Gaiking: Legend of Twilight Sparkle

When it comes to ponies, they are like diamonds; with multiple facets or parts to each one. Some hidden, others out in the open constantly. For one Twilight Sparkle, many of her parts are out in the open for all to see. But there is one part that few know about, even her parents, big brother, and Princess Celestia. The only ponies really privileged to know these parts are her old foal-sitter Princess Cadance and her assistant -little brother figure- Spike. And it all revolved around one of Twilight’s adventures as a foal. Unfortunately that secret was about to be revealed thanks to Queen Chrysalis; which will create a new legend. One that Princess Celestia did not even see coming despite all of her years as a princess.

Twilight smiled as she saw her big brother Shining Armor and oldest friend/foal-sitter Candance nuzzle each other happily. Unlike what her friends had thought; she wasn’t against either of them getting married at all -thought she was more than a bit miffed that Shiny had waited until the last minute to tell her about their marriage when Candace had told her about his proposal to her almost a year ago after Discord’s release. Unfortunately the good times came to an abrupt end when the entirety of Canterlot began to shake as Queen Chrysalis’ voice echoed through the castle walls.

“IF I CANNOT HAVE THE LOVE OF THE PONIES IN EQUESTRIA!!! THEN NO PONY SHALL HAVE IT AT ALL!!!”

Everypony looked outside and gasped in shock as they saw a giant two legged monster rise from the ground like a demon. It stood as a height that was almost three times as tall as Canterlot’s highest peak and nearly reached the snow capped peak of the mountain it sat on. The monster itself was similar to a minotaur but had green armor like skin with one red eye and a spiked shell on it’s back with just a loin cloth certain parts of it from being seen.

All the ponies in the castle proper began to run about wildly in fear as the monster slowly lumbered it’s way to Canterlot with the intent of destroying it on it’s awakener's behalf. The only ponies not scared in the least bit was Twilight, Candace, and Spike.

“So, Daiyu was right,” she said startling those who did not know her secret.

“What do you mean Twilight?” Applejack asked but instead of an answer, Twilight raced off back inside the castle with Candace and Spike behind her.

Her friends, teacher and brother quickly raced after them shouting off questions to the trio who ignored them in favor of using their magic or claw to pull out a strange object out of their mane/subspace pocket. The object looked like a gold ring almost three inches in radius with a clear crystal core in the
middle that seemed to glow with an inner flame.

Soon the trio reached the highest balcony in the castle which was facing the slowly lumbering monster. Behind them, their friends/family stood behind them with Fluttershy quickly hiding her face from the monster with more fear racing through her body then she had ever felt before.

“Don’t worry Fluttershy,” Twilight said; the only one without fear in her small group of friends -Spike and Candace not included, “I’m going to call an old friend out to help us.

“What are you talking about Twilight?!?!” Rainbow Dash asked with a shout as she quickly flew over to Twilight’s side glaring at her, “From what I know, we’re your only friends?!?!”

“True,” Twilight replied to a now stunned pegasus, “My only pony friends. But my old friend isn’t a pony at all.”

With that she stepped up to the front, raised her gold ring up high as she shouted at the top of her voice, “RISE UP; DAIKU MARYU!!!!”

A strange roar echoed right after she said that and from the deep nearby lake; a huge column of water shot up into the air and something rose out of it. All the ponies behind Twilight -besides Spike and Candace- were stunned to see what looked like a wingless light blue metal dragon -over twice the size of the monster- with a golden horned skull like head, two limbs/feet, and silver spikes going down it’s back rise up from the water with a deep reverberating roar.  It quickly floated over to the monster and swung around, it’s thick barbed tail slamming into the monster sending it flying before it landed in-between the monster and Canterlot shocking all the ponies there.

Celestia was stunned by the aura of power the metal dragon projected mentally and metaphysically as her senses screamed at her that this beast was not one to enrage despite her having more power then it since it’s will was even stronger and deeper than hers.

“Twilight,” she breathed out as she watched the dragon seemingly glare at the monster, “What is that???”

“That,” twilight said proudly, “Is the Demon Dragon of the Heavens; Daiku Maryu!” then a strange glint appeared in her eyes as she said something that stunned them all, “And with his help, I can defeat that monster.”

With that Twilight looked at Candace and Spike who nodded back before the young dragon and pony jumped on top of Candace who opened her wings and took off towards Daiku Maryu despite everypony calling out to them. Soon the trio were high above the demon dragon who looked at them as if waiting something. That something was Twilight suddenly jumping off Candace suddenly, falling towards Daiku who opened it’s fanged mouth and ‘swallowed’ the unicorn to her friend’s shock.

