The Return

Chapter 6

It had been a few hours since Celestia and Jason had returned, despite this, the sun was still shining through the immaculate windows, painted with depictions of great acts. The throne room itself was dead silent, or at least, almost silent. The only sound that could be heard was a squeaky hinge on a certain alicorn’s swivel chair.

Celestia tried to ignore the squeak from the hinge on the chair from the moment he brought it in to the room, but now it was starting to pester her. “Brother, while I am glad that you are enjoying yourself on your swivel chair, are you sure you don’t want a throne built for you?”

“I am more than sure. I can spin around to face the door dramatically whenever someone walks in and say ‘ah yes, I have been expecting you’.” Jason replied with a slightly malicious grin.

“But must you do that every time?” Celestia asked, "You have startled the last three guards who came in here for their shift of guard duty.”

“And it’s fun.” Jason replied honestly

“You are such a colt at times.” Celestia retorted at her brother's foalish acts.

Jason chuckled a little before replying in the most brotherly way possible, “I know.”

Jason went back to spinning around in his swivel chair. Celestia just sighed, but yet smiled. “Some things never change.”

Suddenly, the throne room door burst open. Twilight, with a frazzled up mane and a crazy look in her eyes, ran through with a very confused set of friends including PinkiePie trailing behind.

“Ah yes, I’ve been expecting you, Twilight.”Jason announced as he turned around, revealing that he was wearing a ridiculous looking helmet.

“SEE!?” Twilight exclaimed, “HE IS REAL!”

“Oh damn, my extra defenses weren't enough to stop her. Honestly, I didn't think you'd make it around the floor coated with coconut oil, wait- were you really obsessing over me the entire time? I feel bad for your friends at this point, Twilight.”

Before Twilight could respond to the information that had just been said, a familiar pink pony's voice cut through the air.

“Hii Matty!” PinkiePie chimed.

“Hi PinkiePie!”

Pinkie trotted over and gave him a hoof bump.

“Wait, you know PinkiePie?!” Twilight asked in disbelief that Pinkie would have had any time at all to get to him before she did.

“Everypony knows PinkiePie, and if ya don’t, you will soon. That’s just the rules.” Jason exclaimed excitedly as he pulled out a deck of cards.

“Do you have any sevens?” Pinkie asked

“No, go fish.” Jason replied.

“When did you have the time to start a game of go fish?” Twilight was once again asking in disbelief. The young artificial Alicorn had a look on her face was of both shock and confusion.

“That’s a complicated question Twilight. Time is a weird thing to control, we technically started last Tuesday... or was that next Tuesday?,” Jason asked himself, “now, do you have any eights?

“No, go fish”

PinkiePie and Matt continued their game, they were in the zone, each backed with enough randomness to make a sane creature lose it immediately.

Celestia cleared her throat and turned her attention to the other five mares in her royal throne room, “Well. Though our appointment is scheduled for tomorrow, It appears to me that we could begin today, given our current circumstances and that you have already arrived.”

Celestia took one more glance at the two to her left. Something seemed off, but she couldn’t figure out what. Wait… are they playing go fish with Uno cards?

In an instant, an evil smile showed up on Jason’s face. He stared Pinkie in the eyes as he pulled a card from his hoof. This card was different though. It didn’t say Uno on the back, it said Dos. Pinkie gasped in disbelief. Also, where was that ominous music coming from?

Pinkie countered with a confident smile of her own as she pulled a Tres card from her own hoof.

Matthew stared back in horror. He knew he had been defeated. There was only one thing that could save him now. He placed down his blue eyes white dragon and-

Celestia turned back to the 5 mares still standing in the throne room. All of them were  just as confused at what was happening to their right.

“I flip my frying pan face down and end my turn!”

Celestia just sighed. ‘At least they’re having fun,’

“I floop the pig.”

“Nooooooo!”

‘Even if nopony understands it, they’re having fun.’ Celesta mentally said to herself, almost reassuringly. She took another glance and noticed they were now missing.

‘Where did…. Ah, never mind. At least I can give a clearer insight to to Twilight about her numerous questions.’.

Pinkie and Jason went back to Jason’s room to build a pillow fort. Near instantly, they got to work, but realized something very early on.

“I think we’re gonna need more pillows” Pinkie said, pointing out the obvious, the obvious being that they needed more pillows.

“Hmmm… you’re right. Where can we get that many pillows for cheap?” Jason pondered for a moment. Luckily, Jason quickly thought of a solution, the greatest plan, if you will.

“Actually…. Maybe I could run out to the store real quick. You won’t even notice I was gone.” Jason spoke, not giving the pink party pony any time to respond.

In an instant, the majority of the room’s floor was filled with stacks of pillows.

“Wow, thank took longer than expected” Jason commented to himself.

“But it hasn’t even been a second!” Pinkie exclaimed, inspecting one of the pillows closest to her carefully.

“Maybe for you. I paused time here and went back to homeworld so I could buy pillows in bulk. That did take me a couple hours. Then I came back here and took a nap because world hopping takes a lot of energy. Then I resumed the flow of time.” Jason explained quickly, “But that doesn’t matter now because we have enough pillows to build the fort!”

Both Pinkie’s and Jason’s eyes lit up with foalish excitement as they began construction on the best pillow fort that has ever been.

