//------------------------------// // Chapter Seventeen // Story: Save The World, Duh! // by TheKing2001 //------------------------------// Roseluck I yawned and stretched slightly as Lightning followed Starlight and the others quietly through the changeling castle or whatever it was called. Cloudkicker was intently watching Lavender looked back and forth as her tail swished. It was about three am but we kind of all agreed to watch till the end. “I’m not sure how I feel about my cousin going in there,” Cloudkicker muttered as she and Blossomforth hugged. “The way Sunset talked about Equestria was usually sunny and happy. This doesn’t seem very happy.” “I don’t have to listen to a second rate magician. I have a Fluttershy to save!” Discord shouted as his voice echoed through the castle. Trixie and Discord quit arguing as she gave him a dirty look. “Hey dick head!” Lightning hissed angrily as she gave him a flat look. “Next time, why don’t you just wear a bright flashing sign that’s says here we are next time, ya fucking cunt?” Starlight and Fluttershy let out squeaks as Fluttershy covered her mouth. “While I wouldn’t use the language, I agree with her,” Rarity scoffed as she folded her arms. “Why is the portal still showing us what is happening?” Raindrops wondered as she bit into her sandwich. “Sunset was kidnapped. Shouldn’t the spell have stopped?” “I’m guessing the magic of the portal is keeping it going,” Rainbow reasoned as she ate a fry. “Still can’t believe we’re doing nothing to help.” “We all do darling,” Rarity sighed and squeezed her shoulder. “Applejack was right. It’s what Sunset would want,” Daisy sighed and traced a finger on her dress hem. “She’s a better person than me. I’d want to be saved by all my friends.” “I got it!” Twilight shouted as we jumped. “When Sunset cast her spell, she most likely changed the property of the statues magical makeup and changed it to show us what was happening even when she wasn’t actively influencing it.” We all gave her confused looks. “Yeah we’re just going with what I said because it used smaller words,” Rainbow said after a second of blinking and we all laughed as Twilight pouted. “Moving on.” “What if we can see what we want?” Cloudchaser muttered. “Like we say a name.” “Sunset!” Fluttershy said instantly as the portal shifted to presumably a different part of the castle and we all stared in stunned silence at two changelings carrying Sunset wrapped up in some cocoon. Derpy, Lyra, Bon Bon along with the others and the princesses hung from the ceiling in similar cocoons with their eyes closed. “She’s alive, that’s good.” Sunset’s eyes flicked back and forth as she blinked. “Derpy,” Lily whispered nervously as one of the changelings dropped one edge of Sunset’s makeshift prison onto the ground and it cracked. “Careful!” One of the changelings hissed as the rest of them watched. Queen Chrysalis had her back to them as she bossed some other changelings around. “Chrysalis already killed two drones for messing up. I want a long life!” “Sorry!” The changeling said sheepishly as Sunset kicked the green shell off her and we watched in surprise. “Hello there,” Sunset said coldly as she knocked the two changelings off their hooves with her foreleg. “Hey you!” “How?” Chrysalis demanded as she spun around, glaring at the changelings laying on their backs. “Who exactly are you?” “I am Sunset Shimmer,” Sunset proclaimed as she shakily climbed to her hooves. “Daughter of Hearths Warming and Cheerilee, sister of Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon and Scootaloo and element of harmony. My real question is who the fuck are you?” “I am Queen Chrysalis,” Chrysalis announced. “Leader of the changelings.” “You’re uglier up close,” Sunset commented as she approached Chrysalis and the changelings hissed. “And you messed with the wrong bitch.” “No!” Chrysalis shouted and glared at them. “I will deal with this myself!” “Beat her ass Sunset!” Flitter called out as the two slowly circled each other, looking for an opening to attack the other. We had quickly decided that they couldn’t hear us anymore. Most likely due to the spell malfunctioning or something if that could even work. “You should really negotiate a surrender,” Chrysalis said coldly as Sunset examined her. “Does she even know who she’s talking to?” Cloudkicker scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Sunset doesn’t seem like the negotiating type. Especially with how mad she seems right now.” “You kidnapped the princesses,” Sunset said flatly. “And tried to destabilize Equestria. There’s a word for ponies like that where I live, terrorists.” “Okay and?” “Where is she going with this?” Applejack wondered aloud as Sunset smirked and crouched. I didn’t know much about fighting but that was clearly a offensive position. Even to me that was obvious as Rainbow leaned forward eagerly. “And there’s a saying where I live that accurately describes how I feel your suggestion,” Sunset continued as Chrysalis stopped walking. “And what is that?” Chrysalis asked curiously as Sunset’s smirk grew. “We don’t negotiate with terrorists.” Sunset pushed herself forward and slammed a hoof into Chrysalis’ face as the changeling staggered back as Rainbow cheered. “You’ll pay for that,” Chrysalis sneered as a nearby torch on the wall half illuminated Sunset’s cold grin. “I wouldn’t count on it,” Sunset answered as Chrysalis flew at her as the two rolled against the throne room floor. “Oof!” Sunset kicked Chrysalis off her and the queen slammed into the wall. She was a really ugly thing. Sunset was right in that regard. A few of the changelings quit cheering and watched nervously. “You will die here!” Chrysalis screamed furiously as she stood up and kicked Sunset across the room. “I may yes,” Sunset readily agreed as she winced and rubbed her hoof. “Even if I do, there will always be someone to challenge you. May not be in ten years, may not be in a thousand but there will also be somepony like me.” “That’s such a Sunset thing to say,” Rainbow rolled her eyes with a grin. “She’s kicking ass.” “When did she get so wise?” Blossomforth wondered as we watched the two approach each other. “Getting hit by a laser might do that to a person,” Daisy suggested. An uncomfortable silence fell over us as Sunset and Chrysalis launched at each other.
