//------------------------------// // The Return // Story: Luna I'm Here // by JosephRascon1789 //------------------------------// Damn! That! Blue! Box! Why doesn't it ever stop for me! The stupid thing nearly hit me last time, but it hasn't stopped yet. I heaved a heavy sigh and shook my head. Almost a thousands years to the date and I want to go back to see my Luna again. The cool ocean air was blowing my mane to the east as I watched the sky for the blue box. I could almost read what it said on the top the last time it flew by. That and the fact that the dumb thing busted my home I created out of wood hasn't helped how I see the stupid thing. I'm sure next time the box will stop, then I can go to Equestria. Unless the thing inside the box isn't friendly and tries to kill me. The thought sent a chill up my spine and I tried to calm down. I have to be strong. I know I will make it back. My love is still waiting for me. The sound that the box makes was approaching. I saw the boxes light in the distance and this time it was skidding against the field. I took a couple steps back and waited for it. It was slowing down and it started to make louder noise. Finally it came to a smooth stop right in front of me. There was a loud boom and the box officially became solid. The box was much bigger than me and I finally read what it said at the top. "Police Box? What's that?" I asked aloud. I knocked on the door with my hoof and waited for a response. The box did nothing, nor did the being inside. "I've had it! I didn't wait all this time and use every bit of my magic to get in contact with this thing just so it could sit in front of me." I yelled to the open air. I used my magic and surrounded the box in a aura. I was looking for a lock or a door of some sort. Finally my magic pin pointed the lock and I trotted to the other side to see it. It was just some standard key lock. "Somepony or something created a flying box with a standard house key lock?... Seems like a waste." I said. "I have got to learn to stop talking to myself." My magic slipped inside and I started picking the lock. Suddenly, without my magic, the door unlocked and opened. I carefully pushed the door open and popped my head inside. I was in awe of how big it was inside. I actually had to step back outside and trot around it to make sure it was the same box and not some trick. Finally I popped my head back inside. There was a strange orange light making everything visible. There was two stair cases leading to a weird table looking thing. Behind and to the left of the table looking thing, was two more stair cases. I couldn't see where they lead. I pushed my way inside and quietly closed the door behind me. Slowly, I trotted to the stair case and looked around. The center table thing was supported by a glass floor and I could trot straight up to it. I kept my head low and I took off the black metal hoof protectors. I don't want to seem like a invader. I took off all my black armor and set it next to the door. I went back to the bottom of the small stair case and took one last look around. Finally I went up and looked at the big table in the middle Wow it looks like it's made of a bunch of junk. I thought as I slowly trotted around the round table. "What?" Something said from behind me. I jumped and turned around. There was a weird creature looking at me. I got low to the ground an waited for the creature to make a move. "Aww poor little fellow. Did you get lost in here? I must have landed and unlocked the door by accident." The weird creature spoke in a soft tone, but he had a strange accent. "Wait .... No...... It can't be... Your a unicorn!" The creature said as it stumbled down the stairs. I took a couple steps back and watched at the creature advanced. It trotted on it's hind legs and had a strange color coat of fur. I had to look up to meet it's gaze. "Ello little fella. I'm the Doctor. Now lets see where you come from." He turned back to look at his table. The creature pulled a strange looking box to his face. "That's impossible." It said then looked back at me. "You can't exist. there's nothing out there..... Oh it's not like you understand. Your just a horse thing." "Hold on there is a whole world out there. And for you information I'm a pony stallion." I said with out thinking. The creature stopped and looked at me. It's eyes went wide and it stood still just looking at me. "In all my travels I never met a talking unicorn. I met a unicorn once but nothing like you." The creature said while looking down at his table thing. "Now you say there is a whole world out there, but out there is the void of space and time. Nothing can exist in the void." "I've been here for a thousand years and I think I would know if there was nothing there." I replied. "Thousand years? That's..... Well I'm about the same age now so I can't say it's impossible." The thing said as he looked at the door. "If you want to see it's just behind that door." I said smugly. "Well