                                      ~~~~
It was finished. Pinkie and Jason had finished building a massive pillow fort in his room. The two were giggling like they were foals.
“This is awesome!” Jason exclaimed.
“Mmhmm” Pinkie responded.
The two were in the fort, snuggled up with blankets. The two were just there, admiring their work, until multiple things of great importance came to mind.
“Ooooh, we should think of a secret password!" Jason said, "oh, and we need to get snacks too!"
“Hmmm,” Pinkie thought, “what about we make the password ‘cupcakes?’”
“Absolutely! Just needs a finishing touch to it, I'll go get snacks from the cafeteria in the meantime." Jason stated, opening a portal
“And that is as far as I can remember about him. Though be aware, there are many other siblings in my family, and given most memory of them was very long ago, you may take what I have told you with a grain of salt.”
“Wow, that’s so interesting! I wonder how the rest of Equestria would react." Twilight exclaimed with an eager look on her face.
“The rest of Equestria will know in due time, as for now, however, I could get you a book filled with the history from that time period if you wish. It will be sent to the library within a few days.”
“Yes please!” Twilight squeed with joy, eager to acquire  more books and more knowledge
Surveying the room, Celestia could tell that Rarity had wandered off somewhere. Probably to admire the castle or get inspiration from it. Also looks like Fluttershy wandered off to the garden.
She then turned her attention back to Twilight, “I suppose it’s time that we may want to check up on my brother and Pinkie Pie now. Knowing him, he went to his room to build a pillow fort.
“How would you know that?”
Celestia stared off into the distance for a moment. “It’s a  sister’s intuition to know what their brother is doing.”
It was an awkwardly silent walk to Matt’s room. Upon arrival, Celestia could hear giggling from behind the door. Celestia knocked on the door.
“What is the password?” Two voices chimed from behind the door.”
Celestia thought for a moment, recalling Matt’s old passwords. “Is it…..Time rules?”
“Nope.” Pinkie’s voice chirped back
“I got this,” claimed Rainbow Dash, “Is the password Cupcakes?”
“Close.” Jason’s voice came through.
Celestia sighed, pulling out a magically updating book from a small pocket dimension. The book was titled ‘current slang and pop culture’.
As Celestia quickly flipped through the pages, Twilight tried to lean in to see the book’s contents, but Celestia was going too fast. She then looked back at the door.
“Is it Cupcakes69420?”
“Yes,” Jason’s voice spoke in comfirmation, “come in.”
As they came in, they were greeted with the sight of a huge pillow fort, which Matt and Pinkie were presumably inside.
“Exit the fort.” Celestia ordered
“Fine.”
“Okay.”
The sound of many locks being open could be heard from inside the fort. Finally, the two got out of the epic pillow fort. For whatever reason, Pinkie was wearing a top hat and a cooling vest.
Rainbow piped up, “hey Pinkie, what’s with the vest?”
“Oh, nothing to worry about Dashie, it just gets hot in the fort." Pinkie explained
“Are you sure?” Rainbow asked skeptically.
“Yeah! Why would I lie to you?” Pinkie reassured her.
Rainbow stared at the vest for a moment. She then looked into Pinkie’s deep, blue eyes. She also briefly glanced at the top hat.
“Why are you wearing a top hat?”
“Why aren’t you?” Pinkie asked in response.
Rainbow looked around the room, and sure enough, everypony was wearing a top hat. Applejack hat the top hat on top of her stetson.
“Why does everypony have a top hat?” Rainbow asked, confused.
“What top hats?” Jason asked.
“The ones right-,” Rainbow glanced around the room. The only one left with a top hat was Pinkiepie. “Wait, wha-“
“Anyways, I assume you mares got the information you were looking for, right?” Jason inquired, though the question was more directed at Twilight.
“Yep!” Twilight exclaimed, “I got all the information and books I need!
“Well that’s good. We set out for Ponyville today.” The teal Alicorn declared with a determined look.
“Wait, what do you mean by ‘We’?” Twilight inquired, confused as to why the Alicorn planned to come with them.
“The Everfree is just outside the outskirts of Ponyville, which is where I need to be. It would be easier for me if I just came back with you girls.” Jason explained as he packed up a camping backpack.
“Why do you need to go to the Everfree?” Twilight asked in an attempt to learn the Alicorn’s intentions.
“I plan to rebuild the castle and raise a city around it. Quick and simple. Well, maybe not quick, but ya know. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will this city be.” Jason paused for a moment to think, though the others didn’t notice.
Jason then stood up bipedally and put on his backpack. He quickly noticed the shocked expressions of the ponies around him.
“What?” Jason asked the room, confused at their shocked expressions.
Celestia had the courage to speak, “Brother, please, it’s not normal to walk like that here.”
“Fine.” Jason replied, reluctantly getting back on all fours.
“Thank you. I know you may be a bit uncomfortable, but please deal with it for now.”
“Aight.” Jason responded, “All good to go, I guess.” Jason confirmed.
“Can you walk like that, Princess?” Twilight asked curiously.
“Fortunately no, I cannot.” Celestia quickly answered to avoid further questioning about walking bipedally. She shuddered at the though of doing it herself/
“Anyways, are we ready to depart for Ponyville?” The teal Alicorn asked the group, trying the change the subject.
“Well, I guess so,” Twilight responded, “but we have to grab Fluttershy and Rarity first.
“Dawww, but we just finished the pillow fort!” Pinkie pouted, clearly upset that she now had to abandon the best pillow fort in the universe.
“It’s okay. We can build a new one later.” Jason said enthusiastically, already planning to make an even cooler pillow fort. “Aight, enough stalling, let’s go down to the train station already.”
“Not too hasty now, brother," Celestia stopped her brother in his tracks, "you will need an escort. I will send a few guards down with you.”
“Okay. Got it, thanks, Tia!” Jason replied, not wanting to waste any more time
“It is no problem, brother. Now run along, you have a city to build, correct?”
“Yes,” Jason confirmed, “yes I do. I’ll catch ya later!” Jason exclaimed as he began for the exit to the castle.
