Soul Harvest

Ashes

“BURN YOU WILL ALL BURN, AHAHAHAHA” the warlock laughed while sending rains of fire down to the already dead and smoldering corpses.
“The pathetic mortals been burned to nothing, there is nothing left of it to burn master” I said.
“YOU dare tell me to stop? YOU are lucky I am low on souls, or I would have banished you right at that comment. YOU are my SLAVE, YOU SERVE ME!”
“I serve you indeed, but may I suggest you a place to collect more souls master?”
“The last time I listen to one of you pathetic demons, I died. I am now a walking CORPSE”
“If you're so mad of what she did, why do you continue to summon her?”
“SO SHE CAN SUFFER, long as I can move I WILL MAKE HER SUFFER. Tell me your idea SO I CAN DENY IT” the warlock screamed at me.
“I was thinking-”
“DO NOT THINK, JUST SPIT IT OUT”
“We-you could go to another realm, one that knows peace, ripe for chaos”
The warlock made a horrid and decayed smile “their souls will be mine, you open the portal. NOW!”
“Yes master”
I thrusted both of my blades into the red soil about 3 meters apart, and then started the spell. Slowly a portal started to form between the blades, the color was black as the master’s heart. Then a green energy from the right blade, and a red energy from the left blade leaked into the portal, stabilizing it.
“Took you long enough-if you dare to betray me I will torture you more than I do of Aezva. Since you so kindly told me of this place, I will allow you to follow along and bring fresh chaos”
“It is a pleasure to take all pathetic creatures to the flame, they will eat your fire and my steel”
As the warlock steps into the portal, I ripped my blades out of the ground and ran into the dissolving portal after him
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We arrived near a town, the land was green and the skies had a light shade of blue. “Oh I hate this place”
“So you been here before Laz-garath” the warlock stated.
“Once, shortly before I came in your service, at another location on the planet” I said.
I noticed a nearby puddle and looked at my reflection. Everything about me is built to rip and tear. My shoulderplates, and the armor at my knees have been fixed with short yet sharp blades. My hands and feet is clawed, and my chest and tail is bare of anything except for the blade fixed near the end of my tail. I grinned, revealing razor sharp teeth. I am indeed built to shred anything in my path
“Stop staring at your reflection and listen to me slave” the warlock said with annoyance. “This will be simple, we go into that shameful excuse for a town, BURN it to the ground, and take their souls”
“Yes master”
The warlock walks along the path into the town, with me following along. Arriving near the first building into the town, we spot some quadruped creatures that looks like a horse but, it was smaller and one had a horn, and another had wings.
“In all the things I seen in the Twisting Nether, I have not seen anything as plain stupid looking as those things” I commented.
“What is that?” one of the creatures spoke, having a pink and blue mane.
“It matters not” the warlock spoke and then raises his voice “my name is Katammari, and I’ll give you a proper use”
Without pause Katammari raise his skeletal finger and pointed at the creature that last spoke and then suddenly, the creature caught fire and exploded, spewing blood and bits of skin all over the other creatures , who is now screaming in horror.
I then rush towards them and slammed my shoulder into the bloodied green creature, knocking it to the ground with a horrid gash, as my shoulder armor is bladed. I spun my blades into a reverse grip and jabbed one into creature’s front right leg and then jabbed the other into the front left. I let go of one of my blades and took my clawed hand and grabbed the creature’s throat, “What do you call yourself?” I asked it.
“L..Lyra” the creature spoke.
I punched it in where its stomach should be and then spoke “not what I meant, what is your race?”
“I am a pony, wh-”
I punched the pony in the same spot once more “You want to live, yes?”
“Y...yes”
“Than answer the master’s questions, what he does with you is not my choice”
Katammari walks up to Lyra and spoke “does your race know of holy magic?”
“Holy magic?”
“I say that answers for itself master, what you want me to do with this one?” I asked.
“Let the pony flee in terror, now I can say I have extended mercy” Katammari responded.
I pulled my blades out of Lyra’s front legs. The pony tried to stand up only to fall down.
Katammari smiled at the pony’s suffering then spoke “let me help you with that...FLEE!”
