//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: Crazy About Apples // by Silentpegasus //------------------------------// Epilogue Gear was sitting at his desk in his study, he had just finished writing his latest novel. He looked back at the last page and smiled. Applejack was standing in the door way with an annoyed look on her face. “Are yah done yet Mr. Fancy Author?” she said with a grin. “Almost. Just need one more minute.” “Well hurry it up, soups on the table and Rusty is waiting.” she said as she trotted out of the room. Gear gave her a smile, he stared back at the final page of his story and- “DAD! WHERE ARE YOU? I’M STARVING!” a small voice yelled from the bottom of the stairs. Gear got to his hooves and trotted out of the room, he made his way out of the small room and made his way down stairs. He saw Applejack waiting patiently along with a dark orange colt with a dark brown mane. “Finally! Geez dad we’ve been waiting for ever!” he whined. “Sorry just finishing the book.” he said as he began to eat. “What’s this one about? Is it another Axel Rider adventure?” the colt asked with anticipation. “No. This is a romance story, about how a Psych patient falling in love with a farmer.” Applejack’s face lit up. “Where did you come up with a crazy scenario like that?” “Your Aunt Rarity thought of it one day at the spa.” Applejack said as she winked at her husband. “Figures. She always liked the mushy stuff. You should write more action stories!” “Okay, we may need to cut back the amount of time he spends with Rainbow.” he said with a chuckle. “NO! Aunt Rainbow is awesome, plus Spectrum and I-” he shut his mouth as he blushed. “What about Rainbow’s daughter?” Applejack asked as she eyed the colt. “N-nothing....I gotta go do my homework, bye!” he said as he galloped out of the room. Gear looked over at Applejack with a laugh. “That’s what I call a plot twist.” “Don’t use your fancy writing terms on me mister!” she said as she pointed a hoof at him. “But a twist is one of the best plot’s of all time.” “Really?” “Well....there is one plot that’s better.” he said with a grin. “Oh really? Do ah know it?” she said with a seductive look in her eye. “Maybe, should we read it again?” “Read mah mind.” the two ponies wrapped their hooves around each other. “So what’s the title of this new book?” “Apple Crazy.” he said as AJ started to laugh. “What? It’s a good title.” “It’s so cheesy.” “Hey...don’t lie. You like cheesy stories.” he said as he looked at her with a smug grin. “Ah know, that’s why your with me.” she gave him a kiss. “Sheesh. Can’t you two get a room?” the two ponies looked up to see Rusty and a blue pegasus mare with a white mane making the gagging face. “Hey Spectrum, Rusty here was talking about yah at dinner tonight.” Applejack said as Spectrum and Rusty’s faces turned crimson. “MOM!” Rusty bellowed with the blush still present on his face. “How did you even get in here Spectrum?” Gear asked. “Through the window, duh.” she said as she flapped her wings. “And why did you come over here?” Gear said with a smile. Spectrums face turned crimson. “Um.......I was just.........um.......” she stuttered. Her eyes fell upon the orange colt who was staring at her with a bright red face. “I gotta go!” as she turned her nose collided with Rusty’s, the two jumped in surprise and hurried back up stairs. Applejack and Gear stood there with a grin on their faces. “Now that’s a plot twist!” Applejack said with a laugh. Gear hugged the mare and trotted up the stairs of their room. “Wait, I wanna check something.” he said as the two got to the top of the stairs, he sneaked his way over to his son’s room and opened it just enough to make out the shape of two ponies kissing. Gear backed away from the door and started to snicker. “What’s so funny?” Applejack asked in confusion. “Let’s just say I may write another romance book.” he said as the two entered their bed room. “Well then, ah’ll help you with the first chapter.” she said as she led him over to the bed and brought him into a kiss. “Alright then, how should I start it out then?” “Like this.” she said as she kissed him passionately and turned off the light on their night stand. Later that evening Gear got to his hooves and walked into his study, he picked up the last page and grinned at his work of art. I dedicate this book to the my wife Applejack, my son Rusty and a stallion who’s been like a brother to me. You know what they say, two mind’s are better than one. He set the last page on top of the others and rejoined his wife in bed, he snuggled up next to her and held her in his hooves. Sleep took him and like all the night’s since that fateful day he’s slept in peace. Fin.
