//------------------------------// // Sequence: One. Chapter: Two // Story: Point Fifty // by ColoradoBlueJay //------------------------------// "I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry, n.d. Desmond thought about his decision to a point of a headache. "I can go back to Connor and continue his journey or I can see what this pony assassin can give me." He made his verdict and walked over to Rebecca. "Oh hey Desmond are you ready to go back to Connor?" she asked with uncertainty in her voice. Desmond situated himself on the animus. "No, take me to Azure." Rebecca sighed and sat down at the animus' controls. The machine hummed and which in turn put Desmond into a deep sleep. Azure walked down Canterlot's dark streets. He did not wear his normal assassin robes he would have, but rather had a white flowing cape to hide his cutie mark. He carried a gold and silver dagger underneath the white under garment. "Good evening Azure, how's everything going?" greeted a guard. "Fairly well captain Strong wind, as for you?" Captain Strong wind smiled. "Oh the usual, just standing here all day with nothing to do." Azure nodded and entered the castle grounds. Rich and luscious green life was every where. A few birds chirping and the toads croaking near the running river. "What a sight." said Desmond. It wasn't till Azure reached a tall door that had opened magically by itself. Another alicorn greeted Azure by the door, but this one was a midnight blue instead of white. Azure respectively bowed to the alicorn before him. She smiled. "Salutations princess Luna." "marvelous evening to you Azure, may we discuss whatever it may be you wanted my "input" on?" "Yes of coarse princess, do you have somewhere more private we may discuss?" "I do. So would you please follow me." Azure followed the moon goddess down the white marble hallways of the castle. It wasn't long before they came to a stop in front a black door with a crescent moon symbolized on it. The doors swung open and revealed a whole other hallway; more dark and gothic in its own way. From there the two entered into another room that appeared to be some sort of library. Luna fluffed a pillow and resumed to sit on it. She poured a cup of tea and motioned to Azure for some. He waved it off with his hoof. "So what is it that you wanted to speak of?" Azure scratched his chin and cleared his throught. "I know this may be a sensitive subject for us to dis.........." "I'm terribly sorry Azure, but we will not give you any information as to where the two elements are, hence we have not many clues." "Princess Luna, please hear me out," She narrowed her frown. "I am not from any of the company's searching for the elements." "How can I be certain." Azure looked closely into her eyes. "Please princess I need any information that you may have, the sake of Equestria rest on it." "Please explain." she simply stated. "I have reason to believe that one certain company will find them and use the element's power to do un-imaginable things." She seemed rather distraught after Azure said that. She started to tremble a bit, but still had her eye's fixated on Azure's. "Princess are you alright?!" she gasped suddenly fell down to the floor. Behind her was another pony with a blow tube. The assailant ran towards a window but was forced to the ground by a eight inch dagger stuck in the back of his neck. Turning Azure rushed to aid the princess. He pulled out a small vile and let the lunar princess sip from it. Azure felt her head. The temper started to go away and restore to its previous state. Some guards rushed in and helped the princess to her hooves. They were walking out when Luna stopped them. "Go to Ponyville, and find the librarian Twilight Sparkle." She coughed and continued her way out. Azure turned to the dead body on the floor. He plucked the dagger out of the assailant's neck and wiped the blood off on the crimson coat of the dead pegasus. Swiftly Azure placed the dagger inside his under-garment and proceeded out of the castle. Azure trotted down the street and barged into his house in a hurry. His wife seemed appalled by the way he just entered and ran up the stairs. Quickly he threw his clothes off and replaced them with his robes, then bandolier and pistol. His sword came next as he strapped it on. Next he placed his steel grey assassin bracers and checked if they operated correctly. Satisfied with his equipment he placed the hood over his head and proceeded back down stairs. His wife wore an angry expression. "I'm sorry Snowdrop but I must leave." He said as she kissed him. "Please be careful." she said staring into his eyes with a worried look. "As the same for you my love." He kissed her on the head and rushed back out the door. The streets were couldn't of have been more silent as Azure ran down the streets. Some one called for help. Azure turned his attention to the plea. He saw a mare being robbed by a bigger stallion. He was in a hurry so he had no time to engage the stallion. He brought to bear his pistol and with a ear splitting crack; the stallion dropped dead and the mare jumped up in the air and ran away. He placed the gun powder pistol back into its respectful harness without reloading it. It took him a while to reach the train station, but not with a moment to spare. The long locomotive engine pulled into the station letting out a load hiss. Azure went up to the ticket window and placed his bits on the counter. The stallion gave him a look before giving Azure the train ticket. He took the ticket and boarded the train. It was quiet, just the way he liked it. He took a seat and looked out the window. The steam rose from the ground obscuring his vision slightly. But in the mist of that he thought he saw Templar. He blinked but saw nothing there. "It seems that rest would come in handy." He removed the hood off his head and closed his eyes. The train rolled out of the station giving a long whistle. The train rode along at a steady pace and barely ever shaking from the tracks. Azure awoke from his slumber and looked back out the window. The sun was already rising and spread a dim light across the valley. The train screeched to a stop at the Ponyville station. He was first one off and trotted on past the main gates and out into the town of Ponyville...