“I thought that dragon was going to help us!!! Not gobble Twilight up!!!” Applejack shouted at the top of her lungs ready to apple-buck the dragon with all her might while Rainbow Dash was ready to fly over to the dragon and demand it cough up her friend..

“I’m not dead yet,” Twilight’s voice came out of nowhere stunning the ponies until they saw another ring similar to the one Twilight had at Celestia’s feet.

Inside Daiku’s head, Twilight had transformed, her back legs lengthening until they became similar to a minotaur’s but with one bend in her legs instead of two, her front legs also lengthened but changed to become hands similar to a Diamond Dog’s but with four fingers instead of three -not including the thumb.  Her body also lengthened with two strange ‘balloons’ appearing on her chests. Her body was still furred but it had turned to white instead of the familar lavender as her mane suddenly spiked up and gained colors similar to a fire with her tail also gaining the same colors while her eyes turned ruby red.

The last thing that had changed was a strange dark blue and black covering formed over her body from the neck down with gold armor on her chest reminiscent of Daiku’s skull. There was additional armor on her shoulder, wrists -with the right one connected to the strange gold ring Twilight had-, and the front of her hooves. The transformed unicorn landed in a seat with handles on the armrests where her new hands were with pedals at her hooves and a small monitor hanging above her legs  in front her her chest.

When Twilight took ahold of the handles, lines of flames appeared behind her seat and to the sides with a large circular screen appearing behind the monitor and in front of the unicorn. “I’m sorry to keep this from you girls, Shiny, Princess Celestia,” Twilight said through the ring as she glared at the screen which showed a picture of the monster slowly getting up, “I did not think you would believe me if I told you about Daiku Maryu since he would not reveal himself unless these Armored Monster appear on Equestria. Hopefully I can make up for this later.” And with that she began to forge her own legend different from the one Celestia had planned for her with a shout of...

“DAIKU MARYU: LAUNCH HEAD!!!”

Outside Daiku, the dragon’s head suddenly flew off its body, slamming into the monster and sending him back into the dirt as Candace -who had vanished with a teleport along with Spike- also shouted through the ring as an opening appeared below Daiku’s neck., “LAUNCH GAIKING: PARTS 1 AND 2!!!”

Two black objects with crimson red parts shot out of the opening and towards Daiku’s head which flew up towards the sky as Twilight shouted, “BEGIN DOCKING SEQUENCE!!!”

One of the objects, which looked like two pointed cylinders with red wings on the back, suddenly split below the wings and spread apart forming a gap while the second part -which looked similar to the first one but with crimson four points stars on the sides instead of wings and silver pincers on the front- suddenly lengthened revealing white columns under the black  and the pincers slid closer together.

“DAIKU HEAD, GAIKING PART 1; DOCK!”

Daiku’s head suddenly slowed down as the back of it connected to the gap with the cylinders swinging down until they were pointed below the skull which had become the chest.

A second later the second part flew up beneath the connected parts as Twilight shouted, “GAIKING PART 1, PART 2; DOCK!” and the pincer docked below Daiku’s head causing more parts to shift around as the stars twisted around forming knee caps while the bottom of Part 2’s the cylinders shifted around to form feet. The points of the cylinders on Part 1 suddenly pulled back with a burst of flames revealing hands as the top of Daiku’s head slid back revealing a smaller white head with a black mask, red crest, and the horns of Daiku on the sides. The eyes of the smaller head began to shine as flames appeared behind Daiku’s own as Twilight shouted the name of the Fighting Flame Giant of the Heavens.

“GAIKING~!!!!”

The newly names Gaiking landed in front of the standing monster as Twilight smirked with a, “Docking Complete.” And with that she charged at the monster with a war cry which was reciprocated as the
‘minotaur’ threw a right hook which Gaiking pushed to the side ,spark flying from the armor, before punching the monster as Twilight expertly manipulated the handles/throttles with the ease of a pianist playing a piano.

Princess Celestia, Shining Armor, all of Twilight’s friends watched in shock as the seemingly innocent unicorn battled the monster with ease similar to a veteran fighter despite the oddly shaped body. Twilight easily dodged another attack as she had Gaiking jump back with the help form the wings and pack on her back before activating one of the giant’s many attacks.

“DESPAIR SIGHT!!!” Twilight shouted, slamming a button that appeared on the side of the cockpit with her call as Gaiking’s eyes began shining before beams of energy shot out of them and sliced one of the monster’s arms off causing it to scream in pain as the unicorn mare shout out another attack.