Lyra’s wound suddenly healed enough for her to walk, and now is running out of the town in mindless terror.
“Now that thing can go tell others of my wonderful mercy, and my power. Maybe if I’m lucky, more will arrive before this town is in ashes”
“Chaos will spread at your hands master”
The warlock hold his hands up, and dark clouds start form. As quickly as the clouds appeared, it started raining fire and somehow not hitting us at all. “Now the town’s fate is sealed, now for the residents to fall”
We walk deeper into the town, only to find the streets deserted, but as the fire continue to spread, the ponies start to run out of their homes and hiding spots. Notably an orange pony with a hat walks up to us.
“May I take this one master?” I asked, and the warlock nodded in response,
“Are you responsible for this weather?” the pony asked me.
“No, but I enjoy it. What is life, if you don’t burn it?”
“What kind of talk is that, nopony should go around burning everything just for the sake of burning”
“Spoken just like a mortal that never felt the power of the flames or true power at all”. I grinned and then continued to speak “have you ever tasted blood in your mouth? Felt the glory of ripping everything you hate to shreds? I know I have. I do not have the freedom to choose where to go, but I still have the freedom to use my hate and misery against anything that stands in my way”
“So you're a slave?” The pony asked me.
Katammari walks up and answered for me “Laz-garath is my slave, as it been for near 20 years, we have something in common, we both despise the likes of you”
“I hate you more than these pathetic ponies, if I wasn’t so tightly bound, I would have killed you already” I thought.
“SLAVE! Kill this one NOW!”
I immediately responded by throwing my sword at the orange pony. The pony moved to dodge the sword, causing the throw miss it’s target entirely. The orange pony runs up to me, quickly turned around and bucked me right in my bare chest. The buck was impossibly strong, knocking me off my feet and flat on my back.
“YOU WORTHLESS SLAVE!” Katammari yelled at me.
The warlock raised his hand, and a few seconds after that, a ball of flame shot out at the orange pony. Right when the ball of flame was about to hit the pony, a light purple dome appeared around the pony preventing any harm.
I stumbled back onto my feet, and noticed a white pony with a purple mane standing right outside of the crowd, and its horn was glowing. “That must be the one casting the spell” I mumbled under my breath.
The white pony then spoke “I will not let you discussing creatures lay a claw on Applejack”
“Your dome prevents harm of a simple flame, but can it take the full strength of a Wrathgaurd?”
I straighten myself up a little, and then ran at the dome with the sword in my left hand in position to pierce the defence. The shield held for a moment, but then it cracked and quickly vanished. Using my momentum, I continued my charge and used my sword to slash out at the orange pony, that I now know its name is Applejack. The blade collided with the pony’s left hind leg, earning a scream.
I raise my sword to finish Applejack off, but before I could bring my blade down, I got hit in the back knocking me off balance. I spun around to see what hit me, but all I saw was a burning building. With my anger and frustration rising, I continued to look around, but I still saw nothing that could have the courage or ability to attack me.
“SHOW YOURSELF WORM!” I yelled.
“Leave my friends alone” a voice came from above.
I looked up to see a blue pony with wings flying fast down towards me. Realizing what it was going to do, I dropped my sword and let the pony get closer. I then jumped up and grabbed the pony’s leg and slammed it down to the ground, back first. Continuing with my hold I pulled the pony up so it’s face is at my eye level.
“That..all you got?” the pony spat out.
“Not even close weakling” I answered.
Using my free hand, I grabbed the pony’s left wing and ripped it off. I then squeezed my right hand to crush the blue pony’s hoof, then I let the pony drop to the ground in a bloody heap.
“I am not done with you yet” I said to the blue pony while kicking it away.
Turning around I looked to see Katammari channeling a spell that clearly putting a drain on his mana reserves. Suddenly a dark purple beam hit the warlock in the chest sending him into a nearby wall.
“If I’m lucky that will kill him, but then again he came back from worse...” I thought.
“I WILL NOT DIE AGAIN!” Katammari screamed.
Katammari stood up and walked back to where he last stood, but then turned to me and spoke “what are you waiting for slave, go and shred that crowd to pieces!” and then he returned to continue the spell.
