Neon Lop: Daring Do

by NeonLopThePegasi

The Suggestion

Neon fluttered her sun-colored wings, about to fly. Sweat dribbled down her forehead, she hadn't even completed Flight School yet. Cheerilee would get on to her about this, complaining about her safety. She took a couple of looks from left to right. No one was there. She then took off. She grinned happily.

A pouch strapped to the side of her flapped in the wind, it was as if it was making a threat that it would detach from her side and blow off somewhere in the distance.

She had a brown hat and a pair of goggles that had a dark blue rim and a purple lens.

She coughed a she either swallowed a bug, or a bird feather managed to linger into her mouth. It was possible at the speed she was going. She was now miles away from Ponyville, Cloudsdale, and any other known place in Equestria.

It was too good to be true. Almost too good to be real but good enough to be a dream. . . .

Dash soon brought her back to reality with a cruel prank.

SPLASH!

A water balloon hit her face as she was cruelly interrupted from her daydream. She was looking out her window with a scrunched face. An angry scream rang out of the window. "Rainbow Dash," she slowly, but loudly screamed. Dash snickered and flew towards the pegasi's window.

"What's up, squirt junior?" Dash said stopping her laughs momentarily and then laughed more. "I'm bored. Can you help?" Neon looked up at Dash's grinning face as water obscured her vision for a second.

"Maybe you can read this book," Dash handed Neon a book titled, Daring Do: The Golden Tree. "Twilight suggested I read it." Dash's face developed a nervous look as Neon smirked.

"You, read?" Neon smirked as she asked the question. "No! I didn't read it. But, since you're a reader, I thought you'd like to read it." Dash said.

Neon slowly took the book with a questioning look. Was this a prank? Neon thought. Or was she actually suggesting for me to read an actual book?
~~~
The next day, Neon was so interested in the book, she ignored the sound of knocking on her door. Her mother trotted to the door and took the latch in her mouth and pulled the door open. Dash was standing in the entrance.
She then spoke. "I'm here to see squirt- I mean Neon Lop," she said. Neon's mother backed out of the doorway and silently suggested that she should come in.
Dash then walked up to Neon who was laying on a rug by the fireplace reading the Daring Do book. "Hey, squirt junior. I need to return that book back to the library, right now."
The words echoed in Neon's head. "No!! Th-thi- I- I- I never finished the book," She screeched in terror.
~~~
"Alright, squirt junior," Dash chuckled. "Give it up," she extended her hoof out to Neon.

Neon gave Dash one look then took the book and flew out the open door. "Oh goodness!" Neon's mother screeched.Dash darted out of the door too, chasing to little pegasaus.

Neon darted as fast as she could, passing Cheerilee who gave her a shocked look.

"Come back, squirt ju-," Dash tried to continue her sentence, but she swallowed a HUGE bug. Neon turned back anxiously to see if she was still being chased. To her suprise, there was a coughing and gagging Rainbow Dash.

"What? Am I too fast for you," Neon teased playfully. "I knew you weren't perfect, but this? Come on, I expect more from you, RD." Dash gave Neon an angry look. Dash flew up to the air swiftly and quickly, and came down like a jet with a rainbow beaming from behind her.

"Oh no," Neon said. "The sonic rainboom!" She said. Whenever Dash did the sonic rainboom, it seemed to blow up in Neon's face. Literally. Neon knew that Dash was doing this on purpose to teach her a lesson. She couldn't help but stop and stare. Neon stared at the blue, gracefully flying pegasaus.

When Dash finally reached the ground, Neon came back to reality. "Agh!" Neon screeched as Dash hit the ground. The force of the rainbow that hit the ground with her made all of Equestria jump!

As soon as Dash recovered, she ran after the partially shocked and partially amazed. Dash ran up and grabbed the book from the dazed Neon. "Huzzah!" Dash stood up on her hind legs with the book in one of her hooves as angel ponies sang in the backround.

Everypony stared at her with a questioning look. "...What is wrong with you?" A voice rang out from the crowd. A chorus of of other vpices joined in.

....

It was quiet. . .WAY TOO quiet

"Miss Dash. I need to have a talk with you." It was Princess Celestia. "I'm dead,' Dash mumbled as she trotted towards Celestia. She turned to look at Neon, who had a 'do noot blame me look. Dash glared at her and mouthed the words while she was walking 'I am going to get you for this'.

"Celestia, I can explain. I was chasing Neon because she had this book and. . ." Celestia gave her one of those silent 'shut up' looks. Dash turned to see that everyone was giving her that 'I think she's mentally insane' looks. Neon just had a blank expression.

"Okay, what's with all the looks?' Dash shouted. Celestia scolded her and Neon had enough time to escape and hide near a bridge. She kept on reading to herself.

Daring Do was placing her hooves gently on the glass sculpture of some type of gem. She swiftly removed the the gem while placing a sack of coins on the table-like platform. "Hah!" Daring said as she place the gem in her saddlebag. The roof begin to shake violently. The wall behind her began to rise, not seeing an opening, Daring ran. She was right to do that because a boulder came out of the opening. As huge as the castle stacked up three times!

Dash came running and took the book in her mouth. "Hah!' Dash said as she took the book in her mouth, only to find that she had ripped a page! "Well," Neon said. "It's all yours now," she said as Celestia came from behind Dash and Neon darted like a fish back home.

"Dash." Celestia's voice rose in the utter silence. "What did you do to my book? And why is it late," Celestia sked.
