Chapter Thirty Five

Lightning

I leaned against my motorcycle on the highway with my phone pressed against my ear.

“Follow Spoiled Rich. Got it,” I said with a grin. “Yes Sunset, no killing. I wasn’t about to shoot her. Just because you have me impersonating a police officer as an intimidation factor doesn’t mean I’ll use my firearm.” It’s good to have friends in high places, especially since grocery stores sell air soft guns. And Coco may or may not have created a police bike uniform.

I glanced out as cars flew by and I spotted a black limo in the distance.

“Here she comes. I’ll call you after,” I said and hung up before climbing onto my bike, quickly putting my helmet on and kicking the kickstand up. I pushed the bike onto the highway behind the limo and grinned faintly to my self. “Always obey traffic laws. And don’t go on the shoulder.” I flicked the lights on as the limo pulled over and I quickly dismounted and kicked the kickstand down. I made sure my easily recognizable hair was hidden and approached the car.

“Hello officer,” the driver rolled down the passenger window after I knocked on it.

“Trooper Shadow with the Highway Patrol. I’m pulling you over because you crossed over on the shoulder and cut off a semi back there. License, registration and proof of insurance please,” I said sternly and pushed my cop glasses up. I actually really did want to be a cop so this was a dream come true.

“Here you go,” the man handed me the information as I glanced in the back. Spoiled glared back at me as she sipped a wine glass.

“What are you looking at?” Spoiled snapped angrily as I narrowed my eyes.

“Watch your tone. I can make this traffic stop into a whole scene if I want to,” I threatened. “Actually step out of the vehicle. Both of you.”

“Fine but I want a supervisor,” Spoiled grumbled as she and the driver got out.

“I am the supervisor,” I said gruffly as I forced Spoiled to put her hands on the back of the car. “Got anything on ya?”

“No,” she muttered as the driver started recording with his phone.

“Put that away sir!” I stepped away and placed my hand on my gun. “Just sit near my bike.”

“I’m recording if you assault Miss Rich,” the driver said and I rolled my eyes. I stepped forward and yanked the phone out of his hand, tossing it onto the highway where it got ran over by a truck.

“Oops,” I shrugged with a frown. “Guess you dropped it while driving. Now back to you.” I stepped back to Spoiled and started patting her down. I looked at the driver before slipping a gloved hand into my pocket and slipping a baggie in hers.

“Are you done yet? I have a manicure appointment to get to!”

“What’s this?” I asked and held up the baggie and shaking it for her to see. “Weed is illegal in Canterlot, unfortunately. Any amount is jail time.” I leaned in closer to her ear. “But I’m willing to let it slide if you do me a favor.”

“What?” Spoiled asked nervously as she glanced at me. I may have planted the drugs on her but I think she actually had some of hers in the car.

“Stay the fuck away from Diamond Tiara, stay away from Silver Spoon and Sunset. Or else,” I threatened angrily in a low tone. “I won’t kill you, I don’t do that unless the situation calls for. Which in my opinion it does, but I’m trying to be less violent. Don’t let me see you around Canterlot again, ya feel me?”

“Yes.”

“Oh and it’s illegal to have an open container in the vehicle. Even in the back where the driver can have easy access,” I said quietly with a smile. “It would be a shame to have your driver get in trouble. Then you would have to drive yourself around for once, you lazy fuck.”

“Hmph!” Spoiled grumbled as I gestured for them to get in car. “I’ll find a way.”

“What was that?” I demanded as I spun around. I tossed the papers into the passenger seat and they were shoved into the glove box.

“Nothing!” I narrowed my eyes more as she nervously got in the car. I faintly identified a highway patrol car on the median watching us and I ignored the sweat dripping off my chin. The driver pulled out onto the highway, quit recklessly in my opinion as the police car instantly pulled them back over as I laughed. Thank God he hadn’t been there when I threw the phone.

“Dumbasses,” I muttered as I watched the officer approaching the passenger side and pulled my phone out. “Hey, it’s me. It’s done. Meet me at Sugarcube Corner in a hour and a half so I get changed and rip the decals off my bike. And the police lights.”

“Oh you should have seen her!” I laughed and leaned back in my chair. “She looked like she was about to piss herself.”

“I hope you wouldn’t actually frame someone if you do become a police officer love,” Octavia frowned at me as she stirred her vanilla and oreo shake. “Most unbecoming.”

“Of course not!” I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “I’m serious about joining one day. Did I ever tell you the time Aria and I hit a small store in town and donated all the money to charity?”

“No the fuck?” Rainbow demanded and glared at me.

“The point of the story is, sometimes it calls for doing what’s wrong to do what’s right. Sure, the charity we donated to most likely could have got the money but a kid needed that medicine. So we helped out so to speak,” I said and waved a hand dismissively. “Nobody was hurt. We specially tried to avoid hurting people. If that kid knew we played a part in saving his life, he’d be grateful. Do you really think his family cares where the money came from?”

“I guess not,” Sunset admitted with a blank expression. “I don’t like doing this. Felt wrong.” I agreed with her there. I always used to think wrong and right was a very grey area.

“I know,” I admitted. “Same here. This isn’t you know. While Spoiled is awful, she’s just a stuck up bitch. And I got to play police officer! Dream come true. If I never get to join, I’ll always have this memory. So thank you.”

“Do you think she took your warning seriously though?” Rainbow asked worriedly as she ate a cherry. “She has connections everywhere. Even though most abandoned her because of her child abuse case, money is a strong motivator.”

“I don’t know. I hope she did.” I had already told them about what I overheard Spoiled say before she got in the car. It was a bit worrying for us all. Especially Cheerilee and Sunset. Though if I was Spoiled, I’d think twice before messing with them. Sunset is pretty territorial about her family.

“Me too,” Sunset leaned forward in her chair. “If she even lays a finger on their heads, I’ll get violent and make sure she’s never found.”

“That’s my job,” I joked as we all laughed quietly. “Joking. I’m trying to be less aggressive.”

“You’re doing well so far love.”

My three companions nodded as I sighed contently. Maybe being a less grey area person and a better person wasn’t so bad after all. It worked for Sunset, it should work for me.

“Sooo,” Rainbow said with a grin. “Still think Labor Day is for mothers?”

Sunset scowled at her as we started laughing and Octavia wore a faint smile.

“Taking a page from Spitfires book, I’m going to beat you.”