I guess I could have a pe- OW!" The creature fell to the floor and curled up. "Are you okay?" I asked as I came to its side. He rolled over and laid on the floor. "I got so caught up in meeting you that I forgot it's almost time for me to leave." "What do you mean? You can't leave! I don't know what to do." It smiled and coughed. "Don't worry. My people have a special ability to save us from death. You might want to stand back." The creature started to glow and a strange aura started to come from his body. The energy started flowing on me and I jumped back. The energy sent a blast that knocked me on to my back. The creature started screaming as the weird energy flowed out of it's body. After about thirty seconds of screaming and blinding light the room became quite and the orange glow was the only thing lighting up the room. I got up and looked to where the creature was last at. There was a pile of cloth and a lump in the middle. "Hey are you okay?" I asked while inching closer. "Ugh my head. Wait... Why can't I see anything. Oh no! I was regenerated with out eyes this time!" The Doctor yelled from inside the stack of cloths. I used my magic and removed the cloth. When it was gone a brown earth pony was looking around confused. He had dark brown mane the look spiked and a medium sized spikey tail. He turned and looked at me confused and scared. He had light blue eyes and an hour glass cutie mark. "What are you looking at?" He asked. I said nothing and just waited for him to explain why he became a pony. He tried standing on his hind legs and instantly fell down. "Why do I feel so unstable. I regenerated just fi-...." The Doctor looked at a mirror. He raised his fore legs to his face and looked back at his hooves. "How is this possible? This shouldn't have hap-.... Did you feel something when I regenerated? Where you holding me?" He asked. "Yes. When you were regenerating I felt a weird sensation in my hooves and I jumped away." I whispered. His eyes went wide and he smiled. "Oh that is brilliant! I can't believe it works like that. Well lets see what I got this time." He began examining his body in the mirror. "STILL NOT GINGER!" He yelled. After shaking his hoof in the air and calming down he started taking a liking to his new body. "Well It could have been much worse..... I think. Hey could this have been worse?" He asked I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The creature had changed his whole body to a ponies body and he just continues, like nothing happened. "Hey little unicorn? Do I look bad?" He asked again. "What. Oh sorry. No it could have been much worse. You could have been a pink stallion with no mane. Or you could have been a short chubby little colt. So the fact that you are a slim normal sized male pony with a brown coat and dark brown mane is great." "Ah good. Okay now you were talking about the void being a whole world?" He asked as he tried to move on his hind legs. "Yes and you might want to try being on all four of your hooves." I said. He looked down and placed his fore hooves on the ground. "That actually feels better. Now lets take a look outside. I'm going to call your bluff." ---------------- "I can not believe that... There has never been anything out there." The Doctor said as we reentered the box. "Yes I couldn't believe that world either... Doctor was it?" I said feeling a little embarrassed. "Yes. Just the Doctor. Now I never got you name or back story. Please would you inform me where you come from because I have never seen anything like you in all my travels." The Doctor asked. "I'm from Equestria. My name is Lighting Bolt and... That's really all that needs to be said for now." I said while thinking about home. The Doctor ran up to his table thing and pulled a box up to his face. He spoke the word Equestria and said nothing more. I'm not sure what happened, but his face went grim and his smile disappeared. "That doesn't exist in the TimeLord data banks. I think this planet you call Equestria is long gone." The Doctor said with heavy sadness. The words went into my heart and shattered it. I felt like there was something stopping me from breathing. I became light headed and I had to use a rail to hold myself up. "It's not true Doctor! I know it's still there." I said. "I'm sorry. I truly am. There is no Equestria in any data banks. It can't exist." He said as he looked back at his table. Tears blurred my vision and my heart was skipping beats. "Doctor I lived in Equestria before I came here and I'm sure it's still there. My magic got me here!" "Wait your magic?" He asked. "I'm a Unicorn. I posses magical powers and those powers got me here." I said while holding back tears. He jumped over to me and placed a hoof on my shoulder. "That's it! Those powers might be able to get you home." I looked up with a smile. "How Doctor?" "Well in the void there is suppose to be nothing, but when you got here there was a whole world outside For that to happen there has to be a