...That was a good night's sleep, better than my last two nights, wait. Why has no one tried to wake me up? Did Fluttershy try to come by today? I better not have slept through her visit, come on body wake up! Okay let's see, it's light out so afternoon, oh there's the doctor again.
"Excuse me doctor, do you have a minute?"
"Yes, how can I assist you?"
"Have I had any visitors today when I was asleep?" I am terrified as to the answer, but I have to know!
"No, honestly I was a little surprised, that mare came here at the exact same time everyday prior to this one to check on your recovery, it is a little odd."
"Thank you doctor, that is all sorry to interrupt your day." Wow I must have really screwed up yesterday, if she isn't even coming to visit anymore. I just lost the only pony that I would look forward to talking to help me pass the time, wow that's depressing. Might as well tilt my head back and get some more sleep, nothing else to do around here,
Wait, whose that pony in the hall, they look like they're dragging something and are they coming into my room?
"Uh, hello?" What is this pony doing? I can't see what they're dragging, can't risk trying to sit up again like I did yesterday.
"Howdy, so you're Windbreaker?" Who is this pony? I can tell she's a mare, there is a southern accent in her voice and like Twilight she's not bad in the looks department. A solid orange coat, golden mane and tail and they're kept in some hair ties, but what is she doing here?
"At you're service, well I would be if I wasn't in my current condition, were you dragging something in here?"
"Yep, can ya get up now? I had to drag ya from your cottage to get ya here, the least ya could do is say hello to him." Wait she was dragging some pony into my room and no pony said anything? This day just got interesting again.
"Who are you talking to?" Who was she dragging in here? Why was she dragging them here and- oh sweet Celestia it's Fluttershy.
"Come on, you told him you would come back today, you should honor your word, you already talked to him he won't bite." Wow, she had to be dragged here, I feel like such a jerk right and I didn't even have anything to do with it. Was yesterday really that bad?
"H..hey Windbreaker, h-how are you feeling today?" Something is going on here, she didn't have a problem talking to me yesterday.
"Well, a lot better now, I was starting to worry you weren't going to visit me today, but how are you feeling today? You seem a bit nervous." Yeah, maybe more that a bit.
"O-oh, it's... it's nothing." Fluttershy, it didn't work yesterday and it didn't work the day before that, it won't work today either.
"Fluttershy, please tell me what's going on, I can see that it's something, can you please just tell me what it is?"
"Well... it's just, I have to go now!" Wait, what? No!
"On no ya don't! Ya at least should answer him, he did say please Fluttershy, what is it?"
"Can... can I tell you out in the hall?" Okay, now I really want to know, just what is going on right now!
"I guess, can ya excuse us for a moment there Windbreaker?"
"I suppose." Okay what in the name of Celestia is going on here? Either the painkillers are getting to my head and I'm missing something kind of obvious or this is so cryptic that I can't figure this out without someone explaining it to me.
Okay, so their out in the hall talking about me, I really want to know what they're saying, but I really want an explanation from Fluttershy a lot more.
There's her friend again, but I don't see Fluttershy. "Uh, miss where did Fluttershy go?"
"Uh, well, she went home, but before ya start worryin' she promised she would still come and visit you everyday, even if I have to drag her here myself."
"Okay, thank you miss..." Oh. I never actually learned what her name is.
"AppleJack, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
"Likewise, so can you tell me exactly is going on with Fluttershy? Everyday now she is acting stranger and stranger and I really want to know what's going on."
"Well... I kind of promised her I wouldn't, sorry it must be irritatin' to not get an answer, but my hooves are tied here." Of course, this is unbelievable! I just want to know why she's acting like this, not asking for a hoof and a leg or some divine miracle.
"Well, okay if she asked you not to then I won't push the issue, so if I'm not prying, what do you do around here for work?"
"Oh well ya ain't prying, I work at the apple orchard just outside of town, my family owns it, Sweet Apple Acres." Wow, this mare must work hard to be the owner of an orchard.
"Impressive, it must be a lot of work to manage an entire orchard everyday, you must be quite strong."
"Oh I'm not that strong, just a hard-worker." Oh no, she's starting to turn red, this could end up like Fluttershy's departure yesterday. "Still thank ya for the compliment," okay good she isn't making a break for the door.
...Okay I should break this silence before it gets too unbearable.
"So... what exactly happened before you came to visit, albeit with an uncooperative Fluttershy in tow?"
"Well, I don't really know, a few days ago she told me and her other friends how she found ya and took ya to the hospital and how ya wanted to meet us. She planned for each of us to come a different day, Twilight was here yesterday I was to come today and... well I will leave the other three to be a surprise. But anyway, I went out to Fluttershy's cottage to come up here with her, but when I knocked on her door, she was fakin' bein' sick. I could tell she was so I told her that she would not back out on this, ya really been through a lot and need a friend around to help ya get through this."
"Yeah, that is not a good thing, I didn't think that she was that caught off guard from what happened yesterday, I feel like I did something stupid." Probably because I did, such a stupid thing to do and it might have royally screwed my friendship with her over.
"Well, what did ya do yesterday?"
"Well, Fluttershy was having this recurring dream about me dying in the hospital, how she wasn't fast enough, I felt bad that she was so worried about me. So, I summoned all the strength I had and sat up and gave her a hug, then she practically ran out like the building was on fire."
"Ya hugged her? Then, she just ran out, because ya gave her a hug?"
"Pretty much, I don't get it, her face just turned bright red and she just ran out in such a hurry, I feel really bad, and now she doesn't wanna be in the same room as me." That's the story of me throwing away one of the best friendships I ever had in less than five minutes, any questions?
"Well, don't ya fret none, she will come around just give her a day or two." Is she grinning right now? How could she feel anything close to happiness about what I just said? Just what in Tartaraus is going on here?!? Asking about this is getting me nowhere so I should just change the subject.
"Alright, so you want to ask me anything to try to get to know me better?"
"Just a confirmation, did ya really survive a timber wolf attack in the Everfree Forest?" No, I was mauled to death and am now a ghost here to haunt you for all eternity.
"Only because Fluttershy dragged my sorry flank to this hospital, without her I doubt I would have lasted even an hour out there before bleeding to death."
"So she really saved your life out there, my gosh ya really got lucky didn't ya?" You have no idea.
"Oh definitely, I owe Fluttershy my life, and to see her feeling the way she does just tears at me. Especially since I am the one causing it, I just feel stupid for doing that to her."
"Ya really do care about her don't ya?" Yes, yes a million times yes, is there a point?
"Of course, she is the nicest pony I've met in so many years, and the fact that she dragged me here out of moral code just adds to that."
"Well, that's all I needed to hear, I'm gonna go make sure Fluttershy's alright, ya take care of yourself and don't try to take on anymore timber wolves before I see ya again, alright?" No, as soon as you leave I'm going out and having a rematch with those bloodthirsty beasts.
"I will try to keep my wolf fighting urges in check, a pleasure to meet you Ms. AppleJack."
"Likewise, try to get some sleep, ya need it."
Once again, solitude takes hold and another day is done and another friend met, not a bad day except for Fluttershy running out again. I really need to know exactly what is going on with her, I'm starting to get worried, but thinking this into oblivion will solve nothing. Sleep, all I need right now is sleep.
