//------------------------------// // Chapter Forty Eight // Story: Save The World, Duh! // by TheKing2001 //------------------------------// Fluttershy I rested my hands on the ground in front of me as Rarity adjusted the collar of Lyra’s jacket. Footsteps made me glance up as Blueberry Cake and Tennis Match sat in front of me. I didn’t know the fashionista or athlete that well but they seemed nice. “We really liked those songs,” Blueberry said finally as she played with her sunglasses. “Super moving!” Tennis Match chimed in with a small smile. “I noticed Trixie had a lot of lines. Just circumstance or?” “Circumstance,” Trixie said instantly as she smoothed down the dress Rarity gave her. “Trixie asked for them. She originally wanted to salute but she felt that would be disrespectful so she refrained from it.” “Makes sense,” Blueberry admitted as she rubbed the back of her neck. “Wanna hang out with me and Tennis sometime, Trixie?” “Why?” Trixie asked incredulously as she looked at them. “Don’t you think Trixie is an annoying braggart?” “No,” Tennis answered with a smile. “It’s an act for your show. Obviously.” “Trixie appreciates it,” Trixie nodded slightly. “Trixie will consider it. She is a busy girl.” “We understand,” Blueberry nodded slowly. “You uh lose anyone? In you know?” “No, Trixie did not. Trixie’s friends sat down and watched a lot of footage from that day to be as accurate and respectful as possible. She and her friends fully believe it is a good cause to spread the message because those who died cannot spread their story. Trixie fully believes there is no greater love than laying down ones life for another.” I made nervous eye contact as the two other girls eyes widened. I will admit, I never knew Trixie was this way until I got to know her. She always came of as well loud and rude, which I didn’t like for obvious reasons. Loudness hurts my head and rude is well rude. “We plan to have guitars in the background, a piano and a violin in the complete versions for both songs,” I said quietly. “I love violins,” Blueberry sighed contently as a loud scream startled us. We all glanced up at a floating girl and Trixie screamed. “Gaia Everfree!” “Gloriosa?” Timber asked worriedly as he stepped forward. “What have you done?” “That’s Gloriosa?” Applejack asked in shock as we all stared at the floating girl. “Where is my girlfriend?” Derpy demanded as Lavender and Rainbow pulled her back worriedly. “Gah!” The three fell over when a large vine knocked them over. “I have waited for the day to send this greedy wolf away. Now the magic is my salvation. Gather close in my protection. We will stand for Everfree,” Gloriosa sang as a large wall of branches surrounded the camp. We all jumped behind a canoe as Derpy and the others ran. “Why do bad things only happen to us?” I asked in frustration. A wall of brambles enveloped the gazebo Trixie and a few others had taken shelter in. “Trixie!” Lavender shouted as Fuchsia and herself ran to where Trixie was. “We hold the beauty of nature and all its glory. No need to fear the vultures at the door. Right here you have me to protect you. Within these walls of thorns Forever free, forevermore!” Gloriosa shouted as Derpy hid behind Celestia and Luna with Octavia as Gloriosa stroked Starlights chin before she fled. “The others are going to just teleport out or something,” Rainbow muttered. “The shadowbolts already got captured. Fluttershy, take Lyra and Bon Bon to the edge. We got to get them out so they can get us help. Applejack, help Sonata by trying to destroy the tree branches. Rarity, Lightning, try to save as many people as you can. Pinkie, Sea Swirl, blow up the trees. I’ll try to get as many people as I can too.” “You got it!” Lightning exclaimed as she pressed a hand to the ground before taking off, leaving a trail of gold and green behind her. She dragged a screaming Rarity behind her. “They have come into our domain. Here to seal our camp in chains. But we have held it for generations. This is just a complication. We will stand for Everfree.” I tapped the ground and a few animals dug up from the ground, looking at me expectantly. “Uhm hello there gorgeous creatures,” I said softly as I ponied up. “Can you dig up a hole so my friends can get help?” “I’m not leaving,” Lyra said adamantly and slammed her foot on the ground. “I’m staying.” “You have to,” I insisted. “Get help. We will buy you as much time as we can. Go!” “Fine,” Lyra muttered as she and Bon Bon forced smiles. I tumbled backwards as vines shot out of the hole as Lyra, Bon Bon and another classmate were trapped by the branches. “Well this sucks,” I muttered as a rainbow blur picked me up. “Trust in me, this is for your own good. Don’t be afraid, nature is our friend. All of this beauty that surrounds us. Every lovely bloom designed to defend,” Gloriosa sang as she climbed on a bird bath. That made me upset, now the birds bathing area is gone. “Oof!” Lightning grunted as a tree branch tripped her. “Fuck,” Rainbow cursed under her breath. “At least Scootaloo and the other kids are on the other side of the camp with Cheerilee so they are fine.” “For now!” Applejack called out as she pushed Rarity to the side. “Save it, Rarity!” “Let them come, just let them try. I’m not about to say goodbye. This camp will be here throughout the ages. Written into the history pages. We will stand for Everfree.” Gloriosa held her hands up as the sun was blocked by her trees and the dock was ripped apart as Rainbow stared at it in anger. “Oh, come on!” Rainbow shouted. “We just got done building that! Again!” “Not the runway!” Rarity pressed a hand to her head and fell backwards. “Dock Rarity, the dock! Not runway, dock!” “Wherever Sunset and Twilight are, I hope they’re having more luck than us,” Rainbow muttered. I nodded and stepped back nervously. Why do bad things always happen to us?
