Spike sighed in memory of the southern belle "Wasn't she wonderful?"
"Focus, Casanova. What's next on the list?" Twilight asked.
Spike clears his throat and replies "Oh, uh, music! It's the last one!"
They hear a birdsong fanfare in the distance, they sneak in a bush and see a pegasus with a cyan coat, magenta eyes, and a rainbow-striped mane and tail. She seemed to be conducting the birds. A bluejay was chirping off-key.
"Okay, stop, stop" the birds stop their song "Excuse me, Mordecai? I mean no offense, but your rhythm is just a little bit off. Now, let's get this back on track. A-one, a-two, a-one two three-"
"Hello!" Twilight suddenly greeted causing Rainbow to scream and bolt upward in fear, causing her bird choir to flee.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten your birds. I'm just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful." Twilight apologized.
Rainbow looked down and landed back on the ground, her shock turned to annoyance as she did.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle. What's your name?" Twilight awkwardly asked.
"I'm Rainbow Dash" Rainbow nonchalantly muttered.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" Twilight asked.
Rainbow Dash, even quieter, answered again "Um... My name is Rainbow Dash."
"Didn't quite catch that." Twilight insisted.
Rainbow didn't say anything this time, and instead turned her face aside in annoyance.
The birds awkwardly came back to their places on the tree.
"Well, um, it looks like your birds are back, so I guess everything's in order. Keep up the good work!" Twilight said.
Rainbow Dash simply nodded "Mhm..."
"Oookay." Twilight finally backed away and returned to Spike "Well, that was easy."
Rainbow Dash gasped in happiness "A baby dragon!" She raced at surprisingly fast speed to Spike, disregarding Twilight and knocking her aside.
"Oh, I've never seen a dragon before. He looks so cool!" Rainbow complimented in admiration.
Spike turned to Twilight, who was sprawled on the ground and said cockily "Well, well, well...!" and folded his arms confidently.
"Oh my gosh, he talks?! I didn't know dragons could talk. That's just so awesome, I have so many questions!" Rainbow shouted happily.
Twilight did not want to continue this conversion and magicked Spike onto her back and started to walk away "Well, in that case we'd better be going."
Rainbow speeded next to them, suddenly very interested "Wait, wait! What's his name?"
"I'm Spike." Spike introduced himself.
Rainbow properly introduces herself "Hi Spike, I'm Rainbow Dash. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?" She asked curiously.
"Well, what do you wanna know?" Spike asked.
"Absolutely everything." She replies insistently causing Twilight to groan. This would be long journey home.
"Well... I started out as a cute little purple and green egg..." Spike starts
After a couple minutes later, Spike finished up "...and that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?"
"Oh, yes, please!" Rainbow replied giddy but Spike was pulled away last second by Twilight turning around.
"I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast?" They had arrived at the Golden Oak Library "This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep."
"No I don't— whoa!" Spike persisted but was cut off by Twilight kicking him off "Aww, wook at dat, he's so sweepy he can't even keep his widdle bawance!" Twilight baby-talked, hoping Rainbow would take the bait.
Rainbow just stared at her "...Really?"
Twilight nervous chuckled "Heh-heh, yup."
Rainbow just rolled her eyes and said "Alright then, good night." and went on her way.
"Yes, g'night!" Twilight said and immediately slammed the door, much to Rainbow's and Spike's annoyance.
"Huh. Rude much?" Spike asked rhetorically.
"Sorry, Spike, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time! I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time." Twilight explained before looking around "Now, where's the light?"
Suddenly, the lights flicks on, revealing random ponies Twilight had never seen before.
"Surprise!" they shouted.
Twilight Sparkle simply groaned at this, of course, it wasn't going to that easy.
