A Broken Display Of 'Stars'

Gaining this strange knowledge of an entirely new world unseen by the likes of her through the sounds of the chasm, she sets out to conquer it.

The chasm is divine and she, despite falling for centuries untold, is not dead. Instead, she finds herself quite alive, falling forever.

No light shines through cracks in the abysmal dark that surrounds her; instead, she is surrounded by an impenetrable black. And then suddenly, she sees colors--shapes--figures. They make no sense, but suddenly she is no longer falling through the chasm. From the void around her float words--numbers--symbols of an unknown language; they make no sense but give her hope nonetheless.

"Uhhhhh, I've never been ... uh... much for one thing,... for writing, much less about things pertaining, ... myself, obviously, for obvious reasons, but after reading and writicu- I mean, that is having a reading in front of my, uh.... My face... Uhhh, my own story, for various and obvious reasons ... I uh, I... thought that is I think, that while ruminin-Uhhh Rumination.... Uhhh, I'd try putting my hand at it... that is, on it. _{For various and obvious reasons...}Uhhh, before going any further, I want to make one thing perfectly crystal, that is, uh what those crystals are and those are uhhhh...... clear: I'm not crazy."

Slotted Spoon, our dim-witted pony is agape at the empty journal before him.

Having dictated his thoughts, they now reside scribbled in a small journal he carried with him always. It was written in dark purple ink. He had found the corpse of a featureless creature, and not knowing it was a corpse - being it had no features - saw fit to dip a sharpened stick into its blood as-if, an inkwell, to record his journey through the strange world in which he found himself.

Journal Entry #1

I can hardly wait to meet a new species. I'm sure you could say the same thing about me, it must be new for other creatures to set eyes on me as well. I've never been..._- much for writing, much less about ... myself, but after reading on my own for the first in a long while,.... I thought, ... - I'd try my hand at it. Before going any further, I want to make one thing perfectly - clear: I'm not crazy.

"Uhhh... yyyeee!!!!...." He is soon interrupted by the introduction of a new being. "Oh Celestia!....Uhhhhh, please please please uhhh, with uhhh, for... uh, that is when I- Uh for uh, when I, being of course with certain circumstances, uhhhhhh being what they are and all ehh, eh eh- uhhhhhhh......let me out of here!"

Slotted begins knocking hopelessly on the wall near to him, not knowing that wall was also a corpse, an immense skull mistaken by Slotted Spoon as a substantial rock face.

If he could see this creature, trapped in its invisible cage with some kind of gray ooze dripping down the inside of it, melting its vital organs, he would surely have lost what little of his mind remained. Sternly, the creature bashes its mysterious body upon its shrouded prison and growls, although the air didn't do the growl much justice.

This hideous monster, no doubt, was created by the same omniscience behind the many creatures Slotted Spoon had encountered thus far. Hindering his quest for enlightenment.

Taking a minute, he remembers himself and is not one to fight something he dislikes. Instead, he accepts it, and all things, as part of his experience here.

"Uhhh-Yes." He shivers out in fear and he quickly grabs the lyre by his side but does not dare strum it.

The creature seems to settle after a bit and now, about an inch away from his face, it drools excessively all over its immaculate fur.

Slotted Spoon merely squinted, trying to adjust his eyes to the darkness as the drool pooled over to where he was standing. He slips in a manner, not unlike a stage pratfall and- "W-wh-wh-wh-wh-whooooooaoaaaahhhhh!!!!"

-he plunges into the nearby chasm.
