It was midnight, and the darkness was completely black. Only the lit candle was the light. Rainbow was putting her pencil on her mouth thinking for a scenario in her fanfic. When Nightmare Moon was beside Rainbow Dash in her mind trying to think of an idea to continue her fanfic, she noticed that there was a little bad grammar.
In her mind, Nightmare moon asked, "Ummm.. Rainbow. Could I help you proofread thy scroll?"
"For a dark princess like you?" She scolded. "I don't think so."
"Oh. You'll regret that. I'm really good at thy English you know..."
"Nightmare Moon, your personality had a 1000-Year Generation Gap. You still back in Equestrian History for Celestia's sake. This is the modern times now. Your gonna need to fit in to society." As soon as Nightmare Moon was about to say something. Princess Luna came entered the library. Princess Luna was done fixing up the stars in the sky. She was bored so she went to Twilight's library. Instead, she saw Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow suddenly bowed to her when she came in and said, "Princess Luna I can explain-" She stopped as Luna raised one of her hoof. She then looked at the scroll with her fanfic, then to Rainbow.
"What are you doing?"
"Ummmm...It's none of your business..." She suddenly kept the scroll in a drawer.
"Hmmm.... really?" She then used her unicorn magic to get the scroll out of the drawer and quickly read the fanfic. "Oh, so you're making a story?"
Rainbow had no answer but she just said, "Yes..."
"I see you are imagining my evil self right now. Is it that because your mind got out of control?"
"Yes... But it's none of your business, Princess."
"Well, I could fix that..." Again, she used her magic to bring out the hallucinating image of Princess Luna's evil self, Nightmare Moon.
"Huh? What is this!? 'Tis a lie?" Nightmare asked. She then looked at Luna for a moment.
"Hello, evil me." Luna greeted
"Why hello, good me." Nightmare greeted back. "It's been a thousand years since we've last met. You have changed quite a lot now."
"Oh really?"
"Hey, do you girls know a thing called mirrors?" Rainbow chuckled.
"No?" Nightmare answered as a question. Rainbow stopped chuckling when she heard her answer.
"Hey Evil me!" Luna said as she gets attention from Nightmare.
"Yes Good me?"
"Do you remember the moments we had in the moon?"
"Moments? Oh.......Those moments." She sighed. "I remembered it like it was a thousand years ago..."
Rainbow Dash dropped the quill and said surprisingly,"Wait! You girls keep track of your time in the moon?!"
"Yes." They both said, "Anyway, here is our story..."
Year 1, I, or so well say 'we', were so angry at Celestia back then when we were banished at the moon. Back then, we thought that our eternal night won't be handled by Celestia herself. We were proven wrong. We didn't do much in the moon. It was horrible, Everything was cold, dull, no life at all. It was like a strange bear who went to the moon for no reason and doesn't know how to get back. We were like that but with a reason. We turned bad because of our jealousy.
Year 179, Everything was changing. We never become hungry cause we have magic to do it. We had different kinds of entertainment. We would rather sit on a couch and look at the same old starry night than watch Celestia ruling the world. We also look at Equestria growing enormously in the years going by.
Year 263, We used our magic to send ourselves home before the New Year started, but we failed. Instead, we set up fireworks and wore party horns until the countdown starts. "3. 2. 1. Happy New Year!!!!" They all shouted in the land. We set up the glorious fireworks in the moon. They were all going "Ooh Aahh!" at our work. Until we accidentally hit some buildings in Manehattan and Fillydelphia.
Year 341, We laughed at the people who suffered and lost their jobs because of their Stock Market that went 'Hands Down!' to the ground. And we meant that the Equestrian Stock Market crashed. But the sad part in that time was that the original Sugar Cube Corner was shut down. We cried so badly because of this.
Year 612...
"Go on. I'm listening..." Rainbow Dash sits down and listens.
"Oh you don't want to know..." Nightmare said.
"Why?"
"That was thy the worst year of our 1000-Year Banishment..." She complained.
Year 911, We literally forgot how to make 'star art'. So we made some art in the sky. Apparently our art level is rather elementary so we'd put the sun in the corner and make birds look like 3s that were turned 90 degrees counter-clockwise. We also made some messages from Princess Celestia that we will come back for revenge. We also told the other ponies in Equestria this message: "nooS gnimoC !!!!RRREVE TSAL LLIW THGIN EHT". They'd be so confused at it, even astrologers won't even get the message!
Year 999, Our revenge against Princess Celestia was getting near. As the longest day arrives, This translucent bridge was connected from the moon to Equestria. When we stepped on it, we were dragged by a dark tornado and landed in the town hall in this very town. Which started our short 'night-will-last-forever' reign.
"But since you girls turned me into her," She said as she pointed her hoof to Princess Luna and continued. "You actually deserved it."
"Really?"
"No." She made an evil laugh.
But Princess Luna became furious and started to speak with the Royal Canterlot Voice. "YOU MUST NOT INSULT ONE OF THE ELEMENTS OR YOU WILL FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!"
"Hey! Hey! Hey! I'm in Rainbow's mind which is thy currently out of control!" She exclaimed.
"I'm separate from you now." She said. Rainbow immediately separated her mind from Nightmare Moon.
"GET BACK HERE, EVIL ME!" Princess Luna shouted as she chased the hallucinating Nightmare Moon.
"No! Stop! You can't do this! Nooooo!" They chased each other and went out of the library.
"Well that's the two of them gone..." Rainbow said bluntly and sighed deeply. She then said, "Moon logs? Really? I won't even do those. But I might do it in a later time."
