into a charging Jet, knocking them both down.
“You’re all getting annoying” she said.
Outside the barrier
“Now what?” Twilight asked, distraught.
“No idea, anypony you know that might be of some help?” Shadow asked.
“We could ask Zecora, she might have a way to get rid of that amulet” she said, Shadow nodded going with her to Zecora’s home.
“Zecora!” Twilight said as she knocked on the door.
“Ah Shadow and Twilight, is everything alright?” she asked, noticing the look on Twilight’s face.
“No, Trixie has an alicorn amulet, it made her go crazy” she said.
“Then follow me, I will teach you what you need” she said, “Dear brother of mine, help the other one if you’d be so kind” she said before leaving with Twilight.
“’ow’s it going mate? Name’s Zephyr, and I’m gonna ‘elp ya” he said to Shadow.
“It beats just sitting here” Shadow said.
“True that, now come on, we got work to do” Zephyr said, leading Shadow to a spot to train him.
For the next hour, Twilight was trained to focus her magic on simple tasks and blocking out complexity. Like keeping herself balanced while levitating rocks and magically keeping herself on the surface of water to improve her focus. Shadow was training in hand to hand, and how to more properly analyze an opponent.
“I can’t take it!” Twilight shouted, completely drenched in water. “While we’re here, Trixie is probably hurting our friends!” she said, frustrated.
“Very well Twilight, take this and everything will be alright” she said, handing her a mystical looking amulet.
“Zecora, that’s just a rock, I don’t sense any magic” she said
“Trixie doesn’t know that, the rabbit you’ll pull out of your hat” she said, indicating the stone. Twilight smiled, understanding the best way to free Trixie is to trick her to remove the Alicorn amulet.
“Thank you Zecora” she said, giving her a hug. Zecora hugged her back, smiling. Twilight and Shadow headed back to the barrier at full speed, knowing they were running out of time.
Back in Ponyville
“How sad, you all can’t hope to touch me” she said, her fur now completely red, her mane and tail pink. Her eyes completely red with faded black pupils, the blood vessels black as night in her eyes. Silver stood in front of her at that point, staring her down.
“Trixie, you’ve got to stop this!” he said before dodging a magic bolt, red crackling with black electricity as it flew past him.
“You don’t tell me what to do Silver” She said, grinning evilly at him.
“Fine…then you leave me no choice” he said.
“What can you do?” she asked, firing another bolt at him only to see him catch it with his Psychokinesis.
“This” he said before tossing it back at her, watching it fly like a bullet and slam into her. She shrieked in pain as it sent her flying back. Silver felt really torn, he was fighting a mare he loved, yet he found himself being the greatest source of pain to her, how ironic.
Trixie stood up and glared at him, livid as all hell. Silver stood ready, catching three more of those attacks that she sent at him before making them spin around each other, making a more powerful counterattack.
“I’m sorry…” he said, preparing to fire it before Shadow appeared and stopped him.
“That’s enough Silver” he said, Silver firing the attack somewhere else, hitting the barrier and watching them explode.
“How did you get back in?” she asked, shocked.
“This” Twilight said, indicating the green stone around her neck.
“What is that?”
“The Mystic Amulet” she said, “It has far more power than your puny alicorn amulet” she said, before demonstrating various spells that a simple unicorn couldn’t do, yet she did them with ease.
“I like this…” she said starting to remove the amulet before Shadow grabbed it and used his power to channel all the Corruption and store it in the amulet. Trixie fell, all her spells dismissing themselves as she was completely cleansed of her corruption, for good this time. The amulet gaining red marks on the black part. Shadow then set it down, so it wouldn’t try anything.
“What happened?” Trixie asked, her mind a haze. “I remember seeing something at a store…and then” she gasped when she saw it, as well as the injured friends lying around. “did I do this?”
“Yes, though the corruption in your system is gone, stored in that amulet” he said. Trixie saw Silver before getting up and going over to him.
“Oh Silver! I’m so sorry!” she said, crying.
“Hey hey, no serious harm was done” he said, comforting her. “It’s okay” he added, holding her. For the next few minutes Trixie apologized profusely to those she hurt.
Twilight used her magic to send the amulet away. “there, now it’s in the one place it will never be found” she said, the amulet clanking onto the ground at the palace of the royal sisters, deep in the Everfree.
Griffon Kingdom
“Your final test is that of spirit.” Wulok said as they approached a chamber. “Inside of here you will enter a sleep and fight with your very soul, your very existence to prove you are strong in spirit.” He added. “Four guardians will challenge your souls, should you best them all, you will pass” he said.
