//------------------------------// // Chapter Twenty Three // Story: Save The World, Duh! // by TheKing2001 //------------------------------// Derpy I sat on the floor as Lavender, Vinyl and Twilight gave me stunned looks as I sipped my milkshake we had brought with us from Sugarcube Corner. “So hold on hold on. Let me get this straight,” Vinyl said as she waved her hooves around the air. “Sunset asked you to marry her, the person you have been dating for God knows how long, the person you have drove me up the wall when you talk about her and you said no. Are you out of your mind?” “I didn’t say no per se,” I argued as Vinyl ate a cherry from her shake. “I just said we should wait. She suggested the two of us run off to Los Vegas and get married. Plus copious amounts of alcohol was suggested. None of you guys would probably be there and besides, she did say later that night she wanted our friends back home to be there.” “Plus Derpys mom would want Sunset to ask for permission like those annoying old fashioned people love,” Lavender said and rolled her eyes. “That too,” I conceded with a nod. “Sunset and I did exchange promise rings the other night though if that makes you feel better. Mine is a light grayish gold like my skin and eyes.” “I could officiate a wedding you know,” Twilight said casually as she twirled a straw in her magic. “Princesses automatically gain that power. I did have to take a course and all like the others did for paperwork reasons. Cadence would flip her lid out of pure happiness in all honesty.” “Maybe,” I shrugged and climbed to my hooves. “I did tell her to ask me when we are adults and I’d say yes.” “Technically you’d be an adult when you’re both eighteen,” Vinyl said with a smirk as she eyed me. “This is an Octavia or Bon Bon conversation to be honest.” “I left it open for her interpretation,” I smirked as I stretched my wings. “We also have Berry’s and Minuettes wedding in a month and a half. Going to that wedding and then having to plan our own would be a lot of work. Especially after we planned theirs.” “When did you know you were gay by the way? Out of curiosity of course,” Twilight asked and raised an eyebrow. “I’m straight for the record,” I said as they all three looked at each before giving me confused looks. “Uh Derpy?” “Yes Vinyl?” “Sunset’s a girl,” Vinyl pointed out. “Unless there’s something you’re not telling us of course,” Lavender added with a smirk. “She is a girl yes,” I agreed after a moment. “What I meant is she’s the only female I’ve ever been into. Everyone before her had been guys. I’m technically straight just dating someone I like for her well everything. I’m a personality person.” “Where is Sunset anyway?” Twilight asked curiously. “She’s having lunch with Trixie to gauge if Trixie likes Starlight or not,” I said and shrugged. “Starlight asked us to help her get Trixie to date her.” “Why didn’t she ask me for help?” Twilight shouted as her wings flared out. I gulped nervously as she stared at me. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to say that. “Oops?” I stared at the window of the train as it raced down the tracks with a wing wrapped around Sunset and Dinky as Dinky snored quietly. Ruby was peering out the window as she stood on Berry’s head as she fought to keep her face neutral. “I love you Ruby but please get off my head,” Berry said dryly as the filly jumped off sheepishly. “Sorry!” Sunset and I snickered as she turned to me and nuzzled Dinky a few times before yawning. “So how does Trixie feel about Starlight?” I asked curiously as the train entered a tunnel and everything went dark. “Ironically enough, she likes Starlight too. So we just have to get them to tell each other. I didn’t outright tell Trixie, I just suggested she talk to Starlight about it,” Sunset explained with a smirk. “So out of our friends back home, who do you think would be into the same gender?” “Hmm,” I hummed and rubbed my chin with a hoof. “I can see Rosie being bi. Daisy and Lily are straight, same with Cloudchaser and Flitter. Blossom and Kicker are involved last time I heard. Rainbow would be gay, Pinkie would be bi, Fluttershy is straight, Rarity and Applejack are straight. Raindrops is most definitely straight. Plus Diamond and Bloom are seeing each other right?” “Right,” Sunset agreed as she shook Dinky awake. “We’re here. Wake up.” “Where is here?” Dinky muttered as she climbed onto my back before we got off the train. “Crystal Empire. Sunburst lives here so this is the first stop,” Sunset explained as we stepped on the platform and Sunset glowed. “Twilight sent for Spitfire to be here too.” “Why are you glowing?” Cheerilee asked as she covered her eyes with a hoof before glowing as well. “When you come to the Crystal Empire, you become a crystal pony temporarily,” a voice behind us startled me and I spun around. A pink pony with wings and a pretty mane stood behind us with a smile. “Princess Cadence,” Sunset said with a nod and knelt down to bow. I watched with wide eyes before hastily mimicking it with the others. “I’ve never seen Sunset act so formal before,” Cherry Berry whispered as she mimicked Sunset. “Neither have I,” Cheerilee whispered as I tipped forward and my eyes widened even more if that was possible. “Waah!” I yelped as a blue glow surrounded me and Cadence smirked. “No need to bow,” Cadence waved a hoof as she levitated me to my hooves. “Welcome to the Crystal Empire. I like to greet all our guests. Especially one with your reputation.” “Thank you Princess,” Sunset bowed her head slightly as she stood back up. “Sunset Shimmer, correct?” Cadence asked neutrally. “Yes Princess,” Sunset answered with a nod. “Please walk with me.” I gave Sunset a confused look as Sunset shrugged before trotting off to catch up with Cadence.