I picked up my two swords, and then charged at the crowd. The group started to scatter, but I was too fast for them to react quickly enough. I held my blades straight out from me, to the side, and start to spin around. I hit several ponies, killing them, before the overall group fully fled from my range. Stopping my spin I managed to get a look at another purple beam hitting the warlock knocking him down.
“Whatever is doing that clearly can tell the spell he is working on is more dangerous than I am” I thought.
Before I could give chance to some of the fleeing ponies I suddenly felt weaker and continued to feel weaker. Realizing that Katammari was sucking my life force out to replenish his own, I tried to break it, but all I was able to do is collapse on the ground.
“Thank you for your life force slave. I now can complete the spell” Katammari said while walking up to me. “Abysal I SUMMON you”.
“He can summon an Abysal?! Well this town is good as gone” I thought, while struggling to get back on my feet.
High in the skies a red ball of fire starts spiraling down, but before it could get anywhere near the ground a golden beam came seemingly out of nowhere and hit the ball and it exploded.
“IMPOSIBLE!” Katammari yelled.
Still suffering from the drain of my life force, I limped towards where the orange pony still lies. I raised my sword to finally finish it off, but the warlock interrupted me.
“Forget the creature, YOU will serve me in a better way” Katammari said to me, and then started to drain my life force more.
“NO! I will not die here, you WILL” I replied in anger. I with all my remaining strength I struggled to reverse the spell.
“You ARE MY SLAVE! You cannot stop me”
“I cannot stop you at your full power for you bind me too strongly, but you are now WEAK. Your control over me is weakening, my anger against you is great. My Hatred for you is eternal”. I start to feel my strength returning “I told Aezva to lead you to Lordaeron right before the Scorage came, you died, but you became Forsaken, your hold on me never quite broke. YOU WILL NEVER RISE AGAIN, I WILL BE FREE!”
Katammari managed to stop the drain, but the damage was done. With my strength returned, I charged at my former master knocking him down and severing his right arm.
“You will regret this treachery”
“I will make sure you cannot return. Your body will burn in the very flames you created” I said.
I dropping the sword out of my left, I lifted up Katammari and then sliced him in half. After a moment of relief of finally breaking the bond that held me for 20 years, I grabbed the remains of the warlock and thrust them into one of the burning buildings.
“Finally. Finally free, it is almost a shame these creatures died in the process of my freedom”
I turned around and looked at the two ponies I wounded, I walked towards the blue one and kneeled down to it.
“You...you’re still a monster” the blue pony spoke.
“Defiant to the end, I like that. I will tell you this I do enjoy slicing apart the weak, I believe the weak should not live, prime reason I was able to put up with that accursed warlock for so long was that I could do just that. Now that I am free I will extend the first bit of mercy I have to the remainder of this town”. I smiled a little, “ and perhaps your kind will grow stronger after this, and give me a real battle when I eventually return”
“You will harm my little ponies no longer” a voice came from behind me.
I turned around and saw a pony, but it was different it was taller, reaching nearly my own height. Its body was pure white, and had a multicolor mane that flowed in a non existent breeze.
“Do you see me harming them? I was just about to leave” I responded
“From what I heard, you and another came here and attacked unprovoked, injuring and even killing ponies”
“Did you hear about the fact that I was that warlock’s slave? That he was the one that first attacked?”
“I did hear about you not being fully acting on your own will, but you seemed eager to attack anyway, you also fit a perfect description of the creature that attacked the griffins two decades back”
“What are you going to do cage me? Kill me? Trying that will get more killed, and I just extended the first bit of mercy I ever given to the remainder of this town”
“You WIll answer for your crimes”
“Trying to kill me will not work, I simply will come back somewhere else and go about my way, so it is your choice: let me leave in peace or return with a vengence on a later date?”
“I hope I am making the right choice”. The white pony closed its eyes and then spoke “leave now and do not return”
“I will leave, but before I go, I’ll tell you this, some of these ponies have courage just lack the strength to back it up, perhaps in the future they will gain that strength. I will also give you note, I WILL return, and I hope the fight I get is worthy of my time”
