//------------------------------// // Chapter 5 // Story: Everypony loves Twilight // by LankyLuna //------------------------------// It's been a week since Pinkie asked Twilight out, and Twilight hadn't left her house in all that time, except for once when she needed to fetch some diamonds for Spike. "C'mon, Twi! You haven't gone out for a whole week! What's wrong with you?" Spike whined with concern "I just need time." Twilight said with an annoyed tone. "Time for what? Why won't you tell me?! Twilight, I'm worried for you." "I'll tell you later, okay Spike? And you know what? I'll go outside today. Maybe me and the girls can hang out. We haven't done that in a while." Twilight said, mostly to herself. "Okay, Twi. As long as you get some fresh air... and, maybe some more diamonds? Please, please, please, please?" "Fine." Twilight said, rolling her eyes and smiling at her assistant's request. As she trotted outside into the warm rays of summer she took a big whiff of the crisp, clean air. I can't believe I stayed inside that long. the weather's perfect! she thought while making her way to Sugarcube Corner. "Wait, where am I going?" Said Twilight aloud, looking up to find herself at the doorstep of Pinkie's home and workplace. Twilight nervously stood there for a few moments. I wonder what Rainbow Dash is up to? she thought quickly before turning around and going to find Rainbow. The ''Cutie mark Crusaders'' were grouped up in their club house near Sweet Apple Acres, trying to figure out what they were going to do for the afternoon. "Maybe we could go ice-skatin'!" Shouted an excited Applebloom. "Where are we gonna find ice when it's this warm out? Maybe we should go bungee-jumping!" Replied Scootaloo. "Or we could make a love potion." Sweetie Belle suggested, trying not to seem 'too' enthused by the idea. "Another one?" Scootaloo asked. "Didn't it go, like, super wrong last time?" "Yeah, but..." Sweetiebelle began. "But nothin'! We ain't settin' two ponies up again! It just made everypony mad at us "Yeah, and we didn't even get out cutie marks for it!" exclaimed Scootaloo, irritated with the idea of trying to attempt match making when it already failed so badly the first time. "B-but, my sister...She's so devastated. The mare she loves doesn't love her back! Not to mention we might get our cutie marks for this if it actually works this time" Sweetie Belle stated trying get her friends on board with the idea. "Really? Who does she like?" Asked Apple Bloom. "Well, she likes Twilight." Sweetiebelle said. "Seriously? Twilight? But she's such an egghead. What about Rainbow Dash? She's cool, awesome, funny, nice and can do anything Twilight can do. Only one hundred and twenty percent cooler. I thought for sure that everypony loved Rainbow. Not Twilight." Scootaloo said. "Well, I don't know! You ask her." Said Sweetie Belle. "So... are we all on board with the love potion idea?" "Yeah, I suppose so. It better get us our cutie marks this time though." Scootaloo warned "Yep." replied Apple Bloom "Okay!" Squealed Sweetie Belle excitedly. In the skies of Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was practicing her new flying trick. The first part of the trick was a triple loop in mid-air, then to fly grass length away from the ground zig-zagged for three seconds, after that she'd shoot up into the sky as fast as she could, making a rainboom and flying straight to the ground, stopping at just the right time so she didn't hurt herself, and landing on her hooves. She'd almost got the hang of it, as she'd been practicing this for three days to impress Twilight for the next time she could see her. I can just imagine the look of Twi's face when she sees me do this new trick. She'll be so amazed that she'll just have to go out with me when I ask her! Heck, maybe she'll be so impressed she'll ask me! The cyan pegasus thought to herself while practicing on the trick for about the hundredth time today. After three more tries she finally got it. She would practice more, but she was achy, tired and parched. So she sat on the nearest bench she could find and started to drink her juice box that was waiting for her inside her saddlebags down on the ground. Why can't everything stand on clouds? She thought grumbling a little before starting to drink it. Rainbow took a big sip from the juice box as Twilight walked up behind her. "Hello Rainbow!"Twilight cheerfully said. Rainbow spit out her juice and turned around at the sound of her crushes voice, and flew up in the air. "Hey...Twilight..." Rainbow said as casually as she could manage. "So...I was just practicing a new trick and I was wondering if you could, like, watch or something, and tell me what you think of it?" "Okay, Rainbow! I'd be happy to!" Twilight sat down and watched Rainbow smiling. Rainbow started sweating with nervousness. She didn't realize how tense she'd be when Twilight watched her. Not to mention she's only done the trick perfectly once. 'Oh well' Rainbow thought. "You ready for this, Twilight?" Rainbow shouted down to her friend, who nodded vigorously. "Here goes." Rainbow whispered to herself as she began her trick.