Metal Sonic nodded, “very well, let’s get this over with” he said as he hopped off of Gilda’s back.
“Be careful” She said to him and Mephiles as they entered the chamber.
“we will” Metal said as the door shut and they both found this strange altar.
“Time for some shut eye” Mephiles said, going in front of it with metal. The two of them finding themselves in a new place, it was warpy and very strange.
“Welcome hatchlings” a spirit said, 4 of them descending. One glowing with the light of fire, one as whispy as the wind, one strong as earth, the last one flowing like water. “Shall we begin?” the earth one asked.
“Yes” Metal Sonic said before the floor became segmented, lava all around them, only a few pieces of the floor actually remained.
“First to fall in loses” the fiery one said, “I am Volcanus, Spirit of Fire” he said before going after them. They both dodged, Metal charging in from the right and Mephiles from the left. Volcanus dodged them by going up, the two slamming into one another.
“They always fall for that…” Volcanus said before looking down in surprise. Metal began to shift and change, becoming taller and more intimidating.
“Finally” he said, now in Neo form. Mephiles on the other hand now looked like Chrysalis, “seems we needed a good hit to get the ball rolling” he said, or rather she said.
“That’s what you used to look like?” Metal asked her.
“My soul is the same, despite the fact my body and mind aren’t” she said.
Metal held out his hand and blasted Volcanus with a laser before Chrysalis turned into a Minotaur and jumped up before slamming him into the lava. The ground soon turned to normal before peaks and valleys formed, the one of earth landing in front of them.
“I’m Terra, Spirit of Earth” he said before making the ground under Metal and Chrysalis shift, making them lose their footing before they were slammed by the griffon spirit, his weight incredible as he held them down. “Win condition? Pin me for 3 seconds” he said.
“Black shield” Metal said, before his onyx shield appeared and pushed Terra off of them before they stood back up. Chrysalis grinned before firing several dark attacks, similar to what Mephiles could do.
Terra dodged them before coming into contact with a punch from Metal, followed by a rocket. Terra recovered and dodged it at the last second, the explosion propelling him into Metal Sonic. The griffon tackled him to the ground before kicking up a stone and launching it at Chrysalis to disable her for the time being.
“Come now, you’ve got to try better than that” he said before little creatures that looked like Mephiles swarmed him and lifted him off Metal before pinning the griffon down. Chrysalis’s eyes had this pinkish hue to the sclera while her irises were still green. It was a very disturbing sight. her eyes returned to normal after three seconds passed and the ground was soon replaced by shallow water.
“I am Aqua, spirit of Water” she said before sending a wave at them, knocking them down. “knock me down to win” she said, before she began to surf upon the surface, firing water bullets at them.
“Of course…” Metal said.
“It’s never going to be easy is it?” Chrysalis asked.
“Apparently not” he said before a whip of water grabbed them both before tossing them high where a barrage of water bullets struck them. Metal was sparking a bit, since the water was messing with his circuits. Chrysalis recovered and was doing her best to knock her off balance to no avail, she seemed unshakable from atop the water. Metal then got an idea as he saw some of his electricity spark around his fingers. He landed in the water before opening his chassis and lying down in the water. Immediately it was electrified and Aqua’s body went stiff before falling over. The water disappeared and Metal stood up, his chassis closing again.
“Smart thinking” Chrysalis said before they were both taken to the sky, wind all around them.
“I’m Ventus, Spirit of Air.” He said, before conjuring a whirlwind. “If you can ground me, you win” he said. Chrysalis changing into a Griffon to better suit herself for aerial combat.
Metal dodged the whirlwind before firing a laser at Ventus, managing to clip a wing. Yet the Griffon remained in the air. “Not that easy to knock me down” he said before being tackled, he resisted it, managing to stop her from grounding him before Metal joined in, successfully tackling the griffon.
Soon the two of them woke up, hearing the griffons utter “Congratulations” Mephiles and Metal would both have smiles if they had mouths. Soon the doors opened and Gilda glomped them both.
“You guys did it!” she said happily.
“Indeed, you are now honorary brethren here, Metal and Mephiles. Welcome to the flock” Wulok said.
“Thank you” Mephiles said, Metal nodding in agreement.
//Now I have my army, time to get those emeralds.// Metal thought as he looked toward his own hand and envisioned defeating Sonic for good. //Soon Sonic, soon//
