In Celebration of a Hundred.

29."No matter how hard you try, you'll never be like he was"

Mac’s heart was stuck in his throat as he watched his baby sister run off in tears, sparing a glance to the Orange mare beside him who was trying not to cry.

Applebloom was right, it didn’t matter how hard they tried, her parents couldn’t be replaced. Hearing her say it hurt something fierce, but he couldn’t blame her, he had thrown the same tantrum against granny. And now she too was gone.

So when she came down for supper he hugged her tightly, swooping up Applejack in the process.

They might not be her parents, but they were still family.