crack allowing real world energy to leak in. The world you see outside is there only because you came through." "Doctor I'm not getting it." "The leak is connected to you. That energy or magic ripped a hole in space and time to set you in a time lock. The void is like a big zoo habitat and you are the master of it. That's why you could create the house, and all the supplies you had. That's why you didn't die of hunger or thirst." I finally got what it meant. Discord said my magic would take me to a place where I would live there for eternity. The magic opened a hole to the void and created me a world to live in. That was the power of dis-harmony. He spoke quickly as he walked around his table. "Now the only way for the TARDIS to lock on to that crack is a trace amount of magic to the core." "Equestrian Doctor." "I'll suppose you didn't get it and I will make it a bit simpler. This is my ship. It's called the TARDIS and it can travel any where in space and time. But it has enough power to travel through the crack. It just needs a bit of your magic to find the crack." He opened a section of his table and there was a bright light shooting out of it. "Aim your magic for the console!" The Doctor yelled. I fired a magic bolt into the light and shut my eyes. "Get ready for a ride! ALLONS-Y!" The Doctor threw a lever down and the TARDIS started shaking violently. It was making a weird noise, but that was the least of my worries. I had a hard time keeping my balance and I was feeling light headed. I looked at the Doctor and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He was smiling and trotting around the console pulling levers and checking pieces. Finally it stopped moving. The sound stopped and the Doctor looked at his box. "Oh no!" He yelled. Feeling a bit better I stood on all four of my hooves and shook my head. "What happened Doctor?" His face looked grim and he didn't look like the Doctor from a couple seconds ago. "The crack has been sealed. There is no way I can go back." "I so sorry Doctor." I said while looking away. "Well it could be worse. The TARDIS could have never made it through the crack and we would be stuck in the void until we found a different crack to a different universe. Plus I'm not sure to many people would like this new form." He said while re-examining himself in the mirror. "You are an optimist. That is a great quality." I said feeling the light head-ness return. He looked at me and smiled."When you go everywhere in the universe, you meet some things that don't like you and they will stop at nothing to make sure you are gone. I have to have something to enjoy in that situation." "Yeah um Doctor.... D-Do you have anything to eat. I think my body is changing, and it just realized I haven't eaten anything in a thousand years." I said while supporting myself on a railing. "Ah yes." He said while helping me move on my hind legs. "Come on. Let's get you something to eat before you die." --------------- A large meal consisting of all kinds of fruit and vegetables was presented to me and I didn't waist time. After 10 minuets I had cleared all the plates given to me, along with enough water to fill a lake. After dinner the Doctor lead me to strange room where hundreds of cloths were hanging off hangers. "Doctor... What are you doing?" I asked. "Well I need something to wear." He said as he pulled on a tuxedo. "Doctor there is no need to wear anything. Our fur coats are all we need. We only wear cloths to fancy events." I said while retrieving my armor. The Doctor came to my side. "Are you serious? You just really walk around with no cloths?" I trotted to the door and looked back. "I'm not sure what "walk" is, but does it look like I'm serious?" He got to my side and nodded. "Don't worry Doctor you'll love Equestria. It's beautiful." I opened the door and looked around. The TARDIS landed in an ally-way made of cobblestone. I figured we landed some where in Canterlot so I motioned the Doctor to follow me. He came out of the TARDIS and tried to lock the door with the key in his hoof. Needless to say the key fell many times before I used my magic to lock the door. We walked out and I was horrified. The streets were lined with homeless ponies who looked tired and depressed. The whole town was grey and depressing and I couldn't get the smell of sewage out of my nose. "I really think you need your eyes checked, because this looks filthy." The Doctor said while trying to cover his nose. I said nothing and just trotted forward looking at the condition of the ponies. Street after street nothing got better. Ponies were huddled under patched blankets or make shift tents. There was all kind of coughing, sniffling, and moaning on every street. Pools of dirty water, among other things, where in every crack the rough cobblestone road was filled with the mysterious liquid. We got to the center of town and the conditions were even worse. There was a fountain in the center of the disaster that was called a