“ZAUL GEYSER!!!” This time the attack came out of Daiyu’s eyes with the right one releasing a red beam while the left released a blue one. Seconds after being fired the beams began to swirl together in a helix before it hit the monster who roared in pain as its right arm was sliced off.

“How do you like that?!?!” Twilight shouted with a grin which quickly changed into a dropped jaw as she saw the stumps bubbling where the arms were cut off before four more arms burst out -two for each socket- while the cut off arms dissolved into pink smoke.

“AW, COME ON!!!” Rainbow Dash shouted in rage with Pinkie adding.

“NOW THAT’S CHEATING!!!”

The monster just ignored the little ponies as it began to attack Gaiking once more with double the attacks. Twilight had Gaiking duck, dodge, and block any attack getting a few hits in herself... Until an unlucky backstep threw her off balance enough for the ‘minotaur’ to grab Gaiking’s legs with all four arms and swing the metal giant around. Twilight screamed as she was twirled around before the monster let go and Gaiking flew through the air before slamming down into the ground, forming a crater from the power behind the throw. A second later the monster began to gather black/dark green flame like energy in its hands it then slammed the balls of energy together before releasing it as a beam which pierced the air before slamming into Gaiking and exploding.

“TWILIGHT!!!!” Celestia, Shining, and the unicorn mare’s friends shouted in shock.

Unfortunately this caused the monster to look at them and start lumbering towards them...Until a familiar voice called out from the smokey crater, “PUNCHER GRIND!!!”

Suddenly Gaiking’s fist shot out of the smoke via a trail of fire which came out of the part where it connected at the elbow and slammed into the monster before Twilight’s voice called out again.

“ZECTOR HOOK!!!”

A cone tipped line also shot out of the smoke, connected to the fist/forearm and reeled it back into the smoke to the shock and delight of the ponies watching as a figure slowly started to appear in the smoke.

“You thought you could defeat me with such weak flames,” Twilight asked as Gaiking’s eyes glowed through the smoke, “As long as my friends are at my side, with their own flames burning bright; and my family, my second mother: Celestia, and big sister: Candace are watching...I WILL NOT FALL TO A MONSTER LIKE YOU!!!!!” the final shouted caused the smoke to quickly dissipate as Gaiking’s power burst out of it in a flaming aura making the monster take a few steps back.

Celestia gasped in shock at what Twilight said and watched as Gaiking’s power rise to heights near her own as the metal giant charged forward; its pilot roar out a war cry filled with courage and an iron will. The monster tried to counter attack with a double right punch; but the Flame Giant easily dodged the attack before catching the ‘minotaur’ with ir’s horn and lifting him to the skies with a roar of its own.

“VOLT PARALYZER!!!” Twilight shouted as millions of volts suddenly coursed through the monster causing it to roar in pain as the thing that allowed it to regenerate was destroyed.

Twilight then took her new hands off the throttles as crimson flames covered them and her forearms forming gold/polished bronze gauntlets from the arnor on her wrists that the mare soon used to grasp the monster -through Gaiking- and began swinging him around.

“AW YEA TWILIGHT!” Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie shouted with Shining Armor adding his two bits in.

“GIVE HIM A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE!!!’

“TAKE HIM OUT TWILIGHT,” Fluttershy also shouted to her friends’ shock as her normal inhibitions were temporarily disable seeing her friend almost die on her.

Twilight smirked inside Gaiking’s cockpit before throwing the monster up into the air, readying the finisher.”Taste the power of my flames, along with THE FLAMES OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!!” Twilight said building up into a shout as she crossed the giant’s arms in front of Daiku’s head which began to glow in the eyes and mouth along with Gaiking’s and Twilight’s as her magic infused itself into this final attack.

Once the output was at the correct level -a whirring sound coming from the giant- Twilight then let loose Gaiking’s most powerful attack, throwing her arms and the giant’s out to the side as she shouted...

“HYDRO BLAZER!!!!”

Suddenly, bright crimson flames shot out of Daiku’s mouth and eyes, brighter and more powerful than anything Celestia had ever seen before. The flames spiraled through the air and towards the monster who could do nothing but scream in rage as its body was quickly bombarded by the flames; turning most of it’s body to ash.

When the attack finished, Twilight turned Gaiking around and took a pose as the monster suddenly exploded, creating an awe inspiring sight.

All the ponies watching had their jaws on the floor with what they just saw. Only one of them had any words that really summed the situation up...

“That was Awesome!”
