//------------------------------// // The birth of the King // Story: Flutterdash's son // by cremen01 //------------------------------// As Fluttershy and I sat together, our hands tightly clasped, a wave of emotions washed over us. We were about to experience a life-changing moment, Fluttershy was having our baby and we knew we couldn't face this alone. So we reached out to our closest friends, the ones who had always been there for us, for their unwavering support. We couldn’t get to Fluttershy’s room, so we decided that Fluttershy would give birth on the couch in the living room. With hope and anticipation in my heart, I called up Pinkie Pie. Her bubbly voice on the phone was just what we needed to calm our nerves. "Hey, Pinkie! Long time no talk! How are you doing?" I said, trying to sound as casual as possible. "Hey, Dashie! Oh my gosh, it's been like, forever! I'm doing great, thanks for asking. How about you?" Pinkie replied, her voice full of excitement. "I'm good, Pinkie. Listen, Fluttershy and I need your help with something really important. Could you come over as soon as possible?" I asked, my heart racing. "Of course, silly! Anything for my favourite friends! What's the matter?" Pinkie asked. I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. "Fluttershy and I are expecting a baby, and we need your help calling the others to assist us with the delivery," I told Pinkie, my voice filled with excitement and nervousness. Pinkie's eyes widened with excitement, her mouth forming a smile of pure delight as she heard the news. "OH MY GOSH, THAT'S AMAZING!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her enthusiasm. "I'd love to help you guys! When is the little guy coming?" Her eagerness to be a part of the experience was palpable in her voice, and she couldn't wait to lend a hand. Fluttershy's grip tightened around my hand as her labour progressed. Her forehead was covered in beads of sweat, and her voice, strained with pain, whispered urgently, "Dashie, he's coming!" I could sense the urgency in her tone and knew that time was of the essence. Without wasting a moment, I called Pinkie and pleaded with her to come over as soon as possible. "The baby's coming now, Pinkie. We need you here ASAP. Please call the others and ask them to come too!" I spoke with a sense of urgency, knowing that every second counted. "Okay, we'll be there before you can say 'a milkshake with gummy bears'," Pinkie replied, her voice filled with excitement and anticipation. "I can't believe this is happening. I'm gonna be Auntie Pinkie. Wheeeeee!" As I ended the call, I suddenly remembered that my parents were still in the room, their presence unnoticed amidst the chaos of the moment. "I'm sorry, Mum, Dad, I completely forgot that you were still here. I thought that you had left already." Dad stood up and spoke first, his eyes filled with warmth and kindness. "Are you kidding? We would never miss the chance to help you guys with the birth." Soon after, a gentle knock came from the door. As I opened it, I was greeted by the smiling faces of my closest friends, Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, and Sunset Shimmer. Their presence was a welcome relief amidst the tension of the moment. "Thank you for coming to help us, guys. Your support means more than you could ever imagine." "Of course, my dear," Rarity exclaimed. "I would never pass up the opportunity to assist in welcoming our sweet little nephew into the world!" "You betcha, partner," Applejack chimed in with a grin. All of a sudden, we heard a scream coming from the couch, "DASHIE, HE'S COMING!" Without a second thought, we rushed to Fluttershy’s side on the couch. We found Fluttershy in the final stage of labour, while we were afraid about what would happen to the baby and Fluttershy, we were all there to support her and welcome the new arrival with open arms. "Don't worry, Fluttershy," Applejack said, "we're here to help with the delivery." "T-t-thank y-you," Fluttershy said through laborious breath. I held Fluttershy's hand and after my parents left for some reason, Rarity assigned Pinkie to hold the baby when he came out. My parents left after the third hour of labour, “so much for loyal parents” I muttered under my breath. The labour was long, lasting for several hours. It was an experience that tested our limits, but our determination never wavered. Fluttershy's screams echoed through the house as we all worked tirelessly to bring the new life into the world. It was a moment of pure magic, as a brilliant flash of yellow light erupted from Fluttershy and filled the room. When the light faded, and our eyes adjusted, we saw Pinkie holding a light blue-skinned baby in her arms. It was a moment of joy and wonder, and we were all grateful to have been a part of it. I looked at Fluttershy who had tears of joy in her eyes and she looked at Pinkie. Pinkie cleaned the baby and wrapped him in a towel to make him clean and surprisingly, he didn’t have an umbilical cord attached to him, which was a surprise to us all. "Pinkie, can I hold my baby, please?" Fluttershy asked in a whisper. "Of course, Fluttershy." Pinkie walked over to her and gently placed the baby into her arms. Me and Fluttershy looked down at our little bundle of joy in her arms and I gently leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. “It’s a boy,” I said with tears of joy in my eyes. "What should we name him?" Fluttershy asked me, and I answered with a smile. "Let's call him Oscar. Our nickname for him will be our little prince." As soon as I said ‘our little prince’ the baby started cooing and looked at us with bright green eyes. I picked up the baby from Fluttershy’s arms and put him on my chest so that he could get the milk from my breasts. I wonder what will be in store for us now that we have a child in our lives.