city. Ponies were using the tainted water to wash the rags that they used as cloths. Stands were set up and they had only scraps of food for sale. Foals cried in the hooves of their mothers and fillys and colts galloped through the city center trying to take things from each other. Just as I was about to tell the Doctor to go back to the TARDIS somepony called my name. I looked around and saw nopony I knew. When I turned to face the Doctor there was a very old mare examining me. "May I help you?" I asked. She continued staring deeply into my eyes and said nothing. Her eyes went wide upon realization of something. "It is you! The lover of the immortal. The one who fought Celestia and won! You are Lighting Bolt!" She exclaimed. "Please come with me. I have something for you." I watched as the older mare started down one of the main streets at a slow pace. How? How does this old mare know who I am? I thought. Finally the Doctor spoke up. "Do you know that pony?" He asked. "She looks familiar, but I'm not sure." "Well she knows you. I say we find out where we are and why it is such a bad condition." The Doctor suggested. "Fine." --------------- The walk trough town was terrible. Ponies everywhere looked beat and broken. Foals clung to their mothers for warmth. Colts and fillys cried of empty stomachs, but nopony was there to hear them. We arrived at a cobblestone house covered posters that were so faded they couldn't be read. When we entered the house the site didn't get much better. There were two other ponies in the house. There was a mare laying on a couch and a stallion tending to her. The stallion turned around and raised an eye brow. He was a bigger stallion and his body looked built. He had brown eyes and a brown mane that was curly. He had a light orange coat and his cutie mark was a hammer and nail. "Grandma who is this?" The stallion asked. The elderly mare continued on her path to another room. "It's time." The stallion shot a look at me and the Doctor. "That's impossible. It's just a family legend." "Excuse me, but what is going on?" I asked. "Oh. My grand mother just pulled you off the street without saying anything?" The stallion asked. I nodded. "Oh. Well time for proper introduction. My name is Lumber Work." He said while looking back at the mare on the couch. "This is my wife Gentle Wind. We are expecting a foal soon." The Doctor jumped out from behind me. "Congratulation." He smiled and moved a cover over his wife. "Thank you. So what's your names?" "The Doctor." "Lighting Bolt." The stallion's eyes went wide. "Li-Lighting Bo-Bolt?" "Yes?" I answered. "A thousand years. It's impossible!" He yelled. What's your real name!" I was really gone for a thousand years. I thought. "Hush now." Said a gentle voice. "There is no need for this violence." Lumber turned around and saw his wife had awoken. He keeled down started running a hoof through her mane. "Who are the visitors?" She asked weakly. "Ello I'm the Doctor." "Lumber why did you call a Doctor? I'm doing just fine. They need to be at the hospital helping the ponies there." She said while sitting up. "Oh no. I'm not that kind of Doctor. My name is the Doctor." He said while rubbing the back of his neck. "Doctor Who? What's you name?" Lumber asked. "Just the Doctor." He said with a little smile. "Well Doctor, who is your friend?" Gentle asked. I stepped forward. "My name is Lighting Bolt." She sat up and stared at me with eyes as wide as suns. "Lighting? Like the story?" She asked her husband. "No I think he's just toying with us." Lumber said bitterly. "Hush now you varmit!" The old mare shouted as she entered the room. "That is Lighting Bolt. The family legend is true and I'm going to prove it to ya'. This box has been passed down generation to generation going all the back to the peaceful time. Twelve generations later I'm the one who has the opportunity and the privilege to meet you." Her magic was weak, but she levitated a old wooden box into view. "This box has been through so much and no matter how hard they tried to get it, our family was able to keep it hidden. Almost burned down with the house during the last raid. But some how it survived the flames. Now it's your's." I used my magic to grab hold of the box. When I pulled it closer I noticed scratch marks all over it. Upon further examination, I realized the markings were names. The newest looking name was Calm Wind. "The box was always guarded by on selected member of our family all the way back to the first name. scratched on top." Ruby Heart. It took a couple seconds to remember, but when I did, her name hit me like a ton of bricks. The Nurse!!! Luna's servant! "It's said that in that box there is a note from Ruby herself. Nopony in our family dared look inside. Now we can finally see what's inside." I used my magic and silence filled the air. There was a tiny click and the box creaked open. Silence took the room again. "Well what is it?" Lumber asked. "M-my old picture book and journal